    Uh...quick update, I guess this should be put on hold because from what I've read about the STF being bugged. The technicians that come when you attack the towers in the last mission auto-heal the towers to full health even if the techs are mezzed/dead/whatever....so...uh, yeah....I guess we'll wait till that is fixed to try to do a MoSTF run heh.
  2. Hmm, maybe I'm mis-understanding ya...

    If I get a common salvage drop from defeating a minion/whatever, and sell it for 1,000 (actually get 800 influence like above), shouldn't that be 800 gained towards the badge?


    Now as far as buying things off of WW/BM...that should not count towards the badge (if I bought something for 20 million influence I don't go back 20 million from progress )....this is not a 2 way street!

    Just curious, how hard would it be? If I sold something for, let's say, 1,000 influence take away WW's/BM's share of the profit and you're left with, let's say (I don't know off hand what % WW takes..so...), 800 influence. Why can't 800 influence be rewarded to my influence badge(s)? I wouldn't think it'd be that hard to do.

    I have a hard time thinking the Devs are having to run their badge designs past a "suit" to get a sign-off. Basically I believe they just completely fumbled the ball on this one. If their 'priorities' for designing badges for a major Issue that probably took them a year or more to develop can't include a few hours of serious brainstorming to realize the consequences of their plans then I think they have at least a few -misguided- priorities at work.

    Or they could have been pushed for deadlines to get MA out/had other things ("more important") to work on, like Issue 15 or power customization or Going Rogue...who knows...

    Or maybe they said, "hey we have MA coming out, let's get some badges out there for it!, suggestions?!" and then they thought, "gee we did 'count' type badges before so why "remake the wheel"?" So they made badges and then it occurred to them, "gee, maybe we shouldn't have done that."

    I for one have said it before, but am glad that the devs removed all the tedious badges (especially badges that were for 'testing' missions) and other badges like the HoF or Dev choice ones.

    I would like to get the final 2 influence badges on my main badger but do I ever think that I'll get them? No...those two are the only badges I really don't expect to get (unless someone wants to farm them for me; or they reduce the amount needed for the badges). Right now I think I'm a little below 50% for the 5th influence badge. I won't ask for them to be lowered but if they do I'll be happy Or they could just let WW sells be counted towards the badge progress...that'd be nice

    So how/what are the credentials for "hard" badges? I do not think it should be "defeat 50000 mobs" or "heal for x amount". To me, something like the Master of the STF/LRSF is about what the "hard" badges should be; however, there is a caveat to that as well.

    My problem with the Master of x type of badges is maybe the reqs should be different (not meaning to change them now but in new tfs/sfs). Instead of 0 deaths and no temps, why not have multiple 'ways' of getting the Master of x tf/sf badges?

    For instance, you could get the Master of x tf/sf badge by doing 0 deaths and no temp powers or you could get the badge by doing it in 1 hour and 30 mins and no temps and only 3 deaths. Or maybe get the badge by doing "enemies buffed, no inspirations". Just something different but yeah somewhat equal "restrictions". Nothing like, "2 hour time limit" and you get the badge...maybe for some people/teams, doing the tf/sf with enemies buffed and no inspirations (or whatever the reqs may be) would be easier than 0 deaths and no temps.

    Just saw this topic on Active Topics and wanted to do a quick comment...

    The problem with wanting a challenge from the devs with your (and others) "high end" builds/toons is that not everyone has all the IO sets/purples/pvp IOs/whatever. They have said before that they are basing any challenges/content on people/toons with SOs (or was it just base IOs...I'm thinking SOs). So two things can be done about this...

    1.) Have toons with only SOs in them and no IOs/sets

    or

    2.) Do what you are already doing, use MA and create missions that challenge you/your builds/toons/etc.

    Anyways, congrats on the run I did the Kahn tf with some people this past week and did it in 48 minutes. Could have been faster but we didn't see the last portal to click on in the 4th mission for a good 2-4 minutes. *shrugs* oh well

    Yeah it's not that hard to get to lvl 50...I know that when on a medium/full team of my sgmates/friends we can steamroll through content and get really good xp (especially with patrol/double xp). All you really need is a team and the ability to either sit down/play for x amount of hours or have other friends log in for you and play for you while you sleep/do whatever.

    The fastest I ever got to 50 was about 77/78 hours (not sure on exact time)...that was when VEATs were introduced/released to live and my VEAT was teamed with all of my sg's/friends VEATs...an 8 man/woman VEAT team...good stuff!

    And of course that was before the MA...just doing normal missions/content...

