Quote:ThisI would love to see animal mounts (horses, fiery horse, unicorns, sabertooth tigers, lions, bears, and raptors) Then there's vehicles (motorcycles, unicycles, rocket bikes, hover bikes, a flaming bike) Things you can fly on (a cloud, swarm of insects, chunk of rock/earth, pegasus, glowing energy disk, a metal disk) These are some of the things I would love to see thrown into the game for additional travel options.
For the slides, you can also do so much more than just ice. You can also have energy slides, and even a rainbow slide for those who want to RP (give them a unicorn head in a new beast pack...lol). -
Quote:Those were two of my favoriteFor the LIFE of me, I could not figure out what to do for Synapse and Citadel. I wracked my brains for HOURS trying to think of how they'd go. My husband suggested Citadel going mano-a-mano with a Goliath, and InfamousBrad (shoutout!) suggested Synapse going out doing something stupidly heroic.

Quote:That is ridiculously cool, nice job as usualFrom video conception on Friday afternoon during the U-stream chat at SDCC to completion as of this morning! WHEW!
As always, there's a version on my YouTube channel.
The downloadable version can be nabbed off my website's Videos page.
(NOTE: by September 1st, my site will have a new domain, so if you've bookmarked the Samuraiko.com site, you'll need to update your links! More on that later...)
Hope you guys enjoy it!

My only complaint is that Winter 2011...I hope it's out before then -
Only one scene during the credits with Agent Simmons but that's it. I stayed through til the end and was expecting Wheelie and his buddy to climb out of the crash or something, but nothing happens after the credits.

Quote:Thank you for the link. I was having trouble opening up the launcher too and this link worked great since I just couldn't get the launcher to update itself to the new version.Need to know a little more information here; what OS are you running? 32 or 64-bit? If it's 7 or Vista do you have UAC enabled? Did you use the most recent version of the Launcher installer from ftp://ftp.ncsoft.com/Launcher/NCsoftLauncherSetup.exe ?

I get 57 in about 5 days, then 60 in April on my main account. Next month I get the 48 on my 2nd account, and then in March I get the 36 on my third account. I love having them staggered like that as I get a vet reward every month on at least one account

That was...wow. That should be the trailer, if we ever get Incarnates. Shoot, hire this artist to make ads for this game. Well done!
All those videos are well done!

I agree...put Dark_Respite on the payroll already -

So....since you're answering all sorts of other questions Lighthouse, what about being able to transfer across accounts under the same master NC account with this? If you don't know, just an 'I don't know' would be nice so we know at least someone's reading the posts and know its a concern
[/ QUOTE ]
We're aware of the desire for cross account transfers. However I don't have any public statement on it, nor would I hazard a guess if or when or under what conditions it would be implemented.
[/ QUOTE ]
As someone who has three accounts, this would be an awesome feature for those of us who can't stop making alts -

Serdar Copur:You will probably not see any new archetypes in Issue 10; however there will be a great deal of other fun content to enjoy.

Probably huh? Doesn't sound like "never" to me. -
Would also be nice if we got the trenchcoats too

Ok, first off I heard you only see the percentages of how effective enhancements are when you try to slot them, rather than how effective enhancement types are while in the attack.
The problem is; with a respec it means that the only way we can figure out effectiveness is to delete enhancements that are already in the powers. This is costly, especially on test, when we don't know if we need to.
Any help would be appreicated.
[/ QUOTE ]
I was thinking of this myself. Now, if there was a way to always have respecs available on the training room, that would certainly make things easier.
Basically make it so that you ALWAYS have a free respec available and can do a /respec whenever you want.
The only way to do that now I believe is to copy over a character to test that has done any of the respec trials and use those on test. You can then keep copying them over and over and constantly doing the respeccing.
Just an idea for the devs to think about. Not sure if it can be done or not, but being able to have a respec whenever you want would certainly be helpful. Since it's a test system, I can't see the harm, if it's possible to do it, that is. -

No, it's a perfectly good example. Both Ford and Cryptic made a product and are asking you for money. If you don't pay the money, you don't get the product.
This is completely reasonable.

