My point is that Dominators aren't nullfied simply by the presence of one (or even multiple) Empaths - by the same token, neither are Stalkers, nor any other villain AT.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Well if it isnt breaking the game for doms lets just make ALL buffs self stack.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Yes. Because stacked mez resistance is the same as stacked shields with 25% res.

Well Extremus...then I suggest you take your Dominator and joins some random teams in sirens call and do PvP ALOT every week for at least 2 month's...then come back and post your results/opinions.

    [/ QUOTE ]

But part of the problem (as Ext mentioned) is most villain teams in Sirens don't seem to work together. They don't keep buffs applied, the don't spike targets etc. That's not an issue with the game, that's an issue with the players.

    No Sunday raid?
Well, I might still be around - haven't worked out my christmas activites yet ;-)

    [/ QUOTE ]

We wanted to keep doing the biweekly raids but seeing most of the organisers wanted to participate in THIS!! we decided to go for a saturday raid.

I'll be there for the one on the 8th, but probably not the 2nd. It being my birthday and stuff.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Well if sleep and the pub can keep you away I'm sure a birthday can aswell...you only turn 13 once!!

    Screw you old man!

Sounds cool. Assuming I'm awake and stuff.

    [/ QUOTE ]

This part. It's pretty late now, and I've Heroes to watch.

    [/ QUOTE ]

'xactly. Then How I Met Your Mother, then The Class. And I'll probably read some Green Lantern in between. But I might end up just not going to sleep.

    Fearesome Five

Just to let you know, the Fearsome Five is already a group of villains in DC Comics. Could get you petitioned if you actually create a SG with that name.
  8. No, it was also a PvE choice. The game was far, far too easy pre-ED.

Absorb pain, properly slotted, can bring a tank from red to full HP. An empath should never be without it.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Agreed though I really miss its pre ED days.

Worth noting here is that while AP stops you from healing yourself via instant healing powers healing over time, ie. Regen Aura, does still heal you.

I have regen aura in my build solely for this reason.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Why solely for that reason? Regen Aura is an amazing power!

except i hate that its not a toggle >.<

yeah, but if it's not a toggle, it can't be dropped in PvP.

    [/ QUOTE ]So very true.

  11. Hard to say if it was griefing, it's definately a valid (if very annoying) tactic. But if it's done repeatedly and the player actually said he had no intention of actually PvPing and was only trying to disrupt other people's fun, it could be griefing. But the only people who can decide that are the GM's. Did your friend send a petition?

Either way, as a few people have said, why not just move far away from the villain base? Can't be that hard surely?
  12. Although it's harder to test an Empathy build on Test. You really need a team to test it properly.
  13. Okay, first off, welcome to the boards.

Now onto my thoughts. If you're planning on using your attacks often, I would recommend picking up Stamina, they will eat away at your endurance. But if you're mostly teaming, you'll be healing/buffing alot of the time.

Absorb pain is actually a very nice power, but some people will disagree. I personally didn't take it on my Empath while I was leveling, I only respeced into it at level 50, but now I'd never be without it.

As for the epic, Power Mastery is definately a good choice, but not the only one. It's main selling point is really Power Build Up, which improves your heals and (some) of your buffs quite a bit, but only for a short time. Conserve power is also very useful if you're running a stamina-less build.

Psi is pretty nice, but I will warn you that the AoE sleep won't be much use if you're teaming with your wife most of the time. Fire is heavy on the AoE's, so they enemies won't stay asleep for long. The hold is nice, and Telekinesis is pretty handy, but the massive end drain means you won't be able to use it all that often without stamina.

I can't comment too much on the Psi secondary, I've never used it myself, but I'm sure someone that has will be along soon enough.
  14. Okay, a few comments here.

