  1. I quite like this idea, might give people a reason to show off in public a bit more and make the different areas feel a bit more alive.

    /signed.
  2. Or try sending a tell to @Mime Artiste, Mime Artitse was kicked for being spelt badly
  3. Oooo I didnt know that AA was affected by Domination. So is Drain Psyche and powersink affected by Domination or not?

    Mace

Clobber is definately skippable. Pulverize is nice in the lower levels when you are short on attacks, but if you team lots and have VET powers, thats not such an issue. I took it at about 18 or so, and then specced out of it when I hit 42.

Once you have Shatter, Whiling Mace, Crowd Controll and Jawbreaker, you rarely need to use much else. I picked up BU at 49, and never really missed it, but then I built him as a Damage soaker first, damage dealer second. Tough is great with WP/, Weave is nice to have, but can be left till later.

The last 2 powers in mace are the really good ones, so it can feel a lil damage light till then, so Pulverize can be worth it to fill in the gaps.

Lets say you defeat a Nictus. Anyone notice a reward for that? I know I damn well wouldn't of.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Exactly. Kill Rom 4 times, get 4 rewards. Kill The Nictus, no Reward except for one Rom defeat. Hmmm Maths aint my strong point, but Isn't 4 usually more than 1?

    Mace

I have a lvl 50 WP/Mace tank and its a great toon. Shatter and Crowd Control do indeed do knockdown on most targets. If you are much higher than the mob, then the mag means it knocks them back (Doing this to lvl 1 mobs in Atlas is very entertainign ) But on normal mobs, it will usually knock them down. Jaw breaker does a nice amount of knockup, but Ive yet to see it do knockback, even on lvl 1 mobs (But I have gotten a few caught in the power lines as they plummet back to earth )

Axe does more damage, but with added stuns, and a good amount of knockdown, your mace becomes part of your damage mitigation, which on a WP/ can come in very usefull!
  7. It took 4 stacked CM for a toon not to get mezzed by the stun when Romulus rezzes, so thats quite hefty, my WP tank needed a breakfree to not get mezzed.

Attacking Romulus while something that deals damage to the healing nictus seems to be the key, and it seems it doesnt have to even be a tank which makes life easier. Killing Rom 4 times does seem to be easier, and you get the reward for killing him each time, so seems the better, more sensible option to me.
  8. Well I got him up to 7 last night solo, and he did remarkably well. Only problems came when on a run of bad luck I missed several times in a row and got sliced in half by the Snake. The mayhem was very entertaining though.

"Could all the civilians please clear out of the bank, im about to rob it" FWOOOOOOSSSHSSSSHHHH! *chuckles as civilians go flying everywhere*

A life of soloing it may be, but at least it will be a fun toon to solo, and I dont really care about how much use he will get at 50, I have toons for that.
  9. Last night, when I wasnt doing very much, I decided to create a new toon. An energy/storm corr appealed to me for its entertainment value, and 'The Ragdoll Physicist' was born. I played him for a few levels, and found him very entertaining, as anything that manged to get back on its feet, promptly got flung back again, and I did the first few levels only getting hit by the odd ranged attack. There is just so much potential to send stuff flying with this, I can see him being enourmous fun.

Then reality came knocking, and i realised that teams would hate him, open maps would be a nightmare, powers like the -res patch (name?) would be negated unless I could stick it in a corner, or fly up high and knock everything down onto it, and well, just general "can I be bothered to level this guy" thoughts.

So, does anyone have an energy/storm corr or storm/energy fender? Is it really as crazy as it seems? Will I be destined to soloing? Or could this fun toon be the sort of chaotic controll toon I've always wanted?

Thoughts and opinions please! Also, any tips on either set would be greatly appreciated.

Sadly DoctorBob, I really don't think she cares.

Anyone who actually likes getting angry and being abusive, isn't usually someone who empathises very well.
  11. I'de nearly forgotten about this guide, nice to know people still find it usefull. I might have to update it a bit with the new stalker changes, but reading through it, it all still stands. Now there is even more reason to stick with your team an not just use AS.

But yes doms overall are relatively sparce even now, but thats not because they suck - its because people just can't understand the insanity required to be a dominator in the truest sense of the word!

    Blind invites = OK

Going into a mish first = OK (seems to be a trend to hang around the doors for no good reason these days.

Starting a mish before everyone gets in there = OK

    [/ QUOTE ]

Unless it's a race, or the person has only just been invited or zones away, I think its very rude to start a mish without the whole team there. Fair enough if you dont want to wait for the MM to summon ect, but if you are on a team, and then go tearing off without parts of it, what concept of team do you have? The player might have a slow load, still be getting there, and you've gone off, meaning that they lose out. Just plain selfish and unjustified on a normal team.

Wait inside the mish by all means unless you are an sk, in which case it messes up the spawn lvls.

People who have so little time for others, should just solo and leave those who actually want to be part of a team, and play as a team, enjoy our teaming experience, and not get into a mish to find your nearly finished and that we just lost our mish bonus becuase you couldnt wait.

No wonder I so rarely use PuGs any more.
  14. Done this TF a few times, and have noticed a few things that I'le share here.

