    Teleport Foe

Hmm, just a random idea having read this, defence based sets have an advantage in better being able to avoid it landing in the first place, but what if resistance reduced the distance teleported?

Of course this offers little to the defenceless ATs (which is most of them), but then it'd probably be kinda fun having a controller or dominator get teleported into the middle of a group only to group hold them all
  2. I think it used to be 5 recharges in hasten and 4 in AM made both permanent? Of course that won't work now as 3 in each is all that's going to be effective.

Of course if you have multiple */rads, the AMs all stack, giving a nice boost to recharge, damage, endurance recovery etcetera.

I gather full groups of radiation defenders were a mightily impressive force - 8 AMs giving a pretty insane recharge boost, no endurance worries, hefty damage buff and near-superspeed straight out of the tin at lvl 2 (when AM becomes available to defenders). There's no reason it wouldn't work out just as nicely for Corrupters.

Regen and SR get their status-protects at lvl 16, whereas Ninjitsu gets it at 20. SR has the (arguable) advantage that status protection comes from a clicky - 2 or 3 recharge enhances makes it readily available

    [/ QUOTE ]

Ninjitsu is also a clicky and is available at 16 also.

My villain planner is out of date. Someone must pay.
  4. As with setting up the defender thing, I just keep putting it off and putting it off I'm sure I'd have gotten around to it eventually! I hope there's room for my fire/kinetics in this

As I'd mentioned before, Wednesday should be pretty good for me - elsewise I'll have to have words with my people and see what I can come up with

Her name's Miseri, and quite accidentally she ended up looking suspiciously like a Longbow agent - still, all the more incentive to hunt them all down and kill them Oh, and she's lvl 6 right now, and already picked up Assault from the Leadership line.
  5. Being as Regen is missing Quick Recovery, I'd be inclined to say Super Reflexes for Quickness or Ninjitsu (yeah I know you didn't ask) for Smoke Flash and Blinding Powder.

Why? Well if you're playing solo you should generally only be fighting 2-3 mobs at a time, and if played right you could probably avoid giving enemies the chance to hit you.

So SR has the +recharge from Quickness (and the rising resistance from the passives that is in now or coming soon?)

Ninjitsu has the added placate from Smoke Flash and the confuse and -visibility and -accuracy from Blinding Powder, which should all be very handy.

On the other hand, Regen would allow you to recover from any damage you do take quicker, theoretically giving lower down-time.

Regen and SR get their status-protects at lvl 16, whereas Ninjitsu gets it at 20. SR has the (arguable) advantage that status protection comes from a clicky - 2 or 3 recharge enhances makes it readily available. But Energy Aura gets status protection even earlier still at lvl 10. However, Energy Aura is the only set with a weakness to psionics, but does come with some nifty endurance powers late on.

Honestly? I think the Stalker defences are [censored]. Your best defence is just to kill stuff very very quickly.

But hey, that's just my opinion

Best bet is just pick whichever fits your character best, or failing that, whichever you think would be the most fun.

If you must team, team with corrupters - lots of them - they have shields and all sorts

Or you could go for maximum pwnage and take fire. It has a great form of damage mitigation; the ability to wipe out alot of minions very fast

    [/ QUOTE ]

Yup, that's the plan with Synergi's obligatory evil alternate-reality counterpart Fire/Kinetics ftw!

    Team Synergi!

Well true enough the skulls are only around lvl 9 and 10, but then so is half our group, and I figured it'd just be a leisurely bout of arresting on the way to our objective Besides, there's a couple of badges in it for us

I certainly don't have any qualms about visiting the hydra - if we're lucky we might even bump into the Kraken - we'll show the world what Defenders are made off
  8. I'd certainly want to see how the rest turns out - it has a nice bright, dynamic style to it.

Embarrassingly, my own (unfinished) effort (which stretches to around 1 and 1/3 pages) is rather flat, not to mention a little heavy on the text - I've gone a little rambly in my semi-old age!

    Team Synergi!

