DA has a tailor and access via SG portal. And sometimes an SG base is more accessible than the RWZ is. 6 zones lead to the RWZ, EVERY zone has a portal. Discounting that some players have the SG Base teleport power, Astoria is just as accessible as RWZ.

And yes, I would agree that while those are amenities that Astoria doesn't have, none of them are in any way related to incarnate content, and just clutter a zone that would otherwise be used for leagues and trials. RWZ has nothing above DA as far as expressed trial forming and incarnate progress goes.

    Incarnate Trials

DA is only "lacking" in the sense that there aren't a half dozen other zones leading to it. It's a zone based at Incarnate content and activity, from the trial to the iXP from meandering mobs across the zone. I truly don't see how it is "lacking" in any way other then accessibility. And even then, if you're really too lazy to go through one zone to get to another, you probably shouldn't be rolling that many 50's to re-Incarnate anyway.

Waiting for a trial to form is boring and I alt-tab more often than not. Want to do something meaningful with your time while waiting to grab iXP? Grab iXP. When keeping in mind that the occasional mothership raid happens on average of at least twice a week, the trial crowds need to relocate to a second zone anyway. Why not go someplace where that is guaranteed to never happen? Otherwise, the new DA, which I think is awesometastic anyway, is just going to be forgotten and left behind like any other hazard zone such as Perez or Eden or Crey's Folly. This one has a purpose. Let it have it.

BODY: Assembly of ad-hoc team to slow Pantheon progress was a success. The ability to slow Pantheon down less so. At 2200hrs last night, my team pulled back to Talos when local tremors began collapsing crypts and the cemetery ziggurat. While numerous of the souls being held and sacrificed were freed (estimates into the hundreds), it became far too dangerous to risk the lives of those aiding the Special Projects Division. After the dispersal of the team, I held vigil until the Midnighters could arrive to help ward off the dark influences from invading Talos Island, and the Hazard Doors were sealed.

Despite the loss, the assemblage of those lending aide does prove that Project:Axiom has the full potential to be a success. While the UN may still be wary of that amount of power from that many people from so many differing backgrounds, I remain steadfast in my belief that common goals and benefits can and will help to drive us into forming a larger, more cohesive union across the world under one banner when called upon.

As selected temporary leader of Project:Axiom, after witnessing firsthand the cooperation despite individual methodologies, I am formally requesting that Project:Axiom be moved forward into fully active statuses.

Contact me at your earliest convenience if you would like more details on last night's activities.

Christian James closed his tablet after the pop-up alerted him to the sent status of his message. With a soft sigh he tossed it gently onto his desk and sat back, his hands rubbing his face to help wake him up. He had yet to sleep since last night's foray into Astoria. He couldn't. Astoria had been a second home to him these past few years, the souls there some of his closest friends, and a certain crypt in Moth Cemetery as a place of reflection and peace where he could convene with his fallen Knight brethren. That he had failed to do more to stop it was never far from his mind.

The helm of his armor sat on the meeting table in the middle of the room, staring at him. In the knowledge of what his fellow Knights would see of him, they would tell him to stop blaming himself. He was one man in a City of Heroes, on a world of superpowered beings. Others could have- should have- taken up the banner as well. He tried his best.

That was his reoccurring theme, he decided. Always almost succeeding. Failing to help save more of the Chaser Knights, the Midnight Refuge closing doors, the collapse of the Global Defense Alliance and through it, the Lightning Strike Initiative. He had seen many groups rise and fall in his years defending this world, many before their prime. His hesitance in the face of being asked to lead a United Nations-sponsored unit that could potentially grow larger was blatant. Chris would rather be a soldier. But too few were either willing to lead, or could lead. And so he continued to step up to the plate and swing away.

He closed his eyes, resting his head on the back of his chair. Perhaps Fen and Fairfield were right. Dantian too, when he last spoke to Chris so long ago before the war with Praetoria began. Perhaps it was time to stop being a soldier in the shoes of a leader, and start being a leader. To shoulder the burden and accept the role that a supergroup schismed in on itself so that the members could elect him to lead over a selfish older one.

"If anyone can do it, you can," Dantian's words suddenly washed through his mind's ear.

"And you'll do it. Because that's who you are." Fairfield. An army leader from the red-side of the tracks... who somehow had the faith in Chris to nudge him onwards towards taking this position.

"I'll help however I can, contact me when you need me." Fen McDough... that one. That was the one that made Chris double-take. By Fen's own words, the two of them got along, but were never on the same page. Even when others's drama pushed them to opposite ends of the spectrum, they coexisted, just never together. To hear Fen support him, having little knowledge of the UN SPD project, or reason to call him a leader anymore at all...

    That was something.

Christian's eyes opened. His brow flashed a determined scowl as he sat up in his chair, and looked upon the sword hanging over the rest of his most personal belongings. It was the last heirloom of the Chaser Knights and their leader, Lord Norxethan. Retrieved after the Pantheon slaughtered their camp in Astoria five years ago and given to him by High Knight Aryn Fal. To possess it was to possess generations of honor bestowed by hundreds of Knights now long gone.