The Nitctus essense to the left of him as you look at him is the healing one, not sure about the other two. Get a tank/brute to stand on the left ready to taunt. The rest of the team prepares on the right hand side of the platform. You then pull Romulus to the right hand side. At this point, the tank/brute rushes in and womps the healing nictus. Taunt on its own does pretty much nothing to keep them occupied, you have to use gauntlet. You then pile on Romulus and let him take out one of the essences. Rinse and Repeat. The hardest part often comes when the spawning essence goes nuts and spawns lots of them. Try and get the tank/brute to grab this one too, if not all 3, and keep them away from Romulus, but still in Line of Sight. This part is important, as some teams have taken out Romulus out of LoS from the Nictus, and then been unable to overcome the Healing one.

Other tactics I've heard about are to confuse Romulus so he attacks the nictus.

But yeh, its the one on the left as you look at him that you need to get away ASAP, and remember to womp it, not just call it a big girl's blouse.

    Team etiquette

For me it depends on what toon I'm on, what im up to at the time, and whether I can be bothered. Blind invites on my lvl 50s are instantly ignored, as are almost all tells. No I dont want to farm. No I dont want to plvl you, and no I dont want to fill.

On my other toons, it all depends, If I am randomly soloing/pottering about, then I might accept a blind invite, but will usually check out the toons lvl first. If people send an invite and then a tell, they will usually get no reply. If someone sends a tell with no info ie "Want team?" then they will usually get no reply, or will be reffered to one of my friends for suitable abusing.

Politeness goes a long way. Taking those few extra seconds to type "Hey there! Want to join a lvl x team?" will get you a good response. Courtesy costs nothing but a bit of time and effort. The rewards however, are much greater.
  16. The main thing I've learned from the final mission, is that you actually need to wack the nictus with gauntlet to pull them away. Tanks/Brutes, bruisers or any thing else with a taunt effect, actually needs to hit them. Taunt on its own does nothing to pull them away.

    As for dealing with the surgeons: a nice bind to help;

/bind key "target_custom_next Surgeon" means you can find the surgeons in the mob and eliminate them quickly.
  17. One of the things I've found in the new zone is that the mobds dont like confuse/fear much, they do withstand holds a wee bit, but can still be held fairly easily, and that Domies really will come into there own when faced with the legions on the new TF. My domi tore through several of the repeatable mishs yesterday, and had absolutely no problems with the mobs. A great place for Domies to show off their power methinks!
  18. [ QUOTE ]
You will get more dmg from procs than just plain dmg IO's because the brawl index of a ST hold is quite low dmg wise.

    [/ QUOTE ]

But I dont have any damage IOs...
  19. Well seeing as its for a perma-dom build, recharge aint my thing, as its already on a 3 second recharge, so thats about as spammable as it gets. As for acc, I run tactics and have quite a lot of acc bonuses, so dont need as much acc.

    My thinking now:

    3x Dam/Mezz HOs
    1x acc/end essence of cuarae
    1x acc/end ghost widows embrace
1x chance for psi damage - ghost widows

Gives a decent amount of damage, great hold duration thats only very very slightly better with 3 Hold IOs, a decent amount of accuracy and end redux, a chance to do even more psi damage and a small run speed bonus to help his little legs get to the mobs before the brute does.

I think that might just be the slotting for me!
  20. Personally I put Hasten on auto, and have Domination where I can notice it easily, now with moveable power trays, this will become a lot easier. Depending on how much leeway you have, you just have to quick hitting Domination, as sometimes, if domination is just dropping, if you are quick enough you can still get it all back.

But if there is a macro to make life easier, ide be glad to know it!

    looking for a sg

    Welcome back to the game!

The Dirty Handprints are a very active SG that operate on both sides of the Isles, have a mature playerbase (physically at least) and are very active, running things most nights. Lowbies are always welcome too.

Check out the link in my sig to The Clean and Dirty Handprints forum, and feel free to send me tell @Mime Artiste, or send one to @Von or @Spiffer, and we can sort you out with an invite!
  22. I know a few people that have naming conventions, many of my toons are 'mime something' or 'something mime' so that members of my sg can easily spot which toons are mine and others know its me playing. I do have non Mime toons, but quite like the naming that comes along with the mimes, makes me come up with the puns ect that goes in line with this tratsie.
  23. I've got myself a perma-dom (and no, I dont farm) that works fine, but I'm still looking to improve him. I already have an unbreakable constraint set in my glacier and so am looking at improving my single target hold, block of ice. At the moment it just got IOs in it and is a very regular part of my attack chain.

So my question is this, "How best to slot a single target hold if not with a purple set to optimise it fully?"

I dont need to worry about recharge at all and have a pretty decent acc bonus already, so one acc/? io/ho would cover it mose likely. If people want to see my build, ile post it up here if needed.

Currently my thinking for the slotting is:

    1x acc/mezz HO
    2x dam/mezz HO
1x Devastation - chance for hold
    1x Damage IO
6th slot currently has an extra endrdx in it, but can either be used elsewhere or maybe another proc of some kind.

So what else can people suggest?
  24. Eddy_B

    Psychic Blaster

For me its probs a psi/nrg for all the pinkyness, or most likely an ice/mental. Frostbreath + Psy scream = huge slow cone. and the extra aoe fills the holes of psi nicely, and you can stack -rch and -spd too.
  25. I've been tinkering with an IO build for my tank, and could use a hand. I've managed to max his HP out, and make his regen rate insane, but could really use some help when it comes to slotting his attacks, and well, other general advice. He aint made for soloing really, or for PvP, but to be a PvE tank thats stupidly difficult to kill.

Any advice on slotting and IOs for this guy woudl be appreciated.