Okay, I read you as equating "upgrading CoH by purchasing CoV" to "upgrading your car by purchasing factory options." Which wouldn't be the case, but also not what you're saying.
To say that CoV is the "2006 model of CoH" works better for me, and I understand and agree with your point.
My entire reason for posting is Emmert's statement:
[ QUOTE ]
The most we ever said was - "someday we'd like to do bases."
[/ QUOTE ]
Because it seemed that he meant "someday we'd like to do bases for CoH." Which would be silly because they obviously *can* do bases. It's apparent that what he actually meant was "we'd like to do bases for extra profit."
There's obviously nothing wrong with that, but still disappointing to me (I've been playing CoV beta and from what I've experienced, it's not worth $49.99 to those who've already spent over a year playing this game.)
Anyway, not trying to whine. Just pointing out what seemed inconsistencies which have now been cleared up.
Cheers!
[/ QUOTE ]
I was thinking back to beta and I remember them saying "we'd like to make bases shortly after release". They never said "we'd like to make bases for COH", and COV wasn't announced yet at the time if I remember correctly. That's probably where the confusion is coming from. -
I tried to update my Joe Chott hero planner with the text you have above and it doesn't work anymore.
I get "typo" error messages when starting it up now. -
My Grav/Kin is only lvl 29, but here's my observations.
- Keep wormhole how it is on live, but increase the disorient. Usually when I pull a mob with it, I immediately hold them anyway. If I miss, I'd like to have the disorient be a little longer.
- Lift is not worthless. What I usually do is a combo of lift/air superiority after most stuff is locked down with GDF and GD. If I don't miss, the mob never gets a shot off. I'm hitting AS as they hit the ground from lift, and when AS hits, it knocks them down and lift is recharged. It's a great combo.
- Another good combo of mine is GD, siphon power, propel, lift. GD prevents knockback so propel and lift keep them there. I'll even throw in some AS shots as well. Once I have it slotted up for dmg, it should do pretty well.
I just think some people are a little impatient. I have a lot of patience which is why I don't mind playing my controllers. We're not damage dealers, we shouldn't be. The dmg to Propel does help us defeat mobs faster, but if you have them held down for awhile, you can just spam GD & propel. -
Just when I think I'm out, they pull me back in...
This is why I love this dev team. Occassionally they do make mistakes, but they're the most open and reasonable dev team in any MMO I've played where they're willing to compromise in situations like this.

I hate to say it, but it looks to me like bosses are not what needed modification in this game.
The other AT's I can't speak to, as I don't play any in the level range affected by the boss mods. It doesn't look like tanks are bothered much by it, just as a first impression. I suspect controllers are highly build-dependent on whether bosses are 'too hard' or not also.
Overall, I'd say it's a bad change. Truly doesn't affect the awesome power a good group can bring to bear at all, only hurts the casual players and non-power-gamers, and folks who like to solo most of their content.
[/ QUOTE ]
I play a lot of controllers, so I can only really comment on them.
I'll also state that I fully admit that I'm a COH fanboi. Nothing these devs have ever done in the past has ever made me feel like I do today. I absolutely love everything else in Issue 3 except what they did to the bosses.
With that said, soloing for me is no longer possible in this game. I play odd hours and grouping is not possible for me at times. I also have had very bad experiences with pick-up groups, so I tend to avoid them most of the time.
I feel increasing the bosses was a stupid and well, I'll just say it, retarded, decision. It goes against so much of what's been said about the game in the past by the developers.
All AT's should be able to solo? Until this change, I felt that was true. I was proof of it as a controller, and I'm only lvl 28 and don't even have my pets yet.
In the past, I could take on bosses and survive a lot of the encounters. Not all of them, but I would win more than I lost. Now after update 3, I can barely beat any.
I honestly didn't mind it too much when I would face orange conned bosses in my missions. Sure they have more hp's, and I can solo them still with some effort and a lot of patience.
But some of my missions lately have been having red and purple conned bosses in them. I had a mission today that put me up against a lvl 30 boss that conned purple to me. I tried to fight him but wasn't doing enough damage since he would recharge faster than I could hurt him.
I missed one hold and then he single shotted me. No amount of tactics or inspirations would have helped me. So now in order to finish this mission, I need to wait until some of my friends are on to help.
Gone are the days of trying to do a mission on my lunch break.
I just think the devs really dropped the ball on this one. They didn't want to make an "easier" setting on the difficulty slider because they felt people would run out of missions and just street sweep. Well, hello, that's what some of us essentially have to do now since you decided to put bosses in so many missions.
Maybe after 32 it will be possible to solo again since I'll have my pets, but at this rate, I'll never get there.
Well, at least they have one less fanboi now. -

I am really looking forward to the Global Chat addition, if it works the way I think the description says it does I will be able to play one of my many characters on other servers and still be able to chat with my friends who seem to only stick to Champion.
The Private Chat channel may or may not work over multiple servers. (I hope it does) But being able to see when friends come online on a different server will be a huge help as well. I will be able to pick a character and play it and see when a friend I want to play with comes on. So I can then switch Servers and go hang out with my friends.
[/ QUOTE ]
I agree...I can't wait for the Global Chat. I have three servers filled up with alts that I never play because I'd miss out on talking with my friends as I play. Now I won't have this problem. -
Also, it leaves the door open for viruses to be spread. I used to play Jumpgate and there was a problem where a player had created something "for the community" to use to help with the game, and it turned out to be a virus that he was spreading because he was about to get banned or was sick of the game or something like that. The exact details are sketchy merely because it was so long ago, but you get the idea.
Here's another perspective...
Let's say someone created a mapping program that worked great, but behind the scenes was stealing your keystrokes to get your user name and password to the game. Things like that would and may possibly happen if Cryptic allows mods here. -
* Many continuing sound effects now fade.
That's taken from the patch notes for Issue #2 on test. See, the devs do listen to the players.
Also remember, that even if you change your client with something as harmless as the map mod you guys are talking about, that could be mistaken by other users as giving an unfair advantage to someone else in the game. Players in MMO's really hate that unfortunately.