Alright. I'm going to make this work, Chris decided, internally having a conversation with the sword, or the man who once held it.

Standing, he grabbed his helm from the table and made his way towards the door. Time to go to work.
  5. I'd like to extend my appreciation and thanks to the legions of people who showed up to last nights Dark Astoria event. With only about a day of preplanning and advertising time, we still had five full teams badge-hunting, defeating Banished Pantheon bosses, scouring for Adamastor, and RPing a last ditch effort to save Astoria from falling to Mot. Of those 5 teams, 4 would stay the entire 3+hours that the event lasted, far exceeding my expectations in both duration and popularity!
  6. Wednesday night in Astoria, 7pmEST, Xeden will be laying out the history of Dark Astoria's past for those unfamiliar with the backstory, and what is at risk should the Sleeper of Pantheon prophecy awaken and what it means for Paragon City and the rest of the world should they succeed.

This will be story-based, accompanying a badge hunt for locations and enemies/bosses, and Adamastor, should we be so lucky.
  7. We've got the cure for what ails ya! We have a channel made all up for ya with a growing population, aimed at Rp events and zone things. We'll help however we can!
  8. I'm in. Week nights would likely be a best bet for sussing out a good crowd, though I know @Monocle Owl runs very excellent attempts. That would be a good place to start.
  9. Quick facts:
    RP Event tonight!
    Vanguard Base briefing area
    Begins- 7:00pm EST

    Lengthier version:

Attention RPers! The Revival Project will be holding an IC meeting/general interest event in the Vanguard Base briefing room at 7:00pm EST this evening to discuss mission statements from the Special Projects committee and begin operations towards Dark Astoria.

All are welcome, RP is encouraged. No commitments necessary!
  10. Additionally, to help people too lazy to search for it, simply type "/chan_join Virtue RP Revival" into your chat prompt to join the channel without seeking me out for an invite.
  11. There was a lengthier conversation behind closed doors you weren't around for, Xanatos. It's over and done with now and we're both content to let it be and pool resources for the greater good.
  12. Anyone looking for a channel invite, please post your Global Names, or get ahold of me online at @Two Across.
  13. And by "nice" you mean "cautiously hostile until a degree of compromise was reached"? =P
  14. @Shadeknight: ganking costumes, RP plots and ideas since 2010.
  15. News broke a few hours ago about the passing of Virtue member and avid RPer @Salsakitten. She passed in her sleep last night and is survived by her husband and fellow CoHplayer @Thorgar. Details are few at current. Condolences go out to her family in this time of loss.

Roughly an hour before this post was made, RPers and members around Virtue gathered upon Talos Hill near the train station to hold a candlelight vigil in her memory.

We filled the zone and had a waiting list of people wanting to get in.

The general shape of the initial gathering formed the shape of a heart, completely on accident.

Among the list of well-wishers, the following SGs send their condolences to her family and loved ones:

    The Eternals
    The New Age Heroes
    The All Star Teen Sentinels
    Teen Phalanx
    Knights of Lankmahr
    Gods of the Golden Age
    Reciprocators
    Alliance Arms
    Technocratic Union
    The Challengers
    The League of Misfits
    The Guardians of Magic

Our hearts go out to her family and friends in their time of loss.

    Best wishes,
    James Cooper

  16. Toss an invite towards @Two Across, if you would be so kind. There are things I would like to discuss with any/all of the mods on your channel as related to RP goings-on.

  18. There was a time with my character, Xeden, that I bounced about with theme songs. A beat or a lyric caught my ear that I found fitting, and I rolled with it.

But late last year, I found the song Unicorn by Hiroyuki Sawano, and it has become the most fitting song I have come across.

When in Incarnate Trials or high-end Task/Strike Forces, the Transformers: Dark of the Moon score is pretty grand epic from beginning to end, but primarily It's Our Fight reigns supreme as my Song To Kick @$$ To.

Although, recently found, this is quickly working it's way up there...
  19. Just about finished with my base outline forXeden's page. Pictures, and full history are now just about finished up to current.

I don't wanna dig around through the near-30 pasges of this thread, but does anyone know where one such as myself can find info for borders, tables, et cetera? I want to spice my page up a notch, but I'm terrible with html and all that.

Naturally those of us who didn't make the 50 or so that were done still cling to the hope that you might find time and/or inclination to do more. I guess I can't speak for anyone else, but I know that those were my thoughts throughout. I appreciated each new picture and hoped Dj would catch your artistic fancy. I never felt that YOU owed me anything.

Thanks for bringing so many characters to life.
This a thousand times over. I was just hopng to have a new VV Header image.

I do so hate to see this thread end so abruptly, though. Sorry if we caused issues for you, Deebs, your gesture was a kindhearted one.
