I've been directly told twice by moderators that my opinion was heard but not valued, and the response to the "Soloability of End Game" thread amounted to more or less the same thing. I'm not feeling very charitable any more.
-
Quote:Dude, they locked that thread, saying that "crafting Incarnate stuff at ridiculous prices that can only be met if you play on a team" counts as a solo option. The Mods gave those of you with this position your own thread to get your feedback and still you piss on every other thread with the same lament. They heard you. What do you want now?
So no, they did not "hear" us.
And what do I want? For them to hear me, address me, show any indication whatsoever that they give a flying rat's *** about my opinion, or otherwise, GIVE ME MY GORRAM MONEY BACK.
There are people on a football team whose express purpose is to avoid touching the ball as much as possible. They're also supposed to keep the other guys from touching the ball, too. If these guys are touching the ball, your play has gone horribly, horribly wrong. -
Quote:No, sweetie, I'm not. i15 put Nazis on the streets for me to run up to and punch. i20 is not putting Loyalists on the streets for me to run up to and punch.Well, you're getting the same in I20 - they just call themselves loyalists instead of 5th Column
Also, Loyalists aren't Nazis. Punching electronic representations of real-life evil people is far more enjoyable and satisfying than punching electronic representations of made-up cardboard evil people. -

I have three that have alpha slot abilities. As of this moment, I have none that I am "actively" doing Incarnate stuff with. I have been firmly convinced that the Incarnate system is not designed for me, and I will likely be leaving the game soon (I can't just ignore it when a game that doesn't let me "finish" it, and will walk away from it instead.)
-
So far, this is the first issue I haven't seen anything to look forward to in since I started seriously playing. I'm really hoping for news about something else - because you (the dev team) have done a really good job of convincing me that the Incarnate system is not something I'm supposed to be taking part in.
And yes, one issue that has nothing for me is enough to make me stop being a subscriber. Note that "getting to punch Nazis" was all i15 gave to me, and it was enough. -

Which makes it different from set bonuses, because set bonuses that increase healing don't increase powers that increase health (but they will increase the healing provided by powers that do both, such as Dull Pain.)

I find all these i20 previews boring. I've been well and truly convinced that the Incarnate system - and everything associated with it - isn't for me, so now I'm just sort of sitting here thinking "Yeah, well, what've you got for me?"
I'm sure there's more to i20 than Incarnate Trials; I just wish they would say something about that part.
At least i15 let me punch Nazis. -

While I'm not Aura, I think the train of thought was basically "If a +3 AV doesn't slow people down, it's not really that much of a challenge."
-
I have red villains (well, one - a demon summoning demon.)
I have black villains.
Gold seems to be a recurring motif in many of my villains.
I do not combine black and red in any of my villains (I've got several black and gold villains, and most of my characters in my VG heavily feature purple.) -

So, Zwill, were you hired to be a kinder, friendlier CM? You seem to be personally taking on the task of "keeping in touch with players."
Also, does this mean some of the sillier rules (like "no talking about other games ever") aren't going to be enforced as much? -

Quote:To be fair, Arcana has directly attacked me in the past (in ways that have been removed due to moderation), and I've likely responded in kind, so we probably don't immediately approach each others posts on the most positive of notes in the first place. That was pretty close to outright accusing her of attacking you, which is not what a friendly, peaceful person does without cause to people with whom they're conversing.
Also, I'm not sure "said" is a word any more. I think she broke it. -
Quote:Clearly, I'm not so literal with my word choice as you. I don't set out to attack you.If *I* say "the only way" its because I'm prepared to prove it upon request.
I was simply pointing out that I was not, despite your assertion otherwise, eliminating the player mindset you described. Can we leave it at that? -
I simply said that what you said I said was not what I said. Which is something you do all the time (not say I said things, but correct people's impression of what you said.)
-
Quote:Only if you deliberately misread what I wrote, because that mindset was exactly what I was describing. To say that casual players don't plan to make Incarnate progress is to say all players you want to define as casual players don't actually think to themselves "I want to log in my level 50 blaster and see if I can get on a sister psyche task force today." This is what you're disqualifying from being a casual player.
-
Quote:Well, yeah, but they don't exactly plan to pop in and make Incarnate progress (making Incarnate progress is just one of the things they're going to be doing when they hop in.) A casual player might hear about the WSTs, and "plan" to get in to play the WST, but they won't put much more effort into it than "LF WST Team".That's close, but I'm not sure I'd entirely agree with that. Casuals can and do respond to carrots dangled in front of them; the whole Alpha slot progression certainly requires, if not planning, then the pursuit of a goal at least, and that's definitely not a hardcore-only part of the game.
