Yeah I've got the same problem. I was able to log in about 30 mins ago though.

My Disciples on Freedom:
Dark Access - LVL 50+3 Dark/Dark/Stone Mastery, Master of debuff and Control
Healing Aoi - LVL 50+3 Empathy/Archery/Power Mastery, Defender Blaster hybrid
Mega Electron - LVL 50+3 Electrical Armor/Kinetic Melee/Mu Mastery, Spanker
Max Fource - LVL 50+3 Fiery Aura/Electrical Melee/Pyre Mastery, Blanker (Blaster+tanker)
Same problem here.
Yeah could login little over an hour ago but experienced huge amount of lag ..spring back and mapserver disconnections...
I denied connections to cohupdateEU.coh.com with LittleSnitch, so that the updater could connect to the other server, and it went fine.
my updater also didn't work o.o
Yeah mine doesn't seem to be connecting either. Least it's not just me.

yeah seems someone ate the play doh that makes the servers again :/
give it ten minutes till someone runs to the shop to buy some more.
All's fine here. Perhaps it's your ISP's having problems?

Tiscali here, it was working fine a couple of hours ago so its unlikely its that, plus the internet sides working fine.
Mirrors Edge is working fine online at the minute. FFM you tried this logged off the game completly? its the first screen you get when you click the icon saying 'connecting #1' that i cant get past.

I didn't have the game loaded at all when I saw this thread, so I loaded it up. Connected instantly, as usual.

same here....it was ok at 5:30 am wheni checked to see if I'd gotten a day job badge I was after...not that i'm obssessed or anything. just come in...and the coh updater is making several unsuccessful attempts to connect. the firewall software says the cohupdater.exe and cityofheroes.exe are both allowed. GR mentions that this sometimes happens after a patch, but as far as i can see...the updater hasn't even got to the stage of making a patch request.

If your a virgin, i suspect you are having trouble connecting to something, its rarely through choice 
anyway jokes aside, i hope they sort this soon :/ seems everything is really unstable lately.

Edit to update: until this is resolved, please try opening and closing the launcher until you get a connection. You should be able to get a good connection within a few tries.
Virgin media here too...just testing the download speed to Frankfurt as i heard a rumour the server cluster was thereabouts..speed logged in at just over 12mb. However the updater is now on connection attempt no. 7

Not sure if it matters but I'm on Tiscali and still getting no where. Tried GR's advice but still nothing.

It didn't connect instantly but i left it for 2 mins and it came up, so i should imagine with a little patience it will connect on it's own.
Edit: to say I'm with Virgin media also.

just tried to get on updater wont connect tried it a good few times still having problems any update on whats happening ?

Support may ask for further information, including possibly asking you to run a tool to help us trace this.
Just tried 6 to 8 times and no joy. Then tried test first attempt and patching.
