Vet Reward Buff Pets

From a mastermind perspective I was wondering if the choice between the 2 types of buff pets (48 month Veteran’s Reward) presented a dilemma (which of these two critters is a stronger choice for a mastermind).
Both of the bonuses seem helpful on paper…but how are they in action? With both of these pets having extremely low hit points and being targetable...do they even last long enough to make a difference in combat?).
I apologize if this has been debated before…

• Defense/Recovery (Shield) +Rec, +Def - Base Defense +3.00%, Recovery Rate +1.75% (+0.08 end/second)
OR
• Resist/Damage (Power) +Dmg, +Res(all) - Damage Bonus +3.00%, Resist (all) +5.00%

The buff pets may not be a huge boost but like I always think/say, "any little bit helps".

I now always choose the +def/+endurance recovery buff pet (although on some I chose the +resist/dmg one :/).

As a MM, if you don't have any attacks from your primary than the +dmg won't help you at all (or very, very little). The buffs from the buff pet do not apply to your pets; only to you (just fyi).

Up to you obviously but, from my perspective I'd rather always have an endurance recovery boost no matter what.

Oh and yes they do die a lot but...sometimes it's actually nice to have the pet out...it seems to have quite the taunt aura or something because the enemies usually target it first even if you attacked the mob first :P It's kind of nice for a 'squishy' AT (not so much for a MM but).

The blue pet is much more useful. If you call it between battles it will help you recover for the next one. The red pet is only helpful during battles and foes love to target these pets early on in the fight.

If you summon them in view and in front they can get the alpha hit too.
