Quote:There is no extra salvage, outside of what I mentioned--that you get an uncommon (the Gluon) if you earn a regular badge. It's worth noting that earning a Mo badge will net you a one-time rare piece. I misspoke earlier--while in my head I think of anything that isn't a common as rare, the reward for earning a badge is an uncommon.Somewhat--if there is a reason for the extra astral, great. What about the extra drop of salvage in addition to the one I choose? And sometimes on BAF I get it after one of the phases, but not at the end (well at the end, but in addition). For some reason when I get this drop on BAF, it is usually Gluon Compound, but not sure why about that either.
I'm going to go out on a limb and assume that you're talking about running the BAF with multiple characters, and you're having trouble following who has done what. This would explain why you sometimes get a piece of uncommon salvage, and sometimes an astral. If character Z (already has the no-prisoners-escaped badge) doesn't allow any prisoners to escape in the BAF, he gets two Astrals. One for successfully completing the phase, and one for the badge "credit." If character Y (who has never gotten the badge) doesn't allow any prisoners to escape in the BAF, he gets the badge, a piece of uncommon salvage, and one Astral for phase completion.
Am I doing any better? -
Quote:None of it is random, except threads and which table you receive at the end of the trial. Phases of the trial that are completed successfully award an Astral. Trial completion awards Empyreans. If you qualify for a badge, you earn the badge plus a piece of rare salvage. If you've already gotten the badge, you receive an Astral. On several trials I get what I consider the usual drops on iTrials (1-2 astral merits after prisoners on BAF, etc). Sometimes, though, I get a random drop of an astral merit or even salvage. For example, I got an astral merit after first getting first nade on a Lambda this weekend. I have also gotten "extra" salvage at the end of a trial, in addition to the one I "chose".
Are these drops truly random or is there an order I just haven't noticed yet (Like they drop during the first time I do that trial?).
If you got an extra Astral while in the warehouse/lab phase of a Lambda, it means you qualified for the "get a grenade and an acid at the same time" badge, but already had it.
Make sense? -
So let's hear it for Wednesday of this week, right? Zwill said not on Tuesday.
Beyond that, I'm betting on next Tuesday. -
Thanks to Aggelakis, I know about this. I'd seen the thread, but not really experienced this faaaaaabulous bug. Did last night, and was locked out of my character for, for me, the rest of the night.

Long Question (skip to the end for TL;DR): Last night I was on a number of trials (the first ones to not auto-team-kick in a while), and was generally having a good time. We were on the final battle against Maelstrom in the TPN, and his health bar was just starting to budge. All of a sudden, I'm at the login screen with the message "You have been kicked."
Okay, something weird happened, quick, let's try and login and rejoin before Maelstrom dies. Except it wouldn't let me. I could select the character and hit, "Enter Paragon City," but then it would just throw me back to the login screen with the message "CharacterName has been kicked from the server." I just kept trying and trying to make it back into the game to try and catch the end of the trial, but every time it was the same--red text saying that that character was kicked from the server. It was like I was blacklisted. Even after a good fifteen minutes, I still didn't have access to that character.
Now I'll grant you that I didn't try logging in any other characters, but what did I do to trigger this? Will I get my character back? I don't have any e-mails from CS or GM, and I certainly know my EULA/TOS business. So what gives?
Short Question: Why was I kicked, and when do I get my character back? -
Let me start by saying that I haven't had a low-level character in years.
I was interested in running DFB for the badges on my main badger. Wow. It is fun, engaging, challenging, and easy to understand, and allows for multiple strategies as well as different team makeups. In summary: it's everything I wish the UGT was. -
As much as I love Ascendant (#2), the winner was well picked--I spit out what was in my mouth and totally lost it. Well done!

