I'd like to join but will be way for about a week. So if it doesn't go down this Saturday I'd gladly join with either a Traps/Sonic defender or a Merc/Traps MM. Both need the zone unlocked so I'll work on that when I get back just in case.

Quote:The operative word being "some", case in point Valerie Plame. The government in real life protects the privacy/identity of some CIA agents - so it'd do the same for superpowered agents too.
I would never underestimate the lust for power and greed; something that would only magnify in non superhuman beings if there were super powered beings around. I'd actually feel sorry for them as there would be people around every corner trying to exploit them or worse. -
lol you used "Privacy" and "Government" in the same sentence

Considering the media is owned and ran by evil men anyways, I don't expect the reaction to be very good. At the end of the day I think the hero would be vilified for being different, for not being everywhere all the time, and for not being able to help everyone. At the end of the day the hero will probably regret their decision to "come out".
Which reminds me; I can't wait until next season of Heroes after Claire's stunt in Central Park. They just better be glad Sylar is a good guy.. at least for now. -
I actually think the opposite, due to ED and exemping, level 35 recipes are worth more than level 50s. As far as procs certainly the lower the level the more valuable.
-
I think the easiest thing to do to drive down prices would be to change recipe drops. IMO one of the reasons the markets are so wonky here is unlike in real life where the government intervenes on behalf of consumers, the devs rarely intervene of behalf of the buyers. Although they have in the past increased drop rates for things such as costume pieces and corrected the drop rate issue we brought to their attention a few issues ago.
I doubt the devs can do anything to permanently get rid of RMTs and that is at least one of the causes of the absurd prices on the market, but they can tweak recipe drops to make it less profitable for RMTers. The drop rates themselves may not need to be changed (although I wouldn't complain if they were increased slightly). One thought I have is that "off" level recipes be removed. This would mean no more level 36 recipes, the enemies would only drop recipes at 0s and 5s. To make up for the removed recipe levels rates would have to be increased slightly.
In the case of procs I would suggest the levels be removed from them completely, so instead of having a level 30, 23 etc "Chance for Neg Energy damage" Touch of Death; players would simply receive the drop with no level restrictions as I beleive the level of the recipe does not change the effect of the proc.
Drops such as purples and respecs could probably stay the same, although I think they need to give more sets purples.
As far as PvP drops, in the interest of getting more people (reward motivated players such as myself) interested in PvP, that timer needs to be removed or seriously reduced. -

Quote:That is one of my "reserved for auto complete" missionsNo, the most evil thing you get to do (perhaps in the entire game) is Save the Oranbegans from the Malta Group.
Malta in the narrow hallways of a ridiculously large Oranbegan map. And somehow you're supposed to look in every nook and cranny to free 12 hostages. Oh and it's timed.
Do it with a full team of eight. I dare ya.I double dare ya.

I think Mirror Spirit may be getting an increased role soon. I haven't gotten a chance to see if it's in the revamped Posi (Faultline portion) or part of GR though. Maybe I'll try to get a Posi going on test tonight.

Hmmm I gave you the SG base before I read you were in the market for buying one. I should have held out and made a profit.

I may get back home in time.
Pencil me in as a maybe on a Fire/Dark. -
Quote:Even if measured by unemployment the economy is recovering. Unemployment still rises during a recovery but at a slower rate.It certainly depends on how you measure recovery. If you measure by GDP, then the econonmy is recovering for the 2nd straight quarter. If you measure by unemployment...well...
It would be interesting to see how a pay as you go plan would work (capped at $15 a month). I'd certainly signup. -
As cute as they may look, I can't help but to imagine what's going through their minds. Most of them have that "I hope no one sees me in this" look on their faces. I wonder if they got laughed at by their friends in the dog park the next day?
I'm almost tempted in getting my Shiba Inu a costume now... almost... -
Two things I'd like seen done with Dual Pistols (Really one the other is a general addition to the game).
I quickly got over my issues with redraw by changing my tactics. I simply won't use my rad debuffs unless the team is facing multiple bosses, an EB or AV. Other than that the pistols are out of the holster and I'm plugging away.
First I'd like to see alternate animations that aren't as "flashy". I'm sure they will be down the road sometime, but it would have been nice to have them from the start seeing that the set is new.
The second is there is a desperate need for more variety in the ranged AoE recipe selection. There are only three normal sets (Air Burst has a max of 4 recipes), one purple and one PvP. Compared to Ranged Single target that has 10 normal sets, one purple and one PvP. PBAoE has five normal, one purple and one PvP. Additionally the bonuses for AoE sets are lacking. With such small variety I would think the sets would offer better bonuses, sadly they don't. -
I didn't do much this past weekend. Got my Traps/Sonic from 28-33. The rest of the time was spent doing TFs on various 50s.
I planned on leveling up my Sonic/DP Corr, but decided to hold off until they come up with some decent AoE recipe sets. Right now the existing sets (Purple aside) are pretty much useless IMO. -
I'd love to try this unfortunately I have an early morning exam on Saturday. Hopefully I'll be able to take part in other all scrapper TFs.

