No necro-posting. Necro-posting is responding to an old discussion thread and is just a form of 'bumping.' One can bring up an old topic by starting a new thread and linking to the old discussion.
[/ QUOTE ]
Errr, why? If somebody has something new to add, why start another topic instead of just posting in the existing topic? Posting in the existing topic makes it easier for people to see what has been said before. Come to think of it, that's particularly true in the Guides forum. If something in the game changes a few months after the guide is posted that warrents a small change to the guide, wouldn't it be better to just tack on a new post to the thread instead of doing the whole guide over again?
Now, of course, if somebody is just dredging a thread up to hash out the same ideas all over again, then I wish they wouldn't add to the thread OR start another thread.
[/ QUOTE ]There should be a cut off on the necro-posting if not then it appears like something is going on but it really isnt. I know some folks necroed some stuff that looked like x powerset got nerfed or was getting nerfed. All it does is cause more confusion on the forums. What I would like to see is if no one says anything else and it has been more than 6 months the thread needs to auto close. Most old necro threads dont get purged due to developer respones still being in them so this would be a good idea to keep the confusion down. -

QFT. Nerf X threads have lead to so much trouble on these forums. There are some players that just wont be satisfied till everyone is nerfed in some way. If that player just felt x powerset was overpowered then they can play without enhancements so it doesnt feel as overpowered, that is how I see it.

Mods notified for breaking rule # 2. Abuse and disrespectful behavior is not tolerated.
Lumping all players on one side of a discussion as "wont be satisfied till everyone is nerfed in some way" is insulting and inaccurate. Not to mention disrespectful.
[/ QUOTE ]Just wait a minute, I said some, no where in my post did I say all players. -

I don't like this rule at all. Some things ARE overpowered and need a few whacks from ye'olde nerf bat. How are we supposed to point those out? "All powers of players and NPCs need to be cranked up heavily in order to match the Shivan temp power - or do something I can't talk about that would be effectively the same but much more simple."
The fact that these kinds of posts CAN turn into nasty threads really just isn't fair. Can I not post suggestions unless I'm sure all the folks responding will be responsible??
[/ QUOTE ]
I'd vote send a PM. We really don't need the discussions and they do all become the exact same flameware between the "nerfherders" and "FOTM roller PLers."

I dont think putting the rules out there is going to make any difference, some people are going to keep pushing the limits just like they were before. The thing is too many people do it. So will the mods perma ban almost everyone? Then who will be left to post on the forums? I do think on some instances when people posted and stuff got locked we could get around this issue if we just had an off topic forum altogether that way anything goes in that forum but at the same time the rest of the rules are followed. An off topic forum would mean less work on the mods when stuff just doesnt fit into any of these categories we got now.

Doesn't CoH use a different engine than CoV? Could these future plans possibly include updating both CoH/CoV to one new and inproved engine so we can can have things like power customization and a seemless world with no load screens?
[/ QUOTE ]It has the same game engine for both games it is just CoH zones use less polygons than CoV zones. That is why you get less lag in CoH. -
[ QUOTE ]
Who cares....what are these future IP plans? How do these changes affect the IP, and how does the IP affect the combining of the games? What does this all mean? Any ideas?
[/ QUOTE ]We are getting CoX vs Marvel. -
So this applies again like what we had last year or is it only just restating what happened last year? For example, if I some how find CoH or CoV by itself will it still be a standalone game?

Awsome video. Let the issue 13 speculation begin!!!!!!!!!

Is it just me, or does it seem like the RMTers are really upset about the new trial account limitations?
Upset enough that they just might be using those brand new trial accounts to make brand new forum accounts to post on the forums in hopes of getting the trial limitations reversed.
Hmmmm... we may never know.

The plot thickens..... -
Ok lets make a deal lighthouse. Since we not getting new stuff on live servers is it possible for them to still patch test server anyways?
-
[ QUOTE ]
In talking with our Operations Team, it looks like the servers will be back up very soon (less than an hour) from now (it's apx 8:30 AM Pacific / 11:30 AM Eastern as I write this).
Thanks again for your patience.

So does this mean we gotta wait another week for Katana changes??? -
I WANT MY KATANA CHANGES NOW!!!!!!
-
[ QUOTE ]
Personally, I want them to color code the recipie drop messages.
[/ QUOTE ] This too. -
Question on this change.
[ QUOTE ]
Vanguard Merits now will display Merit Awarded! instead of Salvage Found! when they are awarded to a player.
[/ QUOTE ]
Did they at least change the color on them? It wasnt the salvage found message that made players angry but more so the orange color making them think they really got rare salvage. If they are still going to be orange then this change essentially did nothing for us players. -

So, what was so game breaking that this had to go live?
[/ QUOTE ]
The Nemesis were giving too much experience, influence and infamy so they were reduced to Family levels. Refer to the lolnemesis thread.
[/ QUOTE ]
Makes sense since we all know it is just another nemesis plot. -
I got a pm from lighthouse about this, they are looking in to this, hopefully it gets fixed soon. Sooner than Soon.
-
Can someone check to see if critters are still running away from everything? I know it isnt mentioned in the patch notes but maybe it got missed or something. I am hoping this issue gets fixed soon.
-
I actually started a thread on this in the tech issues. It is getting to be too annoying to play without some troller or dominator to immobilize all the critters now. It shouldnt come to the point where you need crowd control just to function and not take an excess about of time to kill stuff. At first I thought it was the VEAT debuffs because I been on alot of VEAT heavy teams but thats not it, they even run away on heroside now.

How well does the Bane Spiders Cloaking Device work?
The Cloaking Device for Bane Spiders has a range of 50 feet on it. This gives the Bane Spider a greater ability to stealth through missions and avoid encounters if they so choose.
For comparisons, critters have these perception radii;
Minions: 45 feet
Lieutenants: 50 feet
Bosses: 54 feet
[/ QUOTE ]
This part you might want to check. Initially the bane spider/widow stealth was just sort of like regular stealth. Critter could see you if got close when to them. After a patch or 2 ago this changed. It is almost identical to stalker hide in pve except that they dont get the huge aoe defense bonus. I could stand there next to a boss and do /em boombox all day and they would never know the difference. Initially I had planned to buy a stealth IO for mine to make up the difference but after the stealth change I wont be needing it so it will go to another AT instead.
[/ QUOTE ]Checking that now actually. From what the detailed powers info is telling me the figures are the same, so either there is a bug with critter perception, or the detailed info window is bugged.
Right now the Bane Spider Cloaking Device says 5000.00 (50 feet) and the Night Widow Mask Presence is saying 4000.00 (40 feet). Maybe test with a normal stealth power to find out the truth instead as it might be a bug in critter perceptions.
[/ QUOTE ]I wouldnt neccessarily go by what the "real" numbers say on this, just go toggle on hide and stand next to a boss that is higher than you. If you dont get beat on within the next few seconds or so then you will know how to word it in your guide. -

Been listening to this interview but I got just one burning question, Why does Positron keep saying issue 13 instead of issue 12? Like he said the VEATs were for issue 13 eventhough they are in issue 12, he said issue 13 on alot of other things.
