So I read about the first attack in tanker secondaries giving a resistance debuff in one of the posts, but I don't see any reference to a bruising power in-game, and the detailed info for Jab shows no such thing.

Yeah that's been bugging me too. Was going to go reinstall, but it might just be broken
-
It's full of cheeze, but it's standard enemies and there's pretty harsh limits on number of ambushes and such you can have in a mission. Apparently, a scrapper beat it on X8, I believe with AVs turned on, which I wouldn't have thought possible. The last AV is custom, but isn't as hard as a lot of the regular AVs in the game (except of course that he's level 54).
-
I'm impressed you beat it with a scrapper on X8 but I guess enough purple insps overcomes everything heh. Super, super impressed let me restate! And with AVs turned on? What powersets did you use?
I was actually playing no insps no temps, but on my scrapper on X1 it was often like this:
Crap, rularuu spawned in choke point. Buildup ->Raaarrrguhhhhhhhh. Hospital, buildup, Raaaarrrguhhhh. Hospital, buildup, Raaarrrrrrugheughehe... and stay down! And yeah I spent lives just pulling vanguard ambushes and such out of the way. Pulling a bunch of ambushers to a corner and dying is an excellent use of a life heh.
Someday I want to get a team together and slug it out with all that stuff. -
well if anyone has a hero who wants to trade pillboxes with me, let me know. I want to get back heroside soon.
Woo, got it. Thanks. -
I have an extreme difficulty challenge mission that I just updated:
Aeon's Army Extra Hard
It's about as hard as you can make a mission on a small map with only one AV. Well, I suppose it could be made harder with custom mobs, but I wanted to stick to those already found in the game for the most part. Maybe after more incarnate abilities are available I'll have to use some custom enemies.
Someday I want to get a team together and wipe everything out, but there aren't too many teams into doing things with high difficulty and low reward. -
yeah I'm not so much of an expert on most AT's, but if someone can beat it by swarming it with pets, by confusing everything to death aggro free, or some other method, I'm all for hearing about that too. I only posted in the tanker and scrapper forums because I didn't want to spam, but I really wanted to put it in the controller forum too.

I updated my Architect challenge mission for newly extra-powerful incarnate characters. Since the only people likely ever to play it are here on the boards, here it is:
Aeon's Army Extra Hard
I ran out of time on my tank with 4 guys left at X8 difficulty, no temps or inspirations. Beat it with my scrapper in 35 minutes on X1. I don't know how big a multiplier I can go on the scrapper, but probably not too much harder. I don't think any amount of inspirations or temp powers could let a scrapper beat it on X8.
So if you want to give a go to the hardest mission in all AE, barring archvillains, check out Aeon's Army Extra Hard. Enemies are always 54, so setting enemy level does nothing. There will be one archvillain at the end if you have them turned on or if you're in a group, and he's a squishball for an AV, but he does deal damage. -

thanks. If that's my best option, I can probably find someone to do that with

I pop into RV every now and then hero side and broadcast for a team, usually don't find one, and then leave. Whenever I've gone into the zone, there has never been any functional pvp that I could find. I think one single time, I got someone to actually duel me long enough for them to lose; other than that, I get jumped by multiple people, and anyone who gets low life just leaves, heals, and comes back to join the gang bang later. This is entirely useless to me.
I'm taking my main villain side for a couple of days to collect temp powers and I'd like to get an arachnos mini blaster. Is there a time when there are people who would invite me to a team and then actually collect victory points, or a time when I can get 4 duels with people who will actually stay to the end of the duel?
My main is unfortunately a stone tank, which is not so exciting in pvp. Teleport suppression makes jumping around less than satisfying. It's probably actually slightly better than other travel powers for escaping, but it's horrible for pursuing, so it's not like I can catch anyone who doesn't want to finish the fight. Also, it seems there is a strange protocol in the pvp zone where I'm not supposed to interfere with other people's fights, and in any reasonably even fight, all the enemies run, but when they have 3+ people, or at the very least a psionic plus a buddy, suddenly they're all bloodthirsty. With diminishing returns, it's uselsess to fight that, so I just run and zone.
sorry for rambling. Want arachnos mini blaster. Don't want to spend hours of wasted time in pvp zone in unworkable tactical situations. What should I do? -
Yeah, the mouse pointer is tiny on a high resolution monitor. Really would be nice to have an option to enlarge the pointer.

