See you soon hopefully marra. Cheers for all your help recently.

    All the best.
  2. Thus proving how much I really epic fail at builds!

All I can say was that it was mostly based on a build on the US boards and was said that some of the low slotting got made up by the extreme global power recharge from the sets.

But now I can see what everyone here is saying.

And I am now doing my head in trying to come up with something else. Rather ironic for someone like mw that claims he is simply a pick up and smash to peices person.

If you don't mind losing the 6 slot bonus from thunderstrike, i would slot focus with:
    Devastation Acc/dmg/rech, acc/dmg/end/rech plus Thunderstrike: Acc/dmg/end, Acc/dmg/rech, dmg/end/rech.
And for the 6th slot, behaps the recharge bonus proc from force feedback. Would lose the 2.5 ranged def, the 4% travel bonus and 7% acc, but you'd gain 12% regen, better bonuses for focus itself and the proc.

    Just an idea tho.

Ooo! Nice! Updated the plan with that. Cheers.
  4. Looking at the advice here and at some other boards its clear the consensus is +Recharge is gold for Warshades.

As a result, I have come up with this plan.

    What do you think?

I'd change your Mind Link slotting if I were you. Although it doesnt take -recharge enhancements it does take Def/Rech set IOs and they do reduce the recharge. I had perma Mind Link at lvl 30 with 5 Def/Rech IOs and hasten. Well worth it imo especially when most Def/Rech IOs are cheap as chips.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Managed to do this on my WIP IO plan. Numbers look great.

I am still not sure what sets to get still though for everything else. Don't know which one are going to be best ether to reduce my current End Cost or improve my End Recharge to combat the heavy use.

And still unsure over whether I keep Lunge or put in Eviscerate.

  7. Ok, so late with replies due to been forced away from the game an forums on Thursday night.

I have come up with the following plan for Steel House based on your two responses. The build is pretty much what was posted but took Col advice on the Kinetic Combat, although I assume there is a reason why I could only select it with Slash.

Swapped Swift out for Hurdle just that little exra bit of jump height when traveling with Super Speed.

  8. So recently I got a fair few toons of mine to Level 50. Over the week of doing that though there were plenty of times playing were I thought that the toon I was on with at the time could be performing a lot better or in some cases was crashing and burning a lot, meaning that I had obviously screwed up the build.

So since most of my toons are at 50 now, or at least close to 50 I felt like spending some time now reviewing them all and getting advice off much better character builders out there than clearly I am capable of. Hey, I hold my hands up and admit that I am just not a numbers person and get agitated when trying to squeeze numbers out of Mids’ Designer and end up hashing the job up. Guess that’s just my mind set. I save my logic and intelligence for work. At home on the game, like a typical Scrapper, I just want to dive in and hit stuff, really hard!

Another problem I seem to have is making toons based on time consuming, deep thought out RP concepts that while look good for said concept, are horribly inefficient for PvE action.

Thus I am making a number of posts in the relevant sections of the board to get as much advice on all my toons as people are willing to give so I can learn from any obvious mistakes I have made in my builds as well as getting help from moving on from generic IO’s to IO sets which I still can’t seem to get my head around as far as to which ones to get for perks I might be after.

With all my builds, keep in mind that as I have allured to I only tend to PvE although I can’t rule out the odd bit of PvP should an RP situation call for it but otherwise not really that important to think about. I tend to want to team as equally as I sometimes want to solo so I tend to try to build toons that are suited for both. Finally imagine that Inf and Merits are no object to me. At the time of writing that is not the case for most of my toons, but I reckon I can get involved in enough stuff over a time period to earn what’s needed for a potentially expensive build.

    Anyway, onto the current builds!

Honoo Kurai (Dark Flame) Eleven – Martial Arts/Dark Armour Stalker

The tragic vision of what will become should Eleven continue being a miserable soul while ironically becoming a true master of his Martial Arts.

This toon was very recently respec’t after some much needed advice from fellow members of the GGOOC channel. Much thanks again for all how helped.

The new build is miles better now than what it was before and take better advantage of the buffs Stalkers got. Admittedly though if it wasn’t for the fact that I really wanted Dark Armour for RP concept I probably would have sensibly gone for ether Ninjitsu or just carbon copied Hero Eleven and gone Super Reflexes but there we go. No way I want to re-roll this toon now!

