*remembers the days of a lot of people grinding the ITF in a speed run to get those TF recipe drops*
I like trials because to me they're fun and a good laugh with the team -
Sounds interesting and can i just say its nice to see galaxy city getting some love

Quote:It is a foolish assumption to think you could just "Will" purples, is it not? The posting requestor wanted advice. I gave some advice but I didn't challenge his assumptions. Many people follow this strategy in real life.
You didnt give advice.
You gave information which you said was a fact.
This was wrong. -
-
Quote:The level you run at makes a diff as stated above but truthfully, the things we mention only increase your "odds" there are no guarantees.
Then really speaking you do need to word your posts a lot better, especially when somebody asks a question and your saying that THIS method is the best way to get purple drops when the method you was giving was 100% wrong.
All it does is spread false rumours. -
Quote:Ok. I dunno about the math...the wiki...all that goodness.
I don't know if tanks or scrappers get the most Drops. So I cannot say if this is right or wrong.
I have a friend though, who I often...ok almost always group with, and he is a fire/fire tanks. And our Spines/Fire Scrapper all seem to get the purples. Whether this is luck or not I am not sure. But they get them tons. Sometimes two a run.
I can't say it's because of the AT or it's killing prowes, cuz frankly I don't know. I do know that even if the information thats being posted about said killing ability is wrong, even completely wrong, it almost seems as though it's not wrong.
which is fair enough, some players do have a whole lot more luck than others which is what it comes down to end of the end. Plus you have to take into account what kind of difficulty are they running at?
A player running missions solo/duo at x8 WILL get a lot more purple drops than somebody in a team on a per kill ratio.
That however has nothing to do with who does X amount of damage or deals the killer blow, all it comes down to is a purple has X% to drop from an enemy and is then given to a member of the team at random. If a duo is running at x8 then the chance of them getting the purple is 3x higher than before. -
Quote:The next biggest after those two, in my opinion, is what global channels if any a person is a member of. Most of the teams I join are recruited thru Global Channels.
This really, most of the TFs/Teams i join these days are ones that have been advertised through global channels. -
Quote:You made some claims about 10 purples in a run, that's amazing. Even when thing go well for me 3-5 per run has been my max. 10 is just exceptional and I would love to see stats on that. This isn't a personal attack. Stats are 100% perfect but they do allow better conversation than one's based solely on wiki links.
I didnt say in one run, i said in one week. -

Quote:Turn on the herostats and post them for your trial runs, ok? I'm just curious. Some of my comments have been based on statistical analysis of herostat files.
If you are point blank saying that this is how things work [and to be honest its the first time i've EVER heard it] then you are the one who needs to provide all the evidence to proove this is the case in hand.
I am going from experience of playing on multiple different toons of a wide variety so i do not feel i have to show figures and everything to prove your theory is wrong sorry. -
Quote:I was talking about regular TFs not incarnate trials. Those are different.
Ok fine another case in hand then, on the ITFs on my emp which is a "pure buffer" with almost no attacks, i still get purples.
Is it from me dealing the killer blow? No, its from the RNG from the team i am on dealing X amount of damage to an enemy to have the chance of a drop which is then spread out throughout the team. -
Quote:There is a way...respec and choose more ancillary/epic powers and skip the regular ones.
100% no. Only do this if you want to add them to your build, dont add powers into your build because of this information, if it suits your build then fine great otherwise dont do it for this reason because its both wrong and incorrect [thats two types of wrongs].
I like to think that i have a lot of information regarding drops because i play a lot [just like you said in your post] and thats my argument and i have a feeling a lot of players will agree with me.
Edit to add:
Quote:The wiki is the young, inexperienced players hangout. They want to comment with authority but they have minimum actual game playing time so they quote from there to try to have their comments sound stronger. -
Quote:I forgot to add this but reading your comments, you must be in close proximity and make the killing shot for the purple. I say proximity because I play a lot too(freedom) and I've had loose teams where they break off and fight and teams where they stay together and fight. In the herostats, the stay together team always get more overall drops.
umm that might be because you as a team are fighting closer together thus killing things quicker
There is 100% no way that you have to be the one dealing the "killing blow" to get a purple [even as a trick].
On incarnate trials i get a ton of purples and most of the time its on my ill/rad when im either shouting out the tactics [thus not killing anything since i put away pets when i do that] or in heal mode [when the AVs are at 10% hp]. So the whole argument of dealing a killing blow is mute to be honest.
The teaming aspect is your best bet though and you can go months without a purple or you can get about 10 in a week [know a friend on Union Chat had something like that, lucky *****]. There never has been a trick to getting purples, never has and never will. -
Never been to wales and curious to see what its like? Well i just uploaded 2 pictures of how its like here today

The new auras/costume pieces in i20.5 has already made me want to make about 5 new alts
A new costume piece/powerset always gives me a new idea for a new character! -

Trying to log in my brute who is in Cap atm [at the black market] and currently unable to log him in. Every other character i have no problem zoning into the game [in other zones] except Cap.
The zone down or something? Repaired and verified the game files just incase but that didnt help.