This taskforce seemed a little bit hard the first time I ran it. A little. The first time.
Sooo easy.
5 second warning plus a sword animation before aoe's appear. That's a long time. -
I don't really care about the lore, but I am worried about incarnate abilities overshadowing powerset powers. I really hope they don't start adding extra attacks and such that people all use in lieu of the varied AT powers.
-
I'm going to say I don't believe in healer aggro. I do believe the healer may have been attacked for no reason however. Sometimes the enemies just attack erratically.
For example, one time I was on a spine scrapper and wasn't feeling very tough. My group were attacking pretty damaging enemies; don't remember what they were. Anyway, I stealthed up to the group and just sit there, waiting for the tank. The tank doesn't come, but a fire blaster came and fire-breathed the lot of them. Every last one turned and shot me.
Anyway, that's my explanation of when people report their healers being attacked - just random attacking from the enemies. -
The biggie: No geek politics. Loot appears in your inventory completely at random. True equalitarian loot distribution, and everything you could want is either available on the market or (incarnate stuff) attainable yourself without a supergroup in a reasonable period of play.

Found the problem! It is a bug.
Putting the bindloadfile at the end of the string was messing up the /afk command in my chat binds so you couldn't see words over my head while typing, so I moved it to the front. Unfortunately, that messes up the game's reading.
SHIFT+BUTTON5 "powexecname Beast Run$$bindloadfile BeastRun2.txt"
works
but
SHIFT+BUTTON5 "bindloadfile BeastRun2.txt$$powexecname Beast Run"
causes it to read bindloadfile beastrun2.tx t$ $powexecname beast run
and give an error. -
Well I need it to turn ninja run both on and off and beast run both on and off. I'm pretty sure I need a rotating bind, but I might be able to do it with 2 instead of 4 if I thought about it awhile.
I'll check the settings on the word program; I do seem to remember it doing something weird awhile ago. -
I've never been satisfied with the aggro formula the devs gave. There are times in game where you can plainly see a 6-slotted taunt with tier 4 nerve for extra taunt enhancement fail to take aggro from a character that doesn't have taunt, which by their formula, should be impossible. I have done this on my tank while also affecting the enemy with my own darkest night debuff, gloom debuff, -fly from hurl boulder, and still had an enemy not turn around. Only against some taunt-resistant enemies though, like the war walkers I mentioned earlier.
-
It seems like my old binds still work, but new ones I'm making in the same manner are having issues with the $$. For example,
SHIFT+BUTTON5 "bind_load_file BeastRun.txt$$powexec_name Ninja Run"
says blah blah cannot read beastrun.tx
and blah blah unknown command $powexec_name -
pamphlet.txt emotes pamphlet when I hit enter to talk and then cycles to the next emote.
-
Does the same thing. I've been adding bind files for the new emotes and I'm coming up with this a lot. Also, ccfeatherfly and ccfurfly don't seem to do anything. Is that the right name for them?
-
One of my keybind files looks like this:
ENTER "bind_load_file pamphlet.txt$$e lecture$$afk This is SO important!$$startchat"
The game reads that and then tells me, "unable to read in keybind file: pamphlet.tx" and "unknown command $e". Did something in the new patch mess up the way the game reads "$$"? -
Yeah I turned on the ugly cursors; it still doesn't seem so big
-
There are some enemies that taunt just seems super weak against. Mary Macomber and the war walkers in the new taskforces come to mind.
Also, shield scrappers have a ridiculously strong taunt aura, as strong as the tank version last I checked. Brutes probably share it.
