All we do know is that it is a new Epic Archetype that is coming soon (coming soon translation = between 1 year and 20 years from now, hehe)
[/ QUOTE ]
Yeah, and from what's said, it doesn't sound very heroic!

EATs arent just for CoH you know -
You're incredible. You can write both the greatest comedy and drama stories Ive ever read. I'd make a character on your server, but I'm absolutly terrible at staying dedicated to alts.
-
Lol, it always takes me so long to notice the date.
"Jurrasik isnt spawning in Crey's Folley? But he was just up yesterday!" -
/cry
I just dinged 25 last night. I have extreme difficulty making alts. Unless I fall into a coma until August, I'm gonna miss out on all the sweet content. I wonder if the Devs are considering the 30-40 thing. Or maybe Statesman will cave and approve the flashback system (Go Positron!) -

I like the art but the story doesn't make any sense.
There's a spell on the city that "suppresses super powers". It evidently doesn't do anything to the war walls (some pretty elite tech there), the guns wielded by the thugs, or cars. This means that it's very, very selective. And what about natural origin MA/SR scrappers who just know kung fu? Why would they be at anything less than full effectiveness? If guns work, why can't AR blasters just keep shooting? What about heroes whose powers are inextricably linked to their existence, like magical entities or androids like Bastadel (ok, they're probably just dead)? Why is Positron still generating anti-matter if that was his superpower?
Then we're told that 6 weeks later, the city is happy and peaceful and being cleaned up by "Arachnos drones". Life for the civilians is completely back to normal, but the only heroes in the city are hiding in fear of their lives. Super powers work everywhere else in the world but not in Paragon.
What?
Exactly what kind of drugs are the government and the civilians smoking? If I lived in that city, I'd be RUNNING for the exits. There's an unknown spell on the city - does that affect my cancer treatments, my cell phone, or any of the reverse-engineered Ritki tech being integrated into commercial products? If I was the president, I would scrounge up whatever military I had left from the war and send it to secure the place and get everyone out. If I lived anywhere else in the world I would drop everything and figure out how to make sure what happened to Paragon doesn't happen to me next. Superpowers get suppressed, a bunch of people die, some Arachnos guy sends in robots to control the place...and it's business as usual?
I don't buy it.

That last part is really confusing. I'm sure some heroes still have their skills (but not their powers), and the anti-matter is probably that which was stored in his suit, not freshly generated. But the final part is really stupid. Immediatly after the heroes get nerfed, a bunch of weird spider drones start controlling the city. Doesn't that strike the people as suspicious. Those little robots could be gathering information, planting cameras, and setting up the bomb.
Two other problems:
-If the suit is leaking anti-matter, shouldnt it explode the second it leaves the suit and makes contact with the air? Air is matter you know
-Sister Psyche is a b**** -

I guess I'm in the minority here, but I didn't much care for it. Manticore's narration sounded too melodramatic. I also found it really hard to like the characters. Statesman was condescending in the fight scene, Manticore seemed only too eager to jump into States' shoes as leader, Sister Psycho wasn't too bad considering what she went through, but Synapse just seemed like a whiney bum. I did like Positron, as he seemed to be the only one of the 'heroes' that actually thought of the others.
I dunno, I hope they back off of the character flaws in following issues and focus more on the Surviving 8 doing daring acts of daring do.
Flame me if you must, but please...
Have the decency to bring marshmallows.

I kinda agree with you here. I based what I said with the belief that this is only a set-up of the plot. If the whole story were like this, well, I wouldnt mind too much if Blue King came back. But as long as the story picks up and the characters go through anger managment, it has the potential to live up to it's namesake. -
I agree, the new comic beats the crap out of Blue King's.
Does anyone seem to respect our iconic heroes a little less now? Sister Psyche is a real b****, States has a bit of a superiority complex, and Synapse is a bum. But yeah, this isn't the golden age, I guess they need to be a little more real.
On a side note, do the developers check in on Top Cow to make sure they like the plot now that they are using the Surviving 8? -
Maybe I'm being too simpilisitc but...
Zeus's Lightning + Incarnate = Zeus Incarnate?
I was fooling around with the concept the other day to make a character who's body was inhabited by the ancient spirit of Aries. Could Statesman be the same? -

At the end of the video you can just see Positron giving Synapse a Rez. He'll be OK...
[/ QUOTE ]
I don't see a rez anywhere, the last time i see Positron is when he missed his shot at the girly person
[/ QUOTE ]
It's right after Synapse gets rag dolled in to the lot of 'em. Positron fires off a Radiant Aura, Statesman runs over and Positron proceeds with the Rez. It happens kind of fast, so you probably missed it.
[/ QUOTE ]
Give us a screenie of it or something. I watched it 4 times and didnt see a thing. -

That was Statesman running over to check his pulse, but gets interrupted by Sirocco. The last time you see Positron is when he gets nailed by Synapse's body (Corpse?) -
Hehe, I watched Sirocco nose crunch 4 or 5 times.
Isn't anyone else a little worried that at the end it says Coming "Soon" -

After watching the E3 movie of CoV today I realized one thing...He was getting tossed around like he was dead, Statesmen tried to see if he was alive but was interrupted before he could...So when CoV hits the stores does that mean that Synapse will no longer be in the game and maybe that new guy will take his place. Dunno really just speculating.
[/ QUOTE ]
Well, I talked it over with a few of my inside sources within cryptic (Who shall be referred to as "NotPositron" and "MuggaTea"), and they stated that Synapse will indeed be removed from the game. Apparently, Germany has recently enacted laws that make it illegal to display anything with men in blue suits with white markings who's name starts with S, ends with E, and has ynaps in the middle.
...So yeah, it's all a ploy to appease those dirty penguin sledding, moose riding, ramen eating Europeans.
[/ QUOTE ]
Are you serious about him being removed? -
That trailer was AWSOME
But I have now lost all faith in our heroes.
Evil Team: 1 loss
Good Team: 4 losses -
GAH! Constantly i am alomost flipping out over all these official messages, only to find the post was made in Spetember! Is it the same person who keeps doing this? The Threadomancer shall die!

Damn you! I saw this and thought it was the Anniversery Event! Im glad i saw the date before i had a false joygasm.
Down with the evils of threadomancy! -

Of the active heroes that were in service at the time, the Surviving Eight were the only real, true heroes who survived.
[/ QUOTE ]
I guess the lazy/cowardly [censored] who sat out the war don't count. -
The Surviving Eight (Seven? Six?) are the heroes who survived the Rikti Wars. THese are the heroes who assign task forces. Ive noticed in the manual it says eight, in the comic (#11) it says seven, and someone on the boards once said six. Can someone clarify how many and exactly who the heroes are?
The ones i know are
Positron
Synapse
Numina
Sister Psyche
Bastion/Citadel
Manticore
Statesman (Does he count?) -
Hehe, I'll most likely do the same thing when I get married (with a RL wedding too of course). Though it's most likely not gonna happen, you should try to have a GM supervise the event to keep out the brats ruining the party. Ill try to make an alt and attened.