    * I'd drop the defence buff slots from Superior Invis, they add a grand total of 3% defence combined.
    * Add some more slots to Phantom Army, another recharge and some damage.
    * Personally, I'd slot Fortitude 3x Recharge and 3x Defence Buff. The base accuracy buff is more than enough for PvE (imo).
    * Spectral Terror needs no recharge. It's perma out of the box.
    * Swap the EndMod's in Recovery Aura for recharge. You want that up as often as possible, if you have the slots to spare, add some EndMod's later, but they're not needed that much.
    * Phantasm doesn't need the recharge. The pets last forever (I think it's forever, they may have a time limit, but if they do it's a very, very, very, very long time). Unless the die or you zone. You'll want more damage in there.
    * I'd swap the DefBuff's in Group Invis for recharge. That offers even less defence than Superior Invis.

As you're taking Stamina so late, be prepared to carry around Catch a Breaths, and I wouldn't recomend running Superior Invis during fights - you'll run out of endurance very fast.

I`m an old school (pre i6 and Ed) invul/ energy melee level 50 Tank.

    My defences currently are :

    Rpd,
    temp inv,
    dull health
    unyeilding
    Res ele
    Res en
    invinc.
    unstop.

All (cept for the 2 res) well slotted.

Question is am i or am i not better off replacing Res en and Res El with boxing/ tough and weave?

i dont mean for s/l. That`s fine. i mean for energy or elemental or any other kind of damage.

Do those 3 mitigate my (puny) losses from the two Reses?

Thanks for any input cause this is driving me nuts.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Well tough will get you to the cap/very near the cap for S/L (Depending on how your powers are slotted). It doesn't give +Res to any other damage types.

Weave will give about 7% defence to Melee/Ranged attacks. Which includes energy.

    Superior Wounds

    [/ QUOTE ]The what now?

    [/ QUOTE ]

Hah. Hate when I do that. I was thinking Spectral and somehow typed Superior.
  17. You can always get the help of a (trusted) friend to transfer to other characters. Or use base storage.
  18. If you have both, I'd definately recommend the Ill/Emp. I'm finding mine to be great fun. Although I'd recommend you pick up Spectral Wounds if you can fit it in, very helpful for those times you can't find a team.

But it's not just for the hell of it. Maybe they were competing for control of the zone (as the developers intended when they made the zone), or maybe they were there for the increased prestige you get during the reset.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Why would you want to control the zone anyway? If im not mistaken theres few rewards for it..

    [/ QUOTE ]

To 'win' the mini-game. Or for the increased Prestige.

I'm not sure. I hardly ever go into RV tbh, and when I go to PvP zones it's mostly to PvP, not take part in the zone 'events'.

In this case I see it means not resetting the zone just for the hell of it when people are AV hunting.

Whether you like it or not, the aim of the zone is win control for your side. You can't complain if people do just that.

Well those people have no right to compain tbh. Shivans and Nukes are a part of the PvP content. If they want them, they'll have to put up with it.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Agreed, same with Exploration badges - but then again, I'm sure someone may comment that it is the same with Accolades and I disagree with that.

There's no clear line of distinction and it's easy to argue from both sides.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Yup. But with Shivans and Nukes, there is no middle ground. They are there as part of a PvP mini-game. But trying to get them, you are taking part in PvP content.
  23. [ QUOTE ]
    [ QUOTE ]

Which would end up in this argument starting up all over again. If you remove the things that people are complaining about having to go to PvP Zones for, then you remove the problem.

Obviously, keep things like the Shivans, Nukes, exploration badges. The former do relate to engaging in PvP in game-lore sense as you're taking things from the other side, just remove the Accolade requirements and the increased XP, and you've got no reason for PvE people to complain if they're in a PvP zone, as what's left will be strictly PvP related.

[/ QUOTE ]But people are complaining about shivans, nukes, and exploration badges AS WELL.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Well those people have no right to compain tbh. Shivans and Nukes are a part of the PvP content. If they want them, they'll have to put up with it.

Not really empath I think either is fine just as long as there is consitency between coh/cov.

    [/ QUOTE ]

But is isn't consistent. I agree, it wouldn't be as bad if there were seperate PvP Accolades on both sides.