Quote:Some people actually work for a living or go to school. Personally speaking, the desire to call out of work sick during 2xXP or Issue updates has long faded; but I plan on logging on sometime after work.Today i thought it would be easier to find team i was wrong. I've been playing city of heroes since it was in beta. When city of heroes came out you were able to find a team no trouble at all. Now almost 6 years later its almost impossible to find a team. The player base is getting lower and lower soon there will be just enough to fill one server up. Even with Double exp weekend happening now the player base is low. Yes, they gave us new toys to play with this week but still no one is teaming because alot of people own more than one account so they team with themselves. Whats the point? Guess i'll just solo this game just like the other game. Til they give people reason enough to team.
Try after 6PM EST, if you still have problems finding a team I'd suggest you take the initiative and start a team yourself. Every server also has it's own forum section, in which many players post TF sign ups etc. You should check it out.
Also as a player that's been here since closed beta, you should have more than a few friends in game or at least acquired the skill to make friends. Never underestimate the power of friendship... -
Masque needs to be nerfed!
I'll be down to help if I'm around for noon
Rad/Sonic Def
Dark/Ice Def
Kin/Elec Def
Rad/Plant Cont
Ice/Storm Cont (48)
Fire/Kin Cont
I think that's all the support toons in range I have left on Victory. I am of course always willing to bring my Dark/SR scrapper -
No there was an ITF I wanted to join on Victory last night but wasn't sure I would have enough time due to a Synapse at 8:30PM EST. Thought it was the same ITF

Congrats! I love my little Shiba Inu fur baby. I suggest staying away from the common dog foods like Purina and going for a higher quality dog food. Higher quality doesn't mean more expensive when it comes to dog food though. I use "Chicken Soup for the Puppy (Dog) Lovers Soul". I usually buy from pet food direct.

Quote:lol This would happen to have been the ITF that started on Victory around 7:30 PM EST would it?So I joined an ITF last night. PuG, 7 villains and 1 hero, a blaster (and no, not dual pistols).
Leader starts TF. Blaster asks what we're doing. At least one other player states that we are not doing an ITF, and when the leader points out that we are, there's a reply like, "We're out after this." Oooh, this looks like it's going to be fun.
Only partway into the first mission, blaster is asking if we're done yet. Leader explains that there are four missions.
Leader DC's, comes back, but the blaster is now in charge. He also has to lead the oracle to where she needs to go. This takes several minutes of explaining and coaxing.
After mission, blaster asks if we're done. "Do I get the roman armor now?" No, there are three missions left. It takes a couple of minutes for the leader to lead the blaster back to Imperius and convince him to set the next mission.
Second mission. Blaster: "Are we done after this?" /em sighs. Blaster dies once for every cyst killed, because he insists on standing next to them when they explode. Leader explains that they explode and squishies should not stand near them. After about the 10th death, blaster says, "I'm squishy, lol." But he does not change his approach at all. Blaster also dies at least a half dozen other times, usually due to the ambushes (this was not a speed run). After nearly every death blaster asks for a wakie inspiration, despite being told repeatedly that there were no other heroes and the villains couldn't hand him one.
At one point blaster levels. People congratulate him. His response: "Oh? Did I level up?"
Blaster exits mission while still dead. He asks for a wakie. He's told to hit the hospital, after which the leader begs someone to teleport him to Imperius so that he can set the next mission.
Blaster: "Do I get the armor after this mission?" No. The ITF is four missions long. This is only the third mission. Someone says, "Don't make me turn this Task Force around!"
Fourth mission: Blaster: "This is the last mission? Is it short?" Another teammate: "If you want a short task force, you should try the Quaterfield TF in the shadow shard."
I should point out that our blaster wasn't the only person who'd never done an ITF and who was dying repeatedly. He just died more often and was a lot more vocal. So when someone said, "I think with THIS team, we should just fight our way there," everyone agreed.
After Rommy rezes for the second time, our blaster says, "Man, this guy Is tough!" After he rezes for the third time, one of our other newbies says in amazement, "He keeps coming back to life!!
We still finished in 1:21. No one had quit. Several people on the team said, "NOW you get the Roman armor!" They had to explain how to do that, of course.
Blaster: "You villains are all good guys!" Well, maybe not, but my fellow teammates and especially the leader need to be congratulated on their great patience. And I hope the (obviously young) blaster enjoys his Roman armor. -
Quote:As I can imagine there will be lots of trench coats running around... I may have to upgrade my graphics card....I ran with an all pistols guild group last night and it was a blast. I think we all made it to around level 8 or so. I've read the Doom from the beta boards about how the set stands up to the others, but I've got to admit it is awful pretty and lots of fun.
Our group last night had 5 western themed toons, and I saw plenty cowboys/girs, matrix types and Laura Cofts running around Mercy.Word of advice being from Texas and all, not everyone can pull off "howdy", "partner" and "ya'll".

Yeah that redraw is the worst, I don't care what people say about redraw not effecting casting time; it's annoying. So much so I have scrapped many a toons because of redraw.
For the life of me I can't understand why when creating new power sets they don't work on animations so that there is as little redraw as possible. -
Quote:My Dual Pistol toon 9as well as Demon Summoning) will also be Praetorian; not because of concept, but because I want them to be Corruptors but absolutely hate CoV zones. I'm also holding off making any new Defenders until I know what Castle has planned for them and Blasters just aren't my cup of tea. Besides, since I will have to purchase GR for multiple accounts it makes more sense to wait.Yeah, I'm feeling a little miffed that they made the collector's edition not available for pre-purchase at all, leaving those of us that can't throw money at everything they put out to wait. Oh well. I'm not giving in, and my dual pistols concept was a Praetorian, anyway.
Still wish they had a way of including everyone in the pre-order fun.
Praetorian PD and Resistance look pretty sweet. I know we don't get the glowie armor bits, but I hope they have some nice costume bits to throw our way along with the NPCs.