So general build should be fine, unless I mucked up what was suggested to me on GGOOC. More a case then of IO set advice here.

  9. Longfang Richardson – Crab Spider

He might not n00b pWns anywhere near as well as my Warshade but he still does seriously well taking on large groups worthy enough to be nick named “The Human Suppression Machine”!

With the pets he can solo pretty well on Vicious but is absolutely gold on large teams.

Unlike my Night Widow I managed to get a travel power in so moving around is not as bad. The only power I am probably missing is Hasten but I could not seem to get the power in anywhere. I don’t have much of an issue with power recharge but it would be better if I had it.

So when looking for advice on IO set build, while a little extra Damage Resistance and Defence would be nice, I would much rather try and get a bit of attack rate buffs. I know perma spider pets is popular. Not sure if my build can get that done though.

    Senshu Hitoku – Night Widow

When the news came out that VEAT’s were coming, I immediately knew that I would be making a Night Widow to be the ideal Arch Villain for Eleven. It has not disappointed me.

Very excellent toon to play as but has had quite a few respec’s already. It is probably worse than my Warshade trying to cram in powers and slots and even now I still question the build.

I can’t fit a travel power in at all. There is too much of other things I want in. He seems to run fast enough to get round anyway and is backed up with Raptor and Jump packs though.

My main issue is with Lunge rather than the supposedly more powerful Eviscerate. I had put Eviscerate in but took it out for Lunge as the animation time meant that I would normally become un-hidden before it actually hit meaning it would not hit Critical whereas Lunge did guaranteed. If that has been fixed I am more inclined to put Eviscerate back in Lunge’s place, especially if it sill does more damage than what Lunge can do.

Defence is already good enough once Mind Link is running that I do not need Elude so not missing that power.

However like Scrapper Eleven, the End cost is murdering the toon. Seems to be a common issue with Night Widows so I have been told so what ever it is people are doing to combat that, I would like to be made aware what needs doing.

    Here is the current build.

  11. Template – Thugs/Poison Mastermind.

Unlike Eric Bridgelnd, Template was fun going through the levels soling and in teams, hit a bump at Level 40 but reworkd some Thug controls and changed some tactics and I was away again ripping the hell out of everything in sight.

Much fun and again another build where I spent some time planning and has not needed any reworking at all as a result. Suggestions still welcome on the build in general otherwise it’s a case of unsure on IO sets again.

    Eric Bridgeland – Merc/Traps Mastermind

It started off so well. I was able to get through and was enjoying soloing through the levels with only a few hiccups with EB’s. Teaming was great and was able to provide valuable support to other members. Then I hit Level 40 and he’s been stuck there ever since. I can’t solo with him at all despite change in tactics and different trail and error and no teams seem to want him around. Probably because they are right when people say Mercs are the weakest MM henchmen by a clear margin. Ok so the Traps are useful but it does not seem to be enough for teams.

Fairly straight forward. Check out the build and as well as IO set advice, see where I am going wrong that is making him unworkable solo and unwanted in teams.

    Adam Dennison – Warshade

The n00ber of pWnz! Even before the recent buffs, this guy was creating piles of defeated enemies and getting cries from the rest of the team saying “Oi! Save some for us will you!”

Of course he is better suited for large team play. I can only solo him on the second level of difficulty. Might be that with the recent buffs and a bit of tweaking I could take on Rugged but not given the Warshade much of a run around since coming back to the game regular.

Must be said though that I have never had to do a respect for the toon. Much research and planning was put in all that time ago when he was first made as I fortunately understood before making him that building Kheldians were complex and needed patience. As a result he turned out wonderfully vicious at the higher levels.

However the build is still worth reviewing anyway. Since I can’t get my head around IO sets on normal toons, I have no chance on a complex Warshade build! I am almost certain that I will be told that the Presence Pool powers can be dropped. I picked them purely because of concept as I had done for Scrapper Eleven and the Evil Stalker version of Eleven. Both of them have had the powers dropped. In the case of Eleven it was simply because of lack of space for everything else the build needed. For the Stalker Eleven, I was convinced that they powers were useless and I should replace with better ones from my secondary power pool.

I don’t think I have used the powers much outside of soloing anyway as I have obliterated enemies with my main powers usually. So if you are going to suggest they be dropped for something else, I will happy agree, unless they are really helpful for a Warshade.

    Here is the current build.

