And I had issues with HeroStats and Glycerine in trying to update the CiT site with the new badges. Glycerine would look like it was working (when I logged in to my main char. EI, it'd show the info for the char./etc in Glycerine) but then it'd just lose all the info for the char./wouldn't accept badges when I clicked on them in the game.

HeroStats I haven't used in quite a while but downloaded and installed all the latest updates and it picked up that I got the new badges but it never sent it to the CiT site (I did click on 'send badge data now' link in the menu). I tried the "test login" button in HeroStats for CiT but it said, "couldn't login"...yet I know it's the correct login.

Made a DS/Poison earlier today. Got him to lvl 3 before I switched back to my main to do badge hunting :P

Just a side question. I've never installed any map packs before...is there a way to 'un-install' the map pack? From what I gather this map pack just places new img files in the coh directory....so really no software to un-install from Add/Remove Programs....but was curious. I would most likely get rid of the map pack once I get the shiny badges

I have new badges to send to CIT but glycerine isn't working I downloaded the newest version but nothing bah

Hmm, well thanks for the input.

Main reason I wanted a 'cheap' laptop was mainly because it would be used just while I was at work. I posted about my situation in the Liberty server forums but suffice to say, I have usually about 2-2.5 hours of 'free time' that I would like to play CoH. But I don't think it'll be worth it...maybe I'll just continue to watch dvds that I bring in instead

I think I'll save my money and get a nice new desktop PC

So you don't think the laptop that I have linked would run CoH well?

And again, I'm not expecting awesome graphics...I'm used to playing CoH in all of the lowest graphical settings.

I really like the new changes with the MMs. The pets zoning with you along with the AoE buffs is nice; however, it could always be 'better'.

I'd like to see that change to where the endurance cost is based off of how many of your pets are getting buffed/upgraded.

If not that, I wouldn't be opposed to having 2 separate powers: 1 being a single-target upgrade/buff and the other the AoE upgrade/buff. Although saying that, if they do that, they'd have to make the upgrade powers have a really fast recharge time. Having 2 "extra" powers...no extra enhancement slots to go around....so...*shrugs* something to think about.

Oh and Ninjas are fine as a MM primary! My first MM was a Ninja/DM MM. Although I will say with Ninjas....you most likely want a secondary with an AoE heal...in this case either Dark Miasma, Thermal or Pain.

Ninjas do die a lot when facing mobs that do lots of AoEs (looks at Scrapyarders or Earth Thorn Caster CoT minions...Longbow Flamethrowers...etc...).

I don't see the harm with the adding the ability to do so.

Would I do it though? No...only about 2 people that are my 'friends' on FB play CoH..the rest; eeh...they're not people who play games so they wouldn't know what it was about/wouldn't care.

Hmm, I was just looking for a laptop as well. Although I'm looking for something like $600 or less price range. Only 'real' requirement is that I can either add a mobile broadband card to it (internally) or I can just buy a USB verizon broadband stick (which I'm probably leaning to anyways).

The buff pets may not be a huge boost but like I always think/say, "any little bit helps".

I now always choose the +def/+endurance recovery buff pet (although on some I chose the +resist/dmg one :/).

As a MM, if you don't have any attacks from your primary than the +dmg won't help you at all (or very, very little). The buffs from the buff pet do not apply to your pets; only to you (just fyi).

Up to you obviously but, from my perspective I'd rather always have an endurance recovery boost no matter what.

Oh and yes they do die a lot but...sometimes it's actually nice to have the pet out...it seems to have quite the taunt aura or something because the enemies usually target it first even if you attacked the mob first :P It's kind of nice for a 'squishy' AT (not so much for a MM but).

I, for one, do not approve of anything of this sort.

This is one of the huge reasons why I didn't like WoW (when I was in the beta for it 5+ years ago). I get a quest, "Go talk to x person in y city." I can find the city easily enough (since it was on the map) but finding that one person? ugh....annoying!

It depends on the character that I'm making but usually I do take the rez powers (usually not right away though).

On my DS/Poison MM that I'll be making when i17 goes live, I'll be getting the ally rez just in case I team (plus the fact that I love the animation (before and after :P)).

I usually don't mind if people don't take the rez (or any other power like SB or what have you); my issue is when you have a buff power and don't use it (like having SB or the FF bubbles/sonic bubbles/etc and not buffing peeps).

So now that I have a full-time job (hooray! only took a few...long months ), I'm looking at possibly getting a laptop of some sort. My hours are from 4pm-1am and there is "a lot" of opportunities to at least web surf if not play CoH...but...I can't really do that on the company's network (going through a proxy atm)...

So if I do get a laptop I'd have to get a mobile/cell card so that I can use Verizon's phone towers to surf the web/play games.

I was looking at Dell's site but...everytime I 'personalized' a laptop I made the laptop more than $600/700 bucks...not looking for the most 'ub3r' laptop, just something with a mobile card and good enough specs to play CoH (doesn't have to play on high settings either....heck my home PC I play on the lowest settings available soo...).

I'm definitely looking to build my own new home desktop PC but....that can wait....laptops....well, that is more of a 'priority' I guess.....maybe...*shrugs*


Any suggestions on where to look/what would be good?
