    TR gone

I know this could be taken as mocking, but it really isn't.

My sympathies for your loss, TR players.

    New Retail Box

Well, the lack of a new box in the EU will save me some money. But I was looking forward to a shiny new CoH box in case I ever need to update again. Shame, really.

    Ahem.....INTERENT CONNECTION REQUIRED?
  5. This is all sounding better and better.
  6. DOOOOOO........wait. That looks good, to be honest!
  7. ...and remember, Proper Nouns, like, for instance, NAMES, START WITH A CAPITAL LETTER!!

Even if you have a brilliant bio that explains why your superhero doesn't have a capitalised name, most people will think less of you if your name isn't CAPITALISED!

(No, that doesn't mean all caps, either, those are just for angry emphasis.)
  8. Last day today for the EU, I believe. Good luck everyone, thanks for everything. Be well, be lucky.
  9. BST is British Summer Time.
We are currently in GMT, so I'd guess that's the time.

    Bravo.

We should make a Paragon Crescent variant

    [/ QUOTE ]

Now, that would be a good idea. You'd have to include all the possible travel routes within zones though... Mmmm...

    *Puts thinking cap on*

    [/ QUOTE ]

*blinks* No you wouldn't. Mornington Crescent has no rules, as such - a new version wouldn't need to be thought out. There are no rules. Just start saying stuff.

    [/ QUOTE ]

No rules? NO RULES? NO RULES?

Excuse me, I need to go and sit in a darkened room. We're British goddamit! OF COURSE THERE ARE RULES!

it's the same thing all over again, america first, and europe can clean up there mess again.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Try writing coherent, incisive, well thought-out and presented discussions and guides, with proper capitalised sentences, rather than whining that it's not fair.
Surely that is a much more effective way to get into a beta, rather than complaining that the US gets all the treats (and I believe the EU have had beta testers before anyway).
If I was in charge Mids, Arcanaville and Samuraiko (for example) would always get beta invites. Random people complaining it's not fair, either here or in the US, would get squit all.
  12. The greater the variety of options for entertainment in this game, the longer the appeal will last. I, for one, welcome our new Jackanory Overlords!

Ok, it's the longest on-topic one then

    [/ QUOTE ]

That may well be the case .
  14. Nope, the Precision Rangers and the RP threads were/are bigger.

I'm not exactly worried that support for EU COH will suddenly dissapear with no warning.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I'm not worried either that support will suddenly disappear for EU.COH - I AM worried that the support staff left will be stretched beyond what is normally deemed an exceptable level of service. I've had an account problem that took a couple of days to resolve properly before!... and that was before both sets of EU.staff cuts down at Brighton.
The alternative will be U.S support handles more of our account problems - I don't fancy how long any Account or In-game help will take if we are in different time zones.

I'd rather be offered a transfer thankyou.

    [/ QUOTE ]
The flaw there is that, with a transfer, you'll still be in a different time zone to the US support staff.

Also I'm pretty sure no actual game support staff were made redundant in the last round of cuts.

    [/ QUOTE ]

They were affected. I remember talking to a GM who said that all had been made redundant, then they had to all reapply for fewer remaining jobs.
  16. Another joyful day EU side, then .

Good luck to all in Brighton, this is a big pile of **** and I feel for you all.
  17. I'd like to join in, if there's a spot .
  18. All the QA staff at NC Austin were layed off today as well, I hear.

Why does everthing seem determined to go to hell in handbasket on Wednesdays?

I pray you're wrong FFM, I really do.

    [/ QUOTE ]

No one more than me wishes that I *am* wrong, trust me on that.

But if this IS all true, and it's looking like it is, I don't see how I will be, except maybe in the fine detail.

It could be worse... When they closed the Korean servers, they just gave them all US accounts; no character transfers at all.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Well, that WOULD be easier on the databases...
  20. [ QUOTE ]
Likewise. Sod the game; it's just a game. This is people's JOBS!

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Well said, FFM.

  22. To get the flushdns to work on Vista:
    1. Create a shortcut to cmd.exe (in the windows/system32 folder).
    2. Run this shortcut as administrator.

Otherwise, like I did, you may well get a message saying:
    "the requested operation requires elevation"
