Quote:I was referring to "Atomic Moshpit" for an obvious band name, mostly. "Nuclear Autumn" sounds more like a SyFy-nee-Sci-Fi Original Movie.
The same could be said about Twilight's Jewel. Nuclear Autumn is the name of my first Cyberpunk character. Had her going on 20 years now.
"Twilight's Jewel" was my attempt at a Star Sapphire pastiche, to be honest. But I also like to think it's what Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner would name their vanity band project. -
Quote:Eh, those are better band names than superhero names, I think.Off the top of my head I found these are available on Virtue.
Nuclear-Wynter
Nuclear-Autumn
Nu Clear Winter
Nu Clear Autumn
Nuke Leah Winter
Nuke Leah Autumn
Atomic Soundwave
Nuke Leah Soundwave
Atomic Moshpit
Nuke Leah Moshpit
I can't complain about grabbing names, though. Last three names I picked up were Strike Reaver (DB/Elec Scrapper - Virtue), Woodfiend (Plant/Thorns Dominator - Freedom) and Twilight's Jewel (Warshade - Freedom). The first two were first tries/choices, and Twilight's Jewel was a third try. I'm pretty happy. -

This, absolutely, 100%. Can we turn that into a giant sticky-billboard thing and make it the first thing people see when they load up the game and visit the boards?

Quote:I'm another one who takes the axe on characters who are already negative-heavy or will otherwise have a hard time against axe-weak enemies. I have to say, even with the heavy tohit debuffs, the characters that have the axe still find it useful. Plus, it's so satisfying when you still manage to cleave something to death even through stacked tohit debuffs.I picked up the Axe on 2 characters when Vet Rewards came out. And I soon figured out that it sucked. Consider:
- Sands of Mu = double damage, (reliable) melee AOE (whose range was increased recently), -tohit debuff
- Undead Slaying Axe = double damage (to certain foes who, if they tag you first, debuffs your tohit to emphasize how much of a waste the Axe is against said foes)
I really gave serious thought to rerolling these characters. The only reason I didn't were becaue of the Anniversary badges. -
Quote:Maybe it's really supposed to be "Stephanie", and she just doesn't like it? Like back in the day on Father Dowling Mysteries - his nun sidekick was properly Sister Stephanie, and she always preferred to be called Sister Steve.I think we're all missing out on a deeper issue, which I would like to bring to light.
This dude's toon is a chick named Steve.
I'm old. -

I got negative rep for stating that I do give my characters developed bios in a thread about how no one fills in their bios creatively anymore. It said, "I've never read any of your bios, but if you feel like you have to defend them then you must be a twit."
Twit is as twit does, *******. -

Tonight on Pinnacle, my game has gone completely black screen and unresponsive twice - once while traveling through Talos Island and again while trying to hospital. The second time, my display was very laggy and stop-motion during my game session. Each time I see an alert icon in my taskbar saying "Display driver has stopped responding and had recovered." But the game is still stuck in black screen, and I have to Ctrl-Alt-Delete my way out of it.
I'm running Windows Vista, and the only thing that seems to be affected by this malfunctioning display driver is CoX; everything else still displays just fine. Does anyone have any suggestions on how I can fix this? -
Quote:True. It seems that even characters whose difficulty is set not to spawn bosses can still pull bosses in the Trick. What really bites is that the bosses are not always by themselves when they spawn. My Stalker is still in traction because of that stupid Vampire Lord and his Werewolf Lt.It is however not good for squishy AT's who are unable to defeat strong opponents. I noticed that my veat has to work very hard not to die out there.

I just tried every combination of hitting or holding down F1, 1, and 2 I can think of, and I still only ever managed to use just one inspiration at a time. How in heck do you guys manage to accidentally use every inspiration you have at once?
-
The only keymappings I ever change are the targeting keys. In nearly 5 years, I have never used every single inspiration in my tray at once, either accidentally or on purpose. What the hell are you doing?

