Well here's a (somewhat) quick build that I did. Very generic; was just seeing what it would take to get to 45% ranged softcap (only have using 1 purple or pvp IO (I have the 3% def pvp IO proc atm and that's why I'm using it in the build)).

I'm curious on how people slot Freezing Rain, Hurricane and Lightning Storm....lots of options.
Yes I know I don't have Lightning Storm or Psy. Wail slotted properly again, was seeing how much it took to get to 45% rng def. So I can definitely take out some of the rng. def so I can slot Psy. Wail and LS properly.
I'd probably take the Lockdown set out of the APP ST hold....either that or take slots out of Maneuvers. Or possibly both. I know I don't necessarily need 45% (could live with 38-40%) so that I can slot other powers better so....
Thoughts? -

I think I have the name for my next Supergroup....
Hey....I just had the same "group" call me today!
I thought of the same thing, "Looking For Group Group?!" :P -
Thanks for the reply!
It seems I'm always 'stuck' between what I want and my laziness/playstyle.
I would like a toon that has softcap'd def to range/etc and high recharge (like your build) but I can't stand taking tough/weave on another toon...ugh...more toggles
As far as destiny powers go, I almost always have at least 2 per toon. A t3 clarion (perma t3 one) and then the other one that I want for that toon.
Mainly taking clarion for UG runs and/or just in general to help with mez's. So I'd have t3 clarion and most likely a t3 or t4 ageless.
That leaves me to wonder what my build will be like...go for the softcap'd def or no? hmm...
I wish I knew what other powers are coming in the power pools in i24...might make things easier (or harder!).
Time to transfer the toon to beta and test things! -

And it worked because I know 2 SGmates have returned (I assume VIP status but maybe not?) only because of Water Blast.
*waves to Wave and Artic* -
Ionized Water here! (Water Blast/Cold Dom. Corruptor).
Nothing fancy but it just so happened that it works with my global name (@Energizing Ion)...most call me Ion so...Ionized Water...ta-da...
SEE HOW CREATIVE I AM?! -
Hello there!
So I started to play my lvl 50 Storm/Psy Def. again and wanted to see what other people's thoughts were.
* What APP (Epic pools) did/would you get?
* Which Alpha/Destiny powers did you go for?
Right now I have the Electric Mastery APP mainly for the Power Sink +end power. But I realize that if I got the Ageless destiny then I wouldn't need Power Sink (for the most part I'd assume).
The Alpha is kind of making me wonder...go Cardiac for extra end. help? Sure that's nice but none of the other buffs from Cardiac mean much to me.
Vigor then? More Acc is nice, still gives help with end. reduction and healing as well (I will have O2 Boost).
But maybe Spiritual for more recharge and let Ageless be my main end. help?
Or another one to increase the debuffs of Freezing Rain/Hurricane? Hmm, options, options...
Edit:
Oh and my basic power layout that I'm thinking of now is:

To me, Whirlpool; at least for the moment. If I'm solo'ing (+0x0) there usually aren't a lot of mobs and they run out of Whirlpool pretty fast so...that 1 or 2 ticks of -1 won't do much good.
On teams with immobs or more buffs/debuffs? Sure Whirlpool works
Granted I'm only lvl 17 too so... -
Quote:I remember one MMO (fantasy based...don't remember the name of it; don't think it's up and running still) that my former boss was interested in.They should just go ahead and introduce create your own powers. That is the only way to make folks happy.
This is from memory but I think you got a power (let's say Fireball) and then for either money (game money not rl money) or some sort of fee, you could modify the power. So if you wanted it to do more damage, you could make a 'new' Fireball that does more damage (but now it costs more mana/endurance or what have you).
I'm sure that may be harder on the dev team but I'd love to see something like that. -
Quote:I wouldn't be opposed to this.I think it could easily be split into two parts like the Positron TF was:
Part 1 involves keeping the Clockwork from siphoning Paragon City's power supply, thus preventing a city-wide blackout.
Part 2 involves hunting down and defeating the Clockwork King. -
-
I would love to see TA (and other sets like FF) get some love!
Here's hoping for you Trickshooter! Maybe my lvl 50 TA/A would come off the shelf if they did buff 'em! -
Synapse said that the devs will be mailing the "book" to us (no patch notes, just a book).
I'm here to say that I have some free time pretty much every day so...if you want to ship it to me and I can proof-read it to make sure there are no typos*/etc...I'll be glad to do it!
*You know like mentioning certain power sets that may or may not go live *looks at HitStreak**
*wonders if that part gets edited out....* -
In the twitch recording; at the start that guy was watching/playing that favorite song of Zwill's..."Friday, friday..." and so on and so forth.
-
Yeah I was going to respec out of Atomic Blast to get the Rad Blast snipe...but with the nuke changes....now I have to figure it out...
-
Quote:oh yeah not to mention the free thins on twitter...
i dont like twitter...
i dont use twitter...
but if i want free goodies i have to pretend to , follow them, and be part of a site i dont care for.
why cant the freebies just be on here? XD
Because then they wouldn't get marketing? Like current old paper newspapers..."we don't want to change, we're the newspaper, everyone wants us!"
people: "eeh...not so much....we like free things like the internet to give us news." -
With all these changes/improvements, I wonder if they'll improve Dimension Shift (by removing it!
).
De-rail thought: Was on a Magisterium itrial one night with my Grav/Thermal Controller (he has DS); it was a small league and for some reason Chimera really liked my toon that run.
So I thought...hey I'll use DS to phase him so he can't hurt me for, at least, 20 seconds!
I run up to him, use DS, he's in the DS field, I run away and fight the other AVs and oh look...Chimera isn't phased/affected by DS because he just 1-shot me again!
-
Quote:...
So what if someone had a stone tank who had taunt, provoke and challenge?
I do!
Well, a stone brute...but still; has all the powers in the Presence power pool.
Granted, I don't play her since she's not "needed" for "tanking" LRSFs anymore (made her when villains were still 'new')...
I'm all for improvements! -
Quote:Yes, but previously, the first two powers of Presence were a single target Taunt, and an AoE Taunt. Is there ever going to be a time when the Single Target Taunt is tactically superior? And does anyone ever actually TAKE that ST Taunt?
Heeey....watch it! My SS/SA Brute has ALL of the powers in the Presence power pool!
This was back in the day when I wanted to make sure all the AVs in the LRSF were on me and not my teammates so I took more taunt powers!
The fear powers were for thematic reasons! -
Quote:Ok, so... lemme get this straight:
when the missus and I currently play my ill/kin controller and her fire/fire blaster, we can usually:
- have something from illusion grab the alpha strike.
- run into to the middle of a +4/x8 mob
- hit fulcrum shift
- hit fireball, fire sword circle.
- watch almost everyone die
- pick off stragglers
- repeat.
now we can add the nuke to that mix?
... is there any word on increasing the difficulty slider?
Play "gimped" power sets instead? -
-
Very nice write-up! Thanks Nalrok!
Quote:To be specific, it will change from a 100% chance for KB every 2s to a 40% chance for KD/60% chance for nothing* every 2s.
*Written this way because the last time I said "40% chance for KD", it was assumed to mean 40% KD/60% KD.
Dang and I just started to play with/think of incarnating my Storm/Psy def (slotted the KD proc in Tornado)....
Sorry all, once I start going for that "uber" thing the devs "nerf" it...(happened with Burn and Spines/Regen toons way back in the day).