    Yeah I saw this happening to a 5th Column/Council hoverbot in FF that EI just happened to blow up just for fun...then it kept exploding and I was like, "uh...that's a bug"...said that in the Beta Testers channel...didn't /bug it...guess I should have (thought it was just me/my graphics...didn't try to find another one though).

    My main just needs the Battle Royal, Swiss Round and Pentad badges...

    I felt quite silly last night...I was getting all of the duels/weight class badges with my main and was waiting the whole 5 mins for each weight class round. Only at the end/last weight class did I realize, "gee, I only need to kill/defeat the other person once and that person can quit and it would make this go a lot faster." Oh well
  13. Unfortunately the hero tf is really boring (ie, could be done in 30 mins if your team knows what to do/what to bring) and the villy sf seems/is broken atm.

    I did one villy SF run and there were quite a few posts on the Issue 15 feedback about how the MM temp power wasn't working (didn't seem to be) and our team had to nuke and use shivans to win against Reichsman (eventually the ambushes stopped it seems).

    The feature you're discussing is completely cosmetic and not gameplay impacting, so it seems wholly appropriate for a booster, probably more so than self-destruct or mission teleporter.

    It's true that switching from male to female/whatever isn't 'gameplay impacting' (you could argue that but to me it's not so it's not worth it). However, what about power customization (let's just say the ability to change the color of your powers). That's not impacting any gamplay so if they released power customization as an "add-on" to Issue 15 so that if you want to change the color of your powers you'd have to pay another $10 for that ability. Sure you don't have to and you'd still get Issue 15 for free but...power customization has been requested for so long by so many people that it just seems like 'a slap in the face' (again not the right words/phrase...but can't find the right words :/).

    All of the other booster packs always had costume pieces/emotes/cc emotes and some 'bonus power'. Sure the bonus power impacts gameplay but to be honest...the self-destruct power or the mission tp power is not that big of a deal...it's nice but it's not like "everyone" requested this power over the course of x years.

    Don't get me wrong I don't think I'll be buying this pack for that reason as well as I think it's also a "light" booster pack...The costume change emotes are awesome and the ability to change body styles/height/etc is awesome as well but...that's not a "huge" draw to me. That's why I'm hoping that maybe GR (or another issue 'soon') will allow body style changes for free (without paying for the booster pack).

    Not saying it would be the best idea for them; then again they did allow all the prestige sprints to be gained via vet. reward...so...there is a precedent. I'd like them to take the body style/slider/etc off of the booster pack and make that part free and add in some sort of temp power like the other boosters. Yes I've seen Castle's post saying he couldn't think of anything; but surely people might have given Castle ideas with some of their posts by now.

    True I wasn't really saying that this type of thing should be given to 63 month vet rewards but...was trying to relate it. It's like some of the vet reward "debates" that have come up before. I believe that some of the vet rewards (costume stuff/wings/trenchcoats/etc) should not be vet rewards but available to all. Sure maybe have some generic stuff but not something that is as "wanted" as Angel(ic?) wings/demon wings, trenchcoats, etc....

    Will I quit or throw tantrums that this body slider/changer will be in the booster pack if it goes live as is? No. I just don't like the decision and maybe...just maybe, the devs can/will change their minds and get a cool bonus power up in its place. To be honest, if there was a bonus power I'd probably buy the pack even though I really don't care about costume pieces (not that much at least). I buy things for the powers and/or badges

    I played with the new costume stuff for about 2-5 mins last night/this morning (at midnight ) and I do agree the cc emotes are great and the ability to switch from 4 ft. male to 8 ft. male or whatever you want is great....

    Let it be noted that I didn't ask if our post count will be transferred over or not. I actually do NOT want to have the post count shown and I wouldn't be totally against the reg. date not showing either. Too many people have 'ego' battles because of both of those (less of the reg. date though from what I've seen).

    Edit: vbulletin...obviously I can only wait and see but....I'm not enthusiastic about vbulletin :/

    Good debuffs and some minor control (depends on what you call 'control' ).

    One issue with TA is that most (at least of the good debuffs) are location-centered. So if you team a lot with people who do knockbacks all the time/a good portion...just try to warn them/ask them to keep it within the location of the debuffs (or just prepare to use/put the debuff in a better location).

    I know my TA/A was a huge pain when I tried to solo with him...he was...so............slow....granted I, at the time, was doing a 'team only' type of build so only had 2-3 attacks but...lethal dmg is still resisted quite a bit by almost every mob. With dual builds it shouldn't be so bad now (since you could have one for solo'ing and one for teams).

    TA/A is fun...but just beware that your attacks and/or even the debuffs may fire right when/as the mob(s) die.
