No shock, called on the account of poor turnout.

Enchantress will be running one on Friday June 12th at 9pm Eastern. Hopefully she'll have more luck with attendance than I do!

    [/ QUOTE ]
    I'll be there!
  2. I should be able to, no sweat. I haven't figured out what character I'll bring, but I'll be there
  3. Mine is Broadsword/Regen as well, but I do like the idea of Dark Melee/Regen/Dark Mastery.

By the same token, i'd say a lot of the "casuals" in this game are pretty much OCD about playing the game "as intended" to the point of deriding or outright badmouthing any other playstyle.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    This.

As for the OP: Of course some of the badgers have OCD to varying degrees, just as some non-badgers do. However, a desire to collect badges, even ALL of them, doesn't mean that the player in question actually has OCD. A person can become very focused and goal-oriented without having the actual disorder. That isn't what having OCD is about.
  5. NOW I find out about the influence of opening the ID screen *facepalm*. I will now paraphrase Lewis Black to underscore my irritation with this bug:

"How dumb are we to be the most technologically advanced MMO in the history of mankind to live without line breaks in our character descriptions? We have men, we have rockets, we have saran wrap... FIX IT!! And don't come back until you do."
  6. As Vamp Angel, a level 44 scrapper, I got into the action once again over on RWZ 2, and scored over 400 merits. Enough to get most of the Vanguard costume items I wanted.

Towards the end of the raid, I made another trip to the hospital following an overrun by newly-arrived Rikti headmen and Bosses/EBs, and loaded up on nearly a full tray of purples. Upon returning I jumped back into the fight and was soon the lone remaining fighter in my portion of the bowl. I got dogpiled by a group of 6 Rikti Magus', and 5 Headmen, and survived far longer than I should have by using my purples and MoG. My team-leader saw it and was pretty impressed.

I'll be sure to toss up a few screencaps later

    Friday TFs

Be there in just a few minutes as Vamp Angel.

    Friday TFs

Excellent. The character I'm using is lvl 41. I'll see if I can gain another level or two beforehand.

    Thanks

    Friday TFs

I will keep my eyes on this topic then
  11. The character I'll be using is now level 41
  12. Good idea.

My best times are Fridays, anytime after 2-pm EST, although we already have groups who regularly do friday TFs, and they did an ITF a few weeks back.

Saturdays are also doable pretty much any time of day.

So, anyone up for an ITF on Friday the 29th or Saturday evening on the 30th, after 7pm EST?
  13. El_Corvo

    Friday TFs

I missed out on the ITF unfortunately, although the character I wanted to run with it wasn't high enough at the time anyway *lol* I'm still looking to do one.
  14. With the AE soaking up players like a sponge, the boards seem to be the best way to organize TFs.

As such, I'd love to participate in an ITF with one of my characters. Anyone else game? If so, when is the best day and time?
  15. Some of those badge-titles were awesome. This is a shame.

The fact is that farming will never stop, because there are too-many "official" missions and badges that encourage it. You'd think after so many years of seeing farming patters, the Devs would have been able to anticipate this.

I'd like to hope that as a result, we'd see more players willing to gather for GM kills, and certain TFs which are are almost impossible to assemble these days, but I have my doubts.
  16. The raid went pretty well, at least from where I was standing, although we didn't defeat the GM this time around. However I got the exploration badge and enough Vanguard Creds for my broadsword.

I should be there on the 31st. Had a blast!
  17. Aaaand the Zone is full.

    Damn.

EDIT: Raids picked up in RWZ 2. Thanks to everyone who formed teams
  18. I'll be there as Vamp Angel I can taste that Talsorian Broadsword now.

well, not literally. That would be weird

As for reducing the recharge of rest that you mention..... I find no problem with that suggestion. If that would help people, then I'd happily go along with it. Personally, I don't think Rest should even have a recharge at all. I think the long delay for it to kick in is "punishment" enough for using it.

    [/ QUOTE ]
    ^This. I concur.
  20. [ QUOTE ]

I don't disagree with any of this, and I'm a bit mystified that there seem to be so many people who do. Different strokes for different folks and all that, I guess. I just wish that the "everything is fine" crowd would be less hostile to making (relatively minor) changes that would make the early game more palatable for the "everything is not fine" crowd.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I think part of the reason for this can boil down to a couple of things. There are those players who would feel slighted by changed that would make lowbies easier to play from an endurance standpoint. Its the whole "I ran the gauntlet, so you need to do that too" mindset.

Then you have those who sincerely, for whatever reason, feel as if things are absolutely fine the way they are. They don't mind the grind, and see no reason to change it.

I don't support either mindset. This game needs players. The game needs to be fun to keep them, and even with the XP and other changes to make leveling a bit easier, the game can still bog down and get really repetitive.
  21. I don't mind the animation for Kick, although I'd like it to respond a touch faster. Like you I too love sending foes flying with it

Jump Kick's animation, however, is an abomination. I really wish they'd change it to something that looked a little less like it was being executed by a brain-damaged, daredevil lemur after having drank down an entire case of Mountain Dew and Surge.
  22. In reply to the OP's original suggestions.

    1) Reducing the recharge of rest would be great. I wouldn't reduce it any more than 30-50%, because its pretty close to being available almost every time its truly needed.

    2) Reducing or eliminating the end cost for brawl and the origin attack would be superb.

I'm not so sure about the other suggestions, although I don't think they'd be particularly game-breaking either.
  23. I couldn't get the patch downloaded over the weekend, even though I tried twice. It FINALLY downloaded last night, and now I find out about this. *LOL* Awesome!
  24. Wow. Feelings of entitlement abound here. All these sounds of unfairness and discrimination revolve around one, simple premise, no matter what euphemisms you use to disguise it:

"You mean I may not get what I want?"

Yup. You may not. Life is funny that way.

Sure, the world of Paragon is a reality construct where there seems to be more fairness, but the in-game situation is not going to bleed into the real-life one. I can understand why you'd be upset if you can't engage in your preferred means of CoH escapism, but these complaints and demands are simply silly.

Servers have finite resources, and this has always been true. The analogy of a recently remodeled restaurant is a good one. You can make improvements and plan on improved service, but that doesn't mean that everything you plan for will come to pass. There are always variables that you miss or cannot plan for.

Are you entitled to many things? Sure. But being guaranteed the ability to play on the server of your choice during an optional event? No. Heck, you aren't guaranteed that at any point.

The sooner some of you lose the overdeveloped sense of entitlement, the better off you and everyone else around you will be.