  14. The Prince Bishop – Will Power/Super Strength Tanker

Holy *expletive*! This guy is a beast!

This is my latest toon and probably the best pre planning I have done so far because this guys rips through everything and is very, very rarely ever put down. The only thing missing since it’s a Superman wannabe….Laser Beam Eyes but I simply could not fit anything in from the Epic Pool.

I doubt there is anything can be said about the general build because he works so well already. I only need help with an IO set build because not sure really what to aim for.

  15. Do Lo Might – Stone/Stone Tanker

Do Lo is my true by definition Tanker. Out of the 3 Tankers, if a team is wanting the argo holding, be a nuisance Tanker while the rest of the team pick the enemy off from me, then Do Lo is the one I will bring.

He has already had a few respecs already ether because of mistakes I have made in the build or I felt necessary as he was not feeling effective at his main role.

Now when you look at the current build I know you will probably gawp at the omission of Mud Pots. Now it was in the original build but I ended up respec’ing it out at one point because it was killing my End and causing me to be a lousy Tank for teams.

At Level 50 I can probably safely accept it back into his power list so would appreciate advice on where to put it in the order of powers and slotting it. Like my Blasters it feels really crammed at the moment trying to get powers in I feel are useful so help on power choices would be great.

When it comes to IO sets, like any Stone Tanker, the two things I am aiming for is of course Power Recharge buffs and Damage buffs to try and combat as much of the effects of Granite Armour as possible. Yes End Recharge would be nice too again saving the need for Conserve Power but since most of the time I am expected to be a Granite Monster, trying to get back some of the debuffing being in the mode is priority so that I don’t always feel the need to pester the team to recruit a Kin!

Ranpu Tenrai Eleven (AKA “Super” Eleven) – Invulnerability/Energy Melee Tanker

Meant to be the absolute highest tier character of all my toons. The idea of Super Eleven is that he only every comes out in RP on very special occasions when something really drastic is going down. So far that has not happened but that does not mean to say I should not keep playing as him non-RP so that I can get him to match the level of expectation that could well be expected of him.

This toon has also already been reviewed and respect’d recently in where I ended up having every Primary Power put into the build and suitably slotted. Was originally more of a Scranker but he was not very good at it and is now defiantly much better as an out and out taunting Tanker. Again looking mostly at advice for a solid IO set build, although a little bit extra damage in the attacks would be helpful.

  17. Steel House – Claws/Invulnerability Scrapper

Steel House represents one occasion showing that I must be learning something after already re-viewing the original build when I hit level 40 and coming up with a new plan which made the toon much more efficient and survivable in fights.

In this case I am really just looking for advice on a solid IO set build, upgrading from using generic IO’s. Of course if there is still something glaringly wrong I am doing, then please point that out. I can almost expect someone to say to me that I should drop Tough and Weave for more of the passive powers in Invul, using certain IO’s and ending up with equal if not better Damage Resistance and Defence and therefore saving End use with two less clicky powers. Although I have no idea if that is the case, otherwise I would not be here asking for help.

I have already been told by many people that Conserve Power is a waste. Now I might be inclined to believe them as I am sure there are some IO combinations which can give solid enough End Recharge making CP not needed. If that is the case, I’m happy to drop it.

    Here is the current build.

    Eleven – Martial Arts/Super Reflexes

The name sake. The main toon. The one character out of all my toons that am the most passionate about. So much so that this toon is the one toon doing my head in on what to do to make him as effective as he can possibly be. In my RP mythology he is only meant to be Mid Tier compared to the rest of my toons but irony being that because I consider him my main signature toon, I feel the need to make him as awesome as I can. He is the one when trouble erupts to want to dive in fist and feet first.

I have already had a rebuild of the toon after and RP PvP moment had someone much lower than me able to beat me down easily and have a full IO build I am following. I have seen other SR builds recently though which have got Defence high enough that Elude is no longer needed so I want to re-review the current plan and see where further tweaks could be made.

However I have been doing my brain in last few days with a dilemma. After spending time playing with my latest Tanker which has Will Power shielding and seeing how crazy the regen is for him, I am seriously considering the possibility that Will Power is better for Eleven and am prepared to start from scratch at Level 1.

I had originally picked SR well before WP even came out and one of the main reasons was that SR was the only secondary that did not give my toon any over bearing auras covering his costume. It also seemed to make more sense concept wise too. Its great that he is so hard to hit and be taken down.