I'm a Scorpio; add me to the chorus of "dead on". Except the Mastermind and Tanker descriptions (I don't play with proper, Tanker-like behavior at all - not even on my Tankers; it's just not for me), that's pretty much exactly how I play. Only with less mania and more precision killing of things.
And I too am a motormouth jokester in-game. Good thing I type fast, or else I would probably die a lot more. My teammates probably would too, but their experience is of course secondary to mine. -
Quote:I don't know about you, but my PB's +end power (I forget what it's called just now) and slotting IOs to up my recovery rate fixed all my HEAT end woes and then some, with no Stamina. As for squishability - at least I think that's your other complaint - Dwarf form does wonders to clear that up; my PB plays backup Tanker all the time. He's 47 now, and I'm just waiting for Halloween to come around to get him his last costume slot before I get him to 50.Now, I'm not saying 'OMG HEATs suck'. A lot of people seem to swear by Tri-form Warshades, and a number of people obviously enjoy playing them.
This is more a question to see if I'm doing anything majorly 'wrong', or wether they get a whole new meaning of 'awesome' at a certain specific point.
Tried both PB and WS to around 20s, got a lil' PB at 19 right now. Just...I don't know what it is. The endurance costs dont seem to help but, then again, no Stamina yet. The damage taken seems extreme, but then this is on DOs.
Anyone else feel burnout come along very quickly on PBs and/or WSs?
Maybe the AT just isn't for you? -
Eh, 72.73%. I'm still trying to decide if the quiz-maker speaks English only as a second language, or just doesn't care.
The 5th Column or the RAT? Really? -
Eh. "Yellow snow" is an old, easily recognizable joke. But red ice as frozen blood? That's a stretch. Especially since if I wanted to schmear blood everywhere, I could easily resort to default Pain Domination or red-colored Dark Miasma and/or Dark Blast - infinitely more obvious blood stand-ins.
-
Yellow I can understand, but why would red ice be objectionable?

Quote:I thought a tweaker was a meth addict. :/Heh, fair enough. It's just that around where I live, a tweaker is a person who can't sit still, mutters, sweats, compulsively disassembles household appliances, and occasionally gets electrocuted trying to steal the copper wires from electrical substations.

This was sort of a facepalm moment; I'm sure it would be to some people who are far better at this game than I, but to me it was just plain funny.
This evening I ran one of the SoA missions where you fight Back Alley Brawler. During the first half of the fight he was missing me a lot because of my defense, but my toggles and attacks drained a good bit of my endurance because I don't have any serious end-reduction slotting in place yet. Eventually my end bottomed out, just in time for his purple triangles of doom to go up. This resulted in me trying to Placate him and run back across the room in order to lose his aggro and hit Rest. Unfortunately a Longbow ambush comes along and un-Hides me, so I'm forced to take them out while being chased by BABs.
What ensued was probably the most unintentionally hilarious thing that has happened to me in-game in a good while. My fairy-winged, tutu-wearing huge male Widow was chasing two Longbow Nullifiers around the room while being chased by the Back Alley Brawler, who is hurling boulders at me the whole time. And in my head, the Benny Hill chase music is playing throughout all of this. Fortunately for me, I eventually got some end back and managed to whittle BABs' HP down with Mental Blasts.
I'm sure this would not have happened to a lot of other players, especially on a SoA; I freely admit that I only barely don't suck at this game. But I was giggling hysterically for a good long while afterwards. -
Quote:I thought I made it clear when I first posted: ParagonWiki does not have any information on the powers of the villains I'm trying to learn about. Their lists of powers are blank. That's why I'm asking the players.
-
I went on my first Dr. Khan TF last night and noticed that some of the lesser known RIVs are in the first mission. I've been trying to get information on these characters for a while, but haven't done either of the TFs they show up in until now.
Does anyone know what their powers are? ParagonWiki still doesn't list any info for them, and I was only able to catch a few during the TF: Bad Penny is an Elec/Elec Brute (which I only know because he hit his tier 9 and was unkillable for 5 minutes) and Sardonic is Energy Melee/something. Can anyone tell me what Sardonic's, Comrade's, and Misadventure's powers are? -
I write (pretty damn good) backstories in my characters' profile section to explain their powers, appearance, and general raisons d'etre. If I then want to give my Blaster blue fire just freakin' because I feel like it, I do believe that's my prerogative.
I say the OP should pick better battles. There are loads of people in this game who justify next to nothing about their characters.