Pavement inspecting is a fun, and indeed necessary, endeavour for the heroes and villains of Paragon City. We just try to make the villains do it more often

For next week, I was thinking meet in Perez Park at the Steel Canyon exit. We can Kill Skuls (or whatever it is!) on our way down to the Atlas Park entrance into the park proper, and down to a nifty cave I know that's just great for some Spelunking!

    Team Synergi!

As I said, no worries FR. It was down to just me and Syph by the end, and tho we had a minor setback against the big bad boss, we did for the ugly sod in the end!

Still no lvl 12 for me yet, but I'm edging ever closer

Have fun folks, and all being well I'll see y'all next week.
  11. ((Good stuff The blog thing is pretty novel and very well done, as well as very fitting to the character - impressive))

    Ice/ice troubles

I can't say I've had any such troubles. Between ice bolt, chilblain and block of ice I can mantain a pretty fair rate of fire. Add ice sword to that and you're well away. And ice blast at lvl 10 should round things off nicely (I'm just short of lvl 10 atm).

Psionics, and possibly fire, has a mild advantage that it possesses a ranged attack that recharges essentially as soon as it fires (much the same as neutrino bolt for defenders/corrupters, or jab for brutes). This means that you can build Domination straight from lvl 1, but the attack is comparitively weak, and less useful later on when you have plenty of attacks.

Personally I've found it pretty interesting - lvl 12 is my aim for today, to pick up ice slick.

Well if it helps you connect any easier, I've just logged, so there should be a slot free

    Team Synergi!

Good to hear you're still with us folks

Unfortunately Tuesdays and Wednesdays are my two most reliable days for putting aside for regular teaming. Other days I'm more likely to have things coming up on a regular basis. We'll see what happens anyway.

EDIT: Chill, did you try the moving the CoH stuff elsewhere and putting all the CoV beta stuff in its place? Worked for me.
    (two thing to note are:
    1) the CoH stuff should be moved outside of the CoH folder you'd be moving the CoV stuff into, not into a subdirectory or somesuch,
    2) delete/move the majorpatch and checksum files)

    Team Synergi!

You'll have to forgive my naming the team after my own character Besides, I didn't want to keep referring to it as "the all-defender super-TEAM" - it's a bit long and clumsy. Plus I'm the leader. Kind of. And the meaning of 'synergy' also makes it pretty appropriate:

    1. The interaction of two or more agents or forces so that their combined effect is greater than the sum of their individual effects.
    2. Cooperative interaction among groups, especially among the acquired subsidiaries or merged parts of a corporation, that creates an enhanced combined effect.

So yeah, now that I've done justifying my choice of title for the thread, I can continue

For those not in the know, or in case anyone forgets, we meet at 7pm on Tuesdays, real life, acts of God etcetera permitting.

Synergi is presently at lvl 11. I think everyone who attended earlier this week is at lvl 9 or 10?

And if I recall, our Dark Miasma, Trick Arrow and Force Field members are presently unaccounted for. I'll still hold their spots open for a couple more weeks unless I hear from them - if nothing else I always thought Safe Haven was a pretty keen name for a FF defender So come on guys, let me know what's happening.

And as I said before, I'd be looking for a similar setup for CoV with Corrupters, so I'll start a thread up about that on the Union Villains board over the weekend. It'd be Wednesdays at 7pm, and may or may not begin this Wednesday.

    About us
The Isolators were formed as a group dedicated to the acquisition of badges, and also aiding others in the acquisition of badges.

I have been, and will continue to, announce Fire Guards badge related missions and endeavours on the forum for any interested parties to join. Membership to the supergroup is not required to participate.

I was sorely tempted to have "Gotta catch 'em all!" as the group motto, but, although I'm not a roleplayer per se, all of my characters do have a well-defined personality, it's just that I'm the only one who knows it! As such I went for a slightly more "realistic" motto, reflecting the possible roleplay perspective that badges (as well as plaques, mission souvenirs etc.) represent learning and exploration. The supergroup titles further reflect this, with the titles Collector, Explorer and Guide.

General grouping for missions et al is all good (and large groups result in bosses which can help towards badges ;-)

Possession of the Isolator badge is not required for membership.

The general aim is just to have a good group of people who like teaming and collecting shiny new badges!