The End cost though is killing him! I don’t know if its because he is not fully IO’d yet or because I am stupidly running stuff that does not need running in a particular moment but it can be frustrating against more powerful foes having to pop loads of blues and when I run out, stand and not attack until my End recharges (If Elude was not available to me) running the risk that I will finally get hit and go down.

I know Will Power’s caps are much lower than that of Tankers but I have seen some WP Scrapper builds with good defence and damage resistance and some ridiculous regen.

Still though, I am having a hard time coming up with a list of pros and cons of keeping my current SR toon or making him again as WP. There is still a part of me that does not want to start again from Level 1. I have my main at 50 already but still not sure which way to go. It has been suggested to me that I could make another Eleven and have him WP and keep the SR one.

Problem I have with that is lack of character slots right now and would prefer not to spend money unnecessarily ether shifting toons to empty servers or getting more slots. Second of all, I know that I have another 3 versions of Eleven but they are all different AT’s for unique situations in RP. Another Scrapper I believe would end up with one of two just not getting used and therefore not worth keeping. Although if they ever brought out a Broad Sword or Katana with a fire aura on them I might change my mind!

So here is the current build but aside from any advice on tweaking this I am also looking for pros and cons advice on keeping SR and sorting out the End Use issue or re-rolling Eleven with WP.

  19. Iron Works – Energy/Energy Blaster

Yep, guess what this toon is a homage (Rip-off) of then!?!

Out of all my Blasters though, Iron Works is the one I have had the most fun with. I could solo with him on Rugged on a number of occasions and teams willing to work with all that knock back loved him.

Like Leon Tasker though, I look at the build and wonder if I have under-slotted powers because of trying to cram in so much. Although unlike Leon it does not feel like that when in a fight. Generally things seem to go down quickly. Again, I might be missing the boat completely and by all means correct me.

Like the Blasting Eleven, it would be cool for his Damage Resistance and Defence to be as decent as can possibly get it. I did get Body Armour but it’s clear that on its own it’s not enough. I would not have a problem if it was suggested that Sleep Grenade and LRM Rocket were to be sacrificed. In once sense I can see a use for them, but then it does not look right for the toon to be pulling out an Assault Rifle since everything else he’s been firing has been coming from his “Fusion Cannon for Arms”

Surveillance has to be kept though! My word do I love that power on this toon!

  20. Leon Tasker – Assault Rifle/Devices Blaster.

Even though he is a major player in the mythology of all my toons, Leon still seems to be stuck at level 40 right now, despite being built to act mostly as a team orientated support Blaster and happy to help out anyone needing some extra help.

Shame because even though AR/Devices is seen sometimes as the weakest Blaster combination, I still have fun playing as him and have on a number of occasions saved team members bacon in battle.

Looking at the build I can’t but think though that I may have under-slotted some powers as a result of trying to cram in as many powers as I feel I need. End use is also an issue but not surprising given the amount of clicky powers going. Still, having Cloaking device and Hover active after firing Smoke Grenade an even con-ing mob is making me much harder to hit now than in the early levels.

Guess I am looking for help on maybe tidying up the build if he can be a little bit more efficient. Improving End Recovery would be great, so that he can keeping firing for a long time even with clicky powers on but I am not fussed on Leon being fully IO’d out. He is meant to be only a soldier that uses kit to get the job done and it won’t look right if he is super powered in a big way.

    Here is the current build.

    Kusanagi Eleven – Fire/Fire Blaster.

Ahhh, the original Eleven toon. My first character I made in this game nearly 3 years ago when I was originally on Defiant and my first level 50 that needed a Double XP weekend to get there after feeling stuck in the low 40’s. He may have been replaced by the now more frequently used remade Scrapper version on Union but took the chance to transfer him over the servers as sentiment stopped me from allowing him to rot or even be deleted. Besides, I still feel that there are times when Eleven is needed to use his fire ball throwing skills more than his fighting.

With him being my first toon he has already been respec’d so many times due to my continuing to learn how to play this game and what was expected of me in teams. To the point where even now I am still not sure what he should and should not have.

So much so that I have in the end up going against what I promised myself and not let him rot unused.

Hell loading up the build on Mids’ I still have SO’s slotted, not generic IO’s!

