"Empaths heal, tankers get aggro, blasters kill things." Most people admit a tanker can tank without its taunt. They'll also admit a blaster can kill without its tier nine- arguably best power- and the fact that an empath can do more than heal has already been dissected. They all have other powers that, collected, can do a better job. Gauntlet, all AOE attacks with larger than five targets as their max, etc. in the tank's example. I'd rather have an empath's fortitude than it's healing aura, personally. So. Is kinetics a special AT that only has SB? Does all of its potential come from Speed Boost? Does... one/one hundredth of its potential come from speed boost? Y'all know the answer! C'mon!
Does a 'lazy SBer' who makes sure the maximum number of people are hit by FS, who uses the damage boost it got from FS with it's own powers, or who makes sure everyone's health and endurance are tipped off makes a better contribution to my team than an O.C.D. SBer who'd rather make sure that one blaster had his speed boost than heal or buff the nearly dead or damage ineffectual tank? If the kinetics did both, would that be nice? Probably! Losing the latter would hardly make a difference to me, though!
(Plus, you know... Speed boosting is boring. Fulcrum Shifting and then Rain of Arrowing on those Rikti's behinds is so much more fun for us! You're allowed to do -your- jobs different ways!) -
We ate the AVs at the end with maybe one or two deaths from our squishes. Now, those mines on everyone's first try of the TF... are not pretty. They should spawn with some region or logic. And restraint.

Kin/Regen/[Ghost Widowed] scrapper: I popped Power Siphon, shadow meld and then beat her to death. I think I used reconstruction by the end of it. To be fair, she's moderately IOed and chubbed up with her Uncommon Spiritual, though, so that probably doesn't help you much. Go Ghost Widow. Woo.

Lift, at level fifty, six slotted for knock up.
"See that airliner?"
"See it now?" -

.... Well lets see, oh an my guy will be an 8 foot tall Dark Defender: Dark lizard (or his real name "Shiva"))
A howl fills the night sky, and the beat of wings can be heard by the many citizens of fault-line.
Shiva the Archmage, in his natural form of a giant winged lizard, prowls the night sky.
He smells the blood of the unjust, and comes to investigate.
he sees a man fully dressed in black, shaking, and running for his life. Lizard blends into the darkness and flies to meet the man.
After watching him jump and spin on his heel, he grabs him with one of his claws and turns the man to face himself.
"What is it that you fear?" Shiva says as drool drips from his jaws..
... (waves his hand and a shadowed, unidentifiable figure appears to his right)
Stares into the terrified mans eyes, waiting for a response...
"If you do not yet, i suggest you learn to fear my and answer my question!"
"He...a... A huge ma-man in-in-incapacitated my men..."
The man points vaguely in the direction of the man.
A huge explosion sounds and "Shiva's" shadowed partner leaps to protect him. He tosses aside the man and slowly continues in that direction...
After a short time, he finds himself at a warehouse where a small boy and a fairly tall man are speaking.
He watches as the boy suddenly whips out his sword an attacks an approaching foe.
"Their souls do not smell of the unjust..." Lizard mumbles to himself.
He slowly walks out from behind the box he had been hiding behind, just feet from the women he hadn't noticed before. He smells a darkened soul and growls at her, staring at these people he announces himself.
"I am Dark lizard, Mage of the dimension of Ivore"
He casts a dark healing spell on the injured boy
"What are your purposes, and do you two need any assistance in the Downfall of those morally unjust?" purposefully ignoring the women
His dark partner appears and captures a nearby hiding foe in Heck-ish tentacles -

Can you please stop claiming that the veteran reward system is a 'program which rewards loyal players' because as we all know it doesn't work like that.
Someone who has been playing for 3 months has more useful and more rewarding bonuses than someone who has been playing for 3 years. A reward is when you give someone something of value to them, an award is something to just mark an occasion.
The veteran scheme doesn't offer rewards, it offers awards once you get far enough into it. It's only rewarding for the first couple years when you get universally valuable things like trenchcoats, wings, temp powers and respecs. Once you get into the 2-3 year mark you have more respecs than you could ever need thus making them devalued and you're not getting costume peices which can be used on a wide range of characters, instead you get very very specific costume peices which are restrictive and not even suitable for super humans half the time.
It's been said time and time again, you cannot claim it offers rewards for loyalty when you insist on ensuring that people who haven't subscribed as long don't feel 'left out'. A reward is valuable because people want it, soon as it stops being desirable it's not a reward anymore.

Ok why 3 for dark-blast and 1 for life-drain? slot it a lil and it can do pretty fair damge, and heals, more powerful then dark blast. id at least give it a 4, and were u leaving stamina out of all those? i have leader-ship, and i can use all those powers continusly... and unless u fully slot black star with IOs, its about as usful as moon-beaming (snipe) every1 and wasteing all ur endurence, basicly a crappy nuke, kill some minions yay! thats it.
(and a tip: with manuvers, Hover, and Shadow fall all sloted nicely, can Tank whites and yellows easy)

from what ive seen there is no horable pvp sets, just people are better with certain kinds, spines may be the easyist made to be more pvp acsesable, but all can be equley powerful if used corectly. for instence my dark/dark def, not even remotely made for pvp, and 50 or more players telling me he WILL stink in pvp, ends up killing more then half of them (where they start screaming like idiots). my point is although most of u seem to completly depenedent on these sets, it does not nesiceraly mean they are horable and unbalenced