Quote:What exactly are you saying?First off I liked the SSA's up to now and like the direction they are going and ending the long stagnant rebuilding Paragon City thing and moving away from the Ritki War storyline(tho I still get a nagging feeling it is not done)I like the idea we have story progression finally with real game repercussions. Now I finally got around and did number 6 hero side and tho I shocked at the ending, I found myself in the end hoping the battle with Wade will be epic. Not normal epic I got a coffee free for 3 days(tho that would be rockin), I mean Hulk/Sentry or ending of JLU Superman/Darkseid where windows shatter and the ground breaks apart after a powerful hit epic where everyone in Paragon or the Isles sees it and stands in awe and or runs form the hell your bringing. After all your hero/villain is after him and he has targeted you for death so the fight should be that kind of level for a final confrontation that gets you pumped for action and end it with a sense of satisfaction. So I hope that the FP will be there for some major payback and not just leave it up to you to do it alone(tho it would establish you as THE hero above them) especially both Liberty and Maticore.
But I also hope the aftermath is also great as well. I am going to use a bad word for those who are comic readers so I am warning you and apologizing off the bat. Now I see the FP doing a "Avengers Disassembled" and some going their own separate ways and going all fanatical to protect Paragon and making sure there is never another Wade, leaving Positron to keep the core of what Statesman envisioned alive and dissolving the Vindicators and bringing them into the group.
That is my hope. I have a feeling I am going to be beaten up for it. -
I have also offered my services as a "bonded" intermediary. I'm bonded in that I have no need of the money, and can potentially cover losses should some manner of server hiccup eliminate an item from play.

Quote:Yeah, the GameStop I did my thing at also had never heard of the game. I had to basically sell them the whole concept of the pre-order.You didn't let me down, Gamestop did. But I don't remember these even being annouced as part of the preorder deal. I thought it was just the codes, so I never even would have asked them for it. Not that the employee at my local Gamestop even knew what City of Heroes was when I asked to preorder it.

Hi. I have very high expectations.
-
Oh dear god, you people make these things look easy.
-
-
Well we could certainly say, "This is not an issue that requires in-game contact, and as such I will not be responding to /tells from a GM," but not only is there a limited reporting space...if this is the way the new policy goes, then we're basically doing a backwards witness intimidation. Without our testimony, there is not point in reporting the EULA/TOS breaker in the first place.
-
Wow, that is absolute complete ********. If I manage to grab one of those in the future, I'll just outright give it to you. At this point in time, I'm working on a project that has sequestered most of my inf. Otherwise I would cover your losses. Right now I can offer 1B. PM me if you want to take me up on it.

"While supplies last" means some Gamestop employee wallpapered his gooncave with Dezzie's butt.
Sorry to let you down, but I've only got the one and I'm mailing it out to Zenlon.
I've managed to find an original pack of promotional CoH Trading cards with the seal broken--though they're all there, and I think, a special "rare" promo Statesman card. If anyone wants 'em, I'll ship them out. -
Yes, Ted, that's what I'm saying. If the OP wants a challenge, that's the place to begin.
-
My question is, why did this change after nearly eight years. And it's not a change for the better--far from it.

Quote:This is a thank you to all your teammates who know what they're doing and are buffed to the gills with high-tier Incarnate stuff, right?I decided to run a few Raids as the solo content is not out yet and I wanted to get my 50 Blaster up to tier 4 Alpha.
First of all the raids aren't Hard. They have some gimmicks that if you have run the Apex trial you have seen before. Glowing spots on the ground - check - unresisted damage DoTing you to death - check.
The BaF I ran last night and the prisoner escape sequence is flatout silly. I found within 20 seconds they ran a pre-determined path. I stood at the end of the path where they turned - with Chilling Embrace on and using Shiver and Shockwave and not a single prisoner escaped.
It wasn't even close. Then the hard part take down 2 AV's at the same time. Well since we herded them together and we were spamming them with AoE's it wasn't until they had 25% health left we even had to worry about it. Then it was figure out which one we were killing easier and kill the other one first.
Bingo - done in less than 15 minutes.
Then a nice stroll on a Lam - in which the only threat was lag - I died once due to a lag death otherwise we had zero problems - except due to not enough debuffs we had to use a couple grenades. So no badge since we used 3.
If you can read - the trials are easy. It says in big letters - this is now happening - then it happens. I was actually interested in seeing what everyone found so hard, I don't see it. They were not even in the same realm as trying to solo a Purple level Proton. He is far harder and requires some planning.
Color me not impressed. I would prefer a larger critter with a few effects that make the fight interesting to power spamming.
Try running the new Death trial the day it comes out.