So I want to let the fire wielding version of Eleven feel the sunshine again. Looking back at my power choices I don’t feel that I have any issues with what I have chosen unless someone tells me otherwise. Slots the same, open to suggestions if I should change them about. Pool powers I am so-so with. Not sure if I picked well. Char is defiantly useful but not sure about the rest. I probably could do what I have done with Scrapper Eleven and drop Super Jump and just have Combat Jumping and Hurdle work with Super Speed.

Would like to make him as Damage Resistant and Defensive as possible. I know there is only so much you can do with a Blaster but would be nice to somewhat more survivable since it’s meant to be the same person as the Scrapper version.

With that said I guess it also make sense concept wise to make him a little bit Blapper-ish but not sure if it can be done effectively with Fire/Fire.

    Here’s the current build.

    Please reply!

This goes back to what I said in the No Blinds Thread/Rant.

I can understand people's frustration if you set yourself up rules for other player to follow in order to contact you but then don't return an equal level of manners.

I am one that says No Blinds but I always make the effort to reply to a tell. If I am flagged that I am LFT then my response is usually a quick "Sure, sign me up". If I am flagged not LFT but people send a tell, that's not a problem for me as at least they still sent a tell allowing me to think about what I am doing at the time. Could be that I am not LFT as I am busy with something else but sometimes I might decide that actually I have nothing else going on so reply back say yes I will join.

Of course there are times when I can't reply right away ether because I am mid battle or I had to go AFK for a moment. I do try when going AFK to set that up so that auto reply takes place. I would still eventually respond offering my apologies for the late reply and say why that was. I have always had a nice response from people who understood why there was a late reply.

So to the OP I can sympathise with you on this frustration. As I have said before. Yes enforce a No Blinds rule if you feel you need it as I certainly do but make sure you have the courtesy of replying back.

Although I would guess that not everyone needs telling this as most already do. Just seems really bad luck you got that many non responses in a row one time.
  24. [ QUOTE ]
I noticed something last night when I was fighting CoT with my Thug/PD MM. The thugs cheat.
First off the cold demons that can resurrect them self, well when they do so it takes a few seconds before I can target them, however when my thugs are set to aggressive they start shooting the demon as soon as it start to rice, and it was half death again before I could target it.
Then there was the ghost, that fly away and become invisible. When they do so I loose them as a target, and can not retarget them until they reappear, but my thugs not only keep shooting at them and damage them, but can follow them even after they have become completely invisible.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Can't explain the first instance. I have seen that too with any of my MM pets and my Crab Spider pets with Zombies and Rikti spawns in zone events too. A lot of minions go down before they are meant to be attackable. Not that I complain about that mind you!

As for the second instance you mention, keep in mind that fully equipped thugs have the enforcers running leadership powers which allow the thugs a chance to see stealthy foes and therefore continue to attack targets trying to placate.
  25. Little bit late posting this but suddenly found no time to make a post until now.

Last week I was off work for the half term and had set up a number of high level toons I had to be worked on over the week to get them all to Level 50.

It felt like a bit of a slog at times but I managed to do it!

So this is a chance for me to thank all those I teamed with whatever we were doing red side last week that got the following toons hitting Level 50.

    Senshu Hitoku – Night Widow
    Longfang Richardson – Crab Spider
    Template – Thugs/Poison MM
Honoo Kurai Eleven – MA/DA Stalker

I’ve posted a similar message to this for blue side in the Level 50 list post but obviously given the amount of toons listed the bulk of my time was spent red side and so much was done its hard for me to give mention to anything specific.

There was the ITF with Longfang Richardson which was probably the best ITF run I have been involved with. Done with almost an extreme level of professionalism we ripped though everything without too much downtime for anyone even though we were playing on a high difficulty. Also the dreaded Valley of Lag wasn’t too bad that round ether compared to other runs I have had so that was also good.

Speaking of the ITF though I must again apologise to the team I was with plating as Template as I was interrupted by the early arrival of the guy who had come to fix our boiler. He was due to arrive an hour later which would have meant the TF would have been well finished but for once a techie arrives an hour early. The team would have had complete justification for kicking me on that last level given the amount of AFK time I had to put in with the visit but actually they let my toon follow on with buffs running anyway so I appreciate that.

HK Eleven went on two LGTF runs which were both cool. On the second run I hit 50 on the Hami level and went down as a martyr on the final mission taking down the portal towers, which was funny.

So thanks again all for the cracking week.
