  1. Darn blueside, ruining everything! Though I'm not sure why a pro-Cole Praetorian would want to go blue. Not enough beating up of Cole's enemies over there!

What's the point? The Resistance's goals are the same as the Primal Heroes/Villains (Wardens and Crusaders map very closely to Hero/Villain as already defined). It'd really be no different from joining an existing group.

While it seems talk of redside dying might actually be somewhat true, I do have a Praetorian Villain Group named Powers Division, for those Loyalists that decided to go redside.
  3. My advice: Leave a note on the door. Have it read something like "Hey, I'm your neighbour and I thought I heard you playing City of Heroes the other night. I play too! I'd love to meet you. If you're up to it, contact me in game at @Equation and we can talk.

    Hope to hear from you!
    -Arby Fab!"

I'd certainly respond to that note, anyway.

But a note is pretty low-key; they can just throw it out if they're not interested, or take the initiative you set up for them if they are. And if you're not up to being shut down in the face, it's a great way to go. No pressure on them, or you.

  5. Name: Powers Division

    Currently Recruiting: Recruiting!

RP Level: Medium RP preferred, but not required. SG concept would require at least a little character concept parity.

PvP Level: I don't do a lot of PvP, but others are welcome to. Potential rivalry for RPPvP exists.

Theme/Concept: Powers Division is just what it sounds like; the Primal Earth version of Praetoria's Powers Division. The idea is for the "Heroes" of Praetoria (mostly Power arc, but also Responsibility; Loyalists) to come to Primal Earth and prepare it for Cole's coming invasion. We seek publicity, popularity, peace and prosperity, just like members of Powers Division back home.

The Rogue Isles are a mess, and we're going to tidy up before Emperor Cole arrives to put everything in order. If we get a bit of fame and fortune in the process, all the better!

Activity: Less than I would like, though I haven't been able to catch most of the people that have expressed interest yet (many are still in Praetoria). I'm on almost every day, though my times are a bit sporadic.

Requirements for Membership: Be willing to play in a group dedicated to the conquest of Primal Earth by Praetoria.

    Leadership: Muchitsujo Eiko (@Eiko-chan).

    In-Game Contact(s): @Eiko-chan

Out-of-Game Contact(s): Drop a GleeMail, Global Tell, PM, or a note in this thread!
  6. I'll be recruiting in Sharkhead again tonight. Hope to catch some of you!

Let me add my weight to this. The un-alphabetical listing of several things is really annoying. I understand it in the context of the few textures that fit specific costume pieces (Stealth pattern for Stealth pieces, for instance), but other options are often seemingly placed at random. The most egregious place this happens is the "costume set" menu with all the "preset" configurations in it.
  9. I still frequently use the legacy belts because you can select the colour on the legacy "leather" belt, while the newer version is stuck as only black. Keeping in mind that this is a giant failing of design and a promise to not do stuff like this in the future (our colour options are an absolute must have, and any piece with flat, static colours needs to be revised (PPD pieces, I'm looking at you!)), I'll vote Option 1.

If you cannot stop from making flat, unchangeable colours on these textures, then you have to go with Option 2.
  10. Well, I caught less people than I might have hoped, but I did stir up some RP for a while, so it wasn't a total loss!

I'll probably try again later this week. The conversations that got going were interesting.
  11. I have a devil of a time getting away from playing Traps. If Traps is available to an AT, I'll probably play it. I keep trying to think of reasons to play sets that aren't Traps, but it generally comes round back to "Traps is awesome, and these other sets aren't".
  12. I seem to be having problems catching some of you folks. I plan on being around tonight, doing some recruiting in Sharkhead. If you're interested, I'll probably be starting around 6 PM PST (9 PM EST).
  13. I keep wanting to play a Dominator, trying to play a Dominator, but for some reason, my Dominators all stall in the low-teens.

Scrappers, Controllers, and Blasters also all seem to not work very well for me; they generally stall and fail in the mid-20s slump period (never gotten a Controller to 32, which is supposedly where they get awesome.)

And Kheldians. I don't get how people like playing those.

Also, we should set up an SG throw down fight between our two groups in a PvP zone or arena sometime!
So long as he at least nominally supports the invasion on paper, he's welcome.

