  3. By the way, I was referring to why my custom mobs gave 99%+ XP Monday, and now after the patch with the same powers and settings were at like 80-82%. I had to basically make them take all powers ( Extreme Settings basically ), to get the 100% again. Slightly furious about that is what I was remarking on.

Anyone else notice their custom mobs getting lower xp compared to pre-patch?

Honestly I could care less what it does, but it was nice not having to click "Accept" or "Yes", on it all the time because I welcome the random buff. Maybe an option to see prompt every time or auto accept/deny would be beneficial to the masses

    • Fixed pathing problems in the first room in the Vanguard Base (Interior) map.
    • Guest Author: Quest for Magic: The last objective map icon will now work.
    • It is no longer possible to create an un-completeable mission with defendable objects.
    • Guest Author: Stolen Legacy Part 2 and Part 3: Correct some typos in the contact text.
Shame you don't come clean about some other AE nerfs/tweaks you made.

I honestly don't think these are the only things you guys did to AE with this patch.
  6. On any mastermind you are going to want to jack up your HP as much as possible. On a dark you should get over 1100hp easily with Accolades and Set Bonuses - that would be my primary concern. And with most of /DM's powers they are recharges, so that would be secondary focus is to get my recharge to 50% w/o Hasten. Aside from those, your typical slotting of pets and powers should be sufficient - especially in PvE

  8. Just a reminder this event is still planned for Tuesday. Please try to show up 15-20 minutes early.
  9. I really don't mind what time we start these shenanigans. I would say get at least 4 of the teams ready, do a "Best 2 out of 3" ranking tournament one open Saturday night or something and then as the other groups get their act together they can challenge lowest rank and get worked into the ladder.

I don't think the tournament should be started for 2 teams, but on the flip side it shouldn't be held up for all 6-8 teams to get their act together over the next month. Pressure your more prominent teams to get ready and get on test and build off a solid core, the rest will follow.

At the least, make a notation that such a tactic can/will result in a nullification of the match results and a replay of the match until it is done so legitimately.

And on the note of how line-ups should be submitted. I don't really care. Counter-picking is really boring and is nowhere near as strategic or exciting as barrier makes it out to seem.

Edit: Add a rule that allows for the OPTION of a 20 minute official if both teams agree to it. While I'm sure plenty will say now that such a rule is unnecessary, it'd be nice to at least have. I know I personally asked practically every team that we challenged/fought on the ladder to do a 20 minute match before agreeing to 10. Plus it'd be nice to see a 20 minute official again, but that's me.
Maybe play the first 2 matches for 20 minutes, then the third one, if needed as a tie breaker, will be 10 minutes?

I'd pay 149.99 this month to see all our complaints listened to and acted upon and for PvP to get revisited so we can see why they nerfed it like so.

This game is great for the most party, there is a reason we keep coming back.. The lack of attention the problem areas receive is disheartening though.

I understand most of these guys can probably get a team and am really exagerating a bit to make a point. There are some that are not going to get a team. There are some that don't want to go to test. There are some that want something way more casual. Plus as we have all seen pvp is a revolving door that seems to have more people leaving than coming. The only way to have a continuous feed to replace the people that leave from ladder teams is to make sure something is organized and promoted that is geared towards new pvprs.

Downloading test, duping IO's, trying out for teams etc is a bit much to expect from a brand new pvp'r. People keep mentioning examples of the old days where it was done but guess what pvp isn't what it used to be. There are not people banging at doors begging to pvp. I was only on the ladder a little over a year before it crumbled and in that short time I seen that most teams were not recruiting and were full a good portion of the time. I seen TONS of people apply and not get on teams because they were too new, not known or not good enough. That was during a time when pvp was declining already.

We have to be honest and realistic. We as a Community in general are still at the point of having to beg people to give pvp a try. There is no mad dash begging for more pvp. There is no huge entourage of people begging to get the opportunity.
Because we are not showing them a reason to. What is the PvP Community done in the last year? Nothing, it was just 3 months ago that things finally started to happen again.

Give people a reason and a medium and they will come.
  20. PUTS FOOT DOWN

Ugh, ok, this is kinda getting out of hand here ladies and gents.

What none of us, aside from a few, realize is that a Ladder is self supporting and self sufficient. Actually, holding normal kickballs on the side promotes PvP in a fashion of where decent "new" players in kickballs might get picked up and get noticed by Ladder Teams. All in all, if done properly the Ladder will/should be self supporting and self ran by captains.

I am not a good player, I have gotten somewhat better over the years with some experience and as legit players left my rankings went up. But, 2 years ago I found a team for test ( Integrity and lolA.S.S.). I was a no namer from Infinity and stayed on Infinity for most of the Ladder while everyone else was on Freedom. Point is : If people really want to PvP they will find the teams and the teams will accept people based on notability and skill they have seen from kickballs/other events.

All in all we need to focus on getting a Ladder off the ground in the best and most efficient way possible while the summer is still fresh. Also, support and create PvP Events : Kickballs, Fight Nights, etc. These are "Feeder Programs" for the ladder and should be treated as such. The purpose of the D6 team and league was almost a disignated kickball of sorts, having new people in the mix with "veterans" to catch on to techniques and PvP game play.

However, saying we have to spread all these kids out or take them all is nonsense for a Ladder. Invoking a "Pity Draft" rule isn't helping anyone, not the team and not the player, and most certainly not the Ladder. There are teams out there who will take new players in hopes of turning them into better ones, and there are teams out there who take the best and strive for CHAMPIONSHIPS (<3 Silit). Its just how the system works, people are in it for different things and you can only hope people get what they want out of the system, in most regards.

With that being said, a new player should show some initiative in wanting to participate in High-End PvP : such as attendance and performance at kickballs, pvp events, and consistancy in zones all strike a bell for me. I would not expect anyone to HAVE to take someone because we have to put newbies on teams. That person could NEVER show up but take a spot of someone of equal skill but with more dedication; once again, not fair or helpful to anyone.

On the flip side of this though, we have to look at ourselves and expect more from our Veterans. We need to be accepting of people who show the initiative, but just not accept every Jane, Dick and Harry who signs up. We need to host more Kickballs and PvP Events and be more of a scene in PvP Zones, all the time looking for "new blood" for teams. If "newbies" see us in the zones and always hosting events curiousity will kill the Kat(?) and they will start to take initiative.

I think people are confusing what needs to be expected out of a Ladder with what was expected out of the League. The League was designed to gather up what was left of the existing PvP Community with new blood and try to make the community bigger. A Ladder should be looking at taking that community and making it competitive, we are not going through Kindergarten again.

The Ladder should be competitive, yet accepting at the same time, its up to us to make the competition and initiate the "feeder programs" in hopes to inspire interesting. Its up to the "new players" to come to us in hopes of learning more about PvP and furthering skill. And then its up to us to help integrate these players in. Never down the road should be have to accept everyone and teach everyone the ropes in the competitive environment that should be the Ladder. Honestly, if we have to "Potty Train" these kids all over again then apparently our first attempt was a failure, its time to grow up and move on with what we have.

Honestly if you look at it most teams will have at least one "Diamond In The Rough" that will be on their lineups, some teams maybe more (e.i. RA FTW - where the Captains get farmed). But its all in the hopes achieving a sense of unity with your team and community as a whole.

    That is just my $0.02.

RA FTW is recruiting btw :P

While I disagree that "introduction" is overrated, I will agree that retention should be a very high priority. The problem with retention is everything is going against PvPrs to stay, PvP hasn't been looked at in almost 5 issues and if its not the dev's running us out it's our own community.
