  1. The Mutant Booster had 19 costume pieces and 5 emotes.

The Origins Pack has 15 costume pieces - including 10 auras, which (barring some really weird SCR about the game engine) are almost certainly more work to develop than a single costume piece, being a mesh and animation, rather than just a mesh.
  2. First off, I'm not aware that NATO is in the business of selling its services. I see no indication that this is different in the CoX universe.

Secondly, the use of the phrase "provided by" rather than "supplied by" or "purchased from" implies a more pro bono arrangement. Longbow is part of Freedom Corps, and thus does not have a corporate bankroll to operate off of (and the Coles are not the Waynes of CoX).

  4. Longbow might not be part of NATO, but they are canonically supported by NATO (third paragraph).

And as the Rogue Isles aren't a part of NATO, there's not much they can do to try and stop Longbow carrying out their mission.
NATO doesn't have authority to invade nations without a UN mandate. The UN still exists in the CoX universe, and it recognises the Etoile Isles as a sovereign nation.

Therefore, NATO troops are invading a sovereign nation in violation of UN mandates. The only reason there's no huge outcry is because it's the US doing the invading (and there's no indication that the balance of power in the world is any different than today, with one exception I'm about to touch on) and because the only nation with the power to do anything about it are the Etoile Isles themselves, due to their large super-powered population (and they do respond, largely with a blanket statement saying "kill Longbow, we don't care" to all those aforementioned supers.)

It really boils down to the fact that our "hard" content is entirely based on the same single mechanic - lots of health (and lots of regen that comes when you have lots of health). Our "endgame" is a giant one-trick pony, and anyone with a debuff set has the tool that counters that one trick.
  7. I wouldn't be surprised, with the Roman theme to so much else about Praetoria, that before he was President, Consul, Emperor or Tyrant, Marcus Cole was "The Praetorian".
  8. When the in-game store is down, so are extra character slots.

I am sad to report that the only portmanteau name I have is my /Thermal Mastermind, Forgeteen (who is fourteen). I really need to get more.

  11. I sort of see your point, Sam, and sort of not. When you make the choice, it's made clear that the reason you call in Cole is to discredit Neuron and make yourself look good. From that standpoint, not being respectful to the Emperor doesn't really make sense; the only person you can discredit Neuron with is Cole, so why immediately piss off Cole while trying to discredit Neuron?

On the other hand, the dialogue could easily have been written less subserviantly. "It seems to me, Emperor (perhaps a sarcastic tone on that, in some other colour or written as *Emperor*,) that I've been spending an awful lot of my time cleaning up Praetor Berry's messes lately. And now he's even openly defying a direct order. You might want to look into that if you don't want the whole city collapsing on your head." In that case, I could totally see Cole's response being "Yes, perhaps I'll take that under advisement. But don't worry about this mess; I'll handle it personally."

Would that have sat better with you?

Minor technicality: don't most GM-soloing MMs have -regen powers (typically from Traps)?

  14. Masterminds are the only ones that do not get a permanent Dark Servant out of the box. MM's version of Dark Servant must be slotted for 100% recharge before it is permanent.

Your perception of the reality of the situation is off. It's probably because your falling speed is about 2x your rising speed, so it SEEMS like you're moving slower on the down beat because you reach the ground faster, but the horizontal movement of the jump is exactly the same throughout a jump; because you fall twice as fast, however, 2/3rds of any jump will be up and only 1/3rd will be down.

EDIT: for a demonstration, find a building that you can easily run off. Run off with Super Jump on (run, don't jump) and note how far you travel before hitting the ground. Now go back up and do it again with Super Jump turned off. Note the difference.
  16. So long as they don't start balancing the game based on booster packs (which they have not), who the <bleep> cares?

Well I think the next Vet Reward should give all 78 month vets free access to all existing and future Booster Packs.
So long as both are implemented, this sounds like a wonderful idea to me.

Don't remind me. Memphis Bill might come along and we'll derail the entitlement whining into vet rewards instead of booster packs.

Now I wish booster packs weren't available to veterans, just for the neener factor.

I don't know why that was, but each minion had 40 hit points where a minion of my level had 160, so they went down really easily, and their attacks were kind of underpowered, too.
Was this the mission to capture Shen? It used to be horribly broken, because they'd throw all those ambushes at you at once. There are, IIRC, 88 of the things in total. If that number's significant to you, the reference should be obvious.

Arachnia: You're confusing me. I'll try again.

If you picked Loyalist in the tutorial (or when you skipped the tutorial), then when you are running (ie, the mission holder) for Resistance arcs - Warden or Crusader - you should be able to call Marchand when prompted and get a conversation other than meet new contact. You must do this before starting the mission, but after accepting it. If it's a mission that starts at the giver, cancel out of the dialogue to make the call.

If you picked Resistance in the tutorial, you can call Scott during Loyalist arcs - Power or Responsibility - when prompted. All the same caveats apply.

You cannot call Marchand during Resistance arcs if you chose Resistance in the tutorial. You cannot call Scott during Loyalist arcs if you chose Loyalist in the tutorial. Well, you can call them, but they'll only offer to introduce you to new contacts.

You can only report to the side you started as in the tutorial. If you chose Loyalist at first, you should be able to call Marchand while doing Resistance arcs*. If you chose Resistance at first, you should be able to call Scott while doing Loyalist arcs*.

You cannot (no matter what other people tell you; unless this gets patched, they're just wrong) report to someone whose side you switched to later. That choice you make in the tutorial is more important than the game tells us.

*Offer does not apply to Power and Crusader arcs in Nova Praetoria.

As one of those posting here that does solo AVs, I want to say for the record that I have absolutely no interest whatsoever in higher challenges than already exist in the game. The game already has several gateways that are difficult enough to make sure they are not always successes; I've been on plenty of failed attempts at the Imperious Task Force*, the Lord Recluse Strike Force, and the Barracuda Strike Force. I don't play blueside much, but the Statesman Task Force is supposed to be about as hard as the LRSF, so I'm sure that gets failed a lot too.

The game's difficulty as exists right now is fine with me, and I'm really not looking for greater challenges to pitch at my characters.

*I sometimes get scoffed at for saying I've run failed ITFs. I play Masterminds, even in team content. Take two Masterminds on the ITF and see if you still scoff. The summoner Nictus at the end seems designed specifically to punish teams for having Masterminds.