As for PvP: I'm fond of the idea of RP PvP rivalries and smack downs in theory, but every time I've actually tried them, they've ended poorly. So with that caveat in place, I'm willing to give it another roll.

Most that would run the Power arc would probably fit. Especially after the last Morality Mission. Emperor Cole at his finest there.

Cap (as someone already pointed out is where the Crucible is) is much more logical a choice than Mercy because Cap is sort-of the closest equivalent that redside has to what Atlas is blueside. Atlas is sort of the "central hub" of blueside, where all the folks hang out and do their business. In the AE craze, Cap AE was what Atlas AE was.

So, as a redsider, Cap makes perfect sense for the location of The Crucible.

  18. I see a thread down below for Emperor Justin's Heroic Praetorian Embassy SG, but so far not the idea I really want to play out: a pro-Tyrant Villainous Praetorian Group.

So I decided to start one myself.

Introducing Powers Division. We may have left Praetoria, but we still serve. Primal Earth is a chaotic and messy place, not at all like the great and beautiful Utopia we all left behind. But our Great Emperor Cole (he asked me to call him Marcus! ) has seen fit to bring his Utopia to these poor, misguided people. And when he marches through that Portal, the Primal Powers Division will be here to support and serve once more. When the new Primal Utopia comes, we'll be heralded as the heroes that helped bring it to life.

And if we manage to get a little power and glory for ourselves in the meantime, so much the better.

The group will be open to anyone that wishes to see a better world built on the Praetorian principles of peace, unity, and happiness. And, of course, that world needs stewards and shepherds to guard and guide it. Which is why we have the Powers Division.

Please contact @Eiko-chan (or reply here!) if you're interested in helping getting this group started!

I would love to have two options in Scirocco's arc (above what's already there). First - deliver the Malleus Mundi to Arbiter Daos directly. Just, after you have it, walk up to Daos and have the option to say "Here's the Malleus Mundi. Scirocco's got plans to betray Recluse. I want no part of his stupid scheme." The arc could then play out with Scirocco trying to get revenge.

Second option - carry through as written, defy Arbiter Daos when he tells you to turn on Scirocco. Great for the "Etoile Isles Patriot" sorts. How the story works out? The Malleus Mundi is fake, or incomplete, or simply doesn't have the power to do what Scirocco thinks it does. Scirocco's plot still fails, and you and he have to live together with the fallout (you get the same excuse Scirroco does; both had the audacity to try something, so you get a slap on the wrist, not a putting down.)

You're missing one quite vital point here. Demolitionists are part of the Scrapyarders faction. You run into Scrapyarders for the first time in Sharkhead. Sharkhead is a level 20-30 zone.

Destroyer Blast Masters run from 1-15.

Saying something in Praetoria is "just like" something you encounter at much higher levels is poor memory at best, outright deceit at worst. Things that aren't a problem when you're running on SO enhancements can be colossal obstacles when you only have TO and DO enhancements to count on.
  22. I just want to throw out there that I do solo x8 content, I do solo AVs, I do build characters that are nigh-invulnverable and unstoppable machines of doom.

But they don't get there at level 20. The earliest I've gotten to the point I can take an AV is level 42. Challenges for my level 40+ characters simply do not belong in the 20- game, because the tools we have at 40+ are much more varied, much more powerful, and much more available than the tools we have at 20-.

I excel at builds, not at playstyle. I've been playing some Regen toons lately to try to redevelop my twitch skills, but I'm well on middle age here and there's only so much twitch left to me. I have to build awesome, because my body simply isn't capable of playing awesome any more. This game allows me to build unstoppable characters, but it doesn't allow me to build unstoppable characters at level 20, let alone level 10.

I know what I'm doing, and I still see Praetoria as unfairly designed, especially when there are no difficulty contacts with which to tone things down. Praetoria's enemies aren't a matter of "learn to play better", they're a matter of "designed unfairly with advantages players cannot counter at these levels." The mobs as designed would work quite well as challenging 40+ enemies; at level 10, they are grossly unfair.

What works at 40 does not work at 20. The two games are very different.

GHOULS ARE NOT THE OLYMPIAN PROJECT. I've pointed this out in other threads and GG insists on continued claim that this is the case. The man responsible for Ghouls did it to himself.

The Failed Experiments may very well be failed Olympians, but the Ghouls are not.
