Set Bonus Targets for Demon/Dark

Hey guys,

Just wondering since hving only played on MM to 50 before making my Demon/Dark (Bots/Pain) and not bothering to IO her out I find myself with a bit of a conundrum, I have no idea what to aim for.

Other ATs the choice is fairly obvious, or if not, then it is a choice between 2, but for my MM, I can't see what to slot for, she's made a cool 250mil over her career, which was mostly luck with stuff she couldn't use, and even has a hetacombe to sell, so should net a bit more, givng me (imo) decent resources to trick her out with.

Currently running her has a Demon/Dark/Soul mainly since I love Ghost Widow's hold animation, and my only development with IOs is the 2 resistance procs for pets, and hold procs in Petrifying Gaze, and Corruption.

Not looking for you guys to pump a build out for me, but to point me in the right direction. She's PvE only, since I don't like PvP and don't want to sacrifice slots getting too much KB proection in. And will mainly be used for running High End TFs with little exemping in, aiming for MO badges where possible.

thanks,

MJ

Personally I aim for softcapped S/L on all my MMs, but my builds require the Scorp Shield and I take it you want to stick with GW as your patron.

I'd also think about sticking in the pet def uniques as it will stack with the Prince's natural defenses as well as your -tohit from Dark. Beyond that every build benefits from more recharge.

If you go for a tankerminding style like I do with my bots/traps, the best bonuses are +HP, +regen, defense and to a lesser extent, +recharge. Outside of that, very few set bonuses actually help you since your pets are what does the dirty work.

If you don't tankermind, then I suggest forgetting about set bonuses. Just frankenslot to full effectiveness.

On any mastermind you are going to want to jack up your HP as much as possible. On a dark you should get over 1100hp easily with Accolades and Set Bonuses - that would be my primary concern. And with most of /DM's powers they are recharges, so that would be secondary focus is to get my recharge to 50% w/o Hasten. Aside from those, your typical slotting of pets and powers should be sufficient - especially in PvE

changing patron is possible, though I have fallen in love with Opressive Gloom too in Ghost Widow and it would certainly open up a few power picks, since all i owuld get owuld be the shield i think. and maybe Power Boost, if it affects things well for a MM

I went for 30s in Ranged Defense as well as Smashing, Lethal, and Energy. That generally covers about 99% of everything ever thrown at you, ever. Against most foes, your copious -tohit will more than make up the remaining 15% to cap you. Against archvillains, a purple, plus the PToD-diminshed effects of those same spells should do it too. After that, enough +recharge to make hasten permanent - this will also get gems like howling twilight, hell on earth, and power boost (from patron) down to usable recharges and allow you ton construct an uniterupted st attack chain once you include twilight grasp. Secondary priorities are health and mana (sorry, "stamina"), just like, really, every character in every other game ever played. Accuracy is always nice too since you ahv emore things that actually need to hit the enemy than most masterminds, but its a very distant 5th to the above.

EDIT: Thats all PvE, of course - fr PvP, all the usuial stuff; +hp, +recharge, +end, ECT. Just remember there's no point in stacking defence and otherwise go with what would normally seem right. Or ask in the PvP forums for more thorough advice.
