  1. So, still pondering GG-inspired characters, and wondering if there's any "schmot guyz und clenks" supergroups out there. Anyone know of one, or interested in starting one?
  2. I also want to let you know how much I've appreciated this thread as well. It's given me a solid reference to help figure out how to get started for myself.
  3. Messing around (I always end up with WAY more melee defense than I need,so start paring back) and am at softcap, but not over it. I think I might start learning about the purple sets and seeing where I can improve recharge some (among other areas such as damage, accuracy, recovery)

  5. Thanks guys. The only reason I picked up the Medicine pool is that I couldn't think of anything else I wanted. I guess I could go into Leadership or something. Right now he is having really bad endurance issues, but that's mostly from bad slotting, as I've been kind of haphazard while leveling.
  6. I need to respec my MA/SR for inherent fitness, but I'm having trouble finalizing the build. Here is where I am now, but even two-slotted, Weave is overkill. I didn't take a travel power except CJ for defense, for concept reasons (he's a normal human who has trained to the peak of perfection.) Between the travel boosts he gets even now before respec added to Ninja Run, he really isn't missing out.

    I'd really appreciate any feedback on this, so I can finalize it and get to working on the sets I'll need.

  9. Well, if brute had BS, I'd be playing it. I remember a chart somewhere showing all the brute primaries outdamaging the scrapper ones. Guess I should look at damage numbers in Mids and compare WM and BA.

  13. I've always thought that the CoH universe lends itself to an GG-inspired backstory for player characters.

    Clockworks = clanks. Clockwork King isn't the first person to put his consciousness into a metal body.

    Dr Vahzilok is obviously a spark that had no formal training, with his constructs.

  14. ok, blew $10 on the Science pack *only* to get the double breasted lab coat, only to find there's no trim, and the second color changes the entire front, not the buttons. It makes you look like you're wearing a giant baby bib.

    So, using the single breasted lab coat (purple with gold buttons,) the Occult top hat, wedding tux sleeves, resistance (I think) tucked pants (looks like cavalry pants with the stripe down the seam) and boots (forget which ones.)

    I'll post an image tomorrow, but what I think would really look nice is the regular Praetorian PD uniform coat (not the armor.) I didn't recall seeing it in the costume creator, so it may not be available.

    (As an aside, we should be able to have the "shooting star" Praetorian logo, like we have CoT, Arachnos, etc.)

Right now I'm street sweeping in Mercy and feeling pretty darned unstoppable, but thought I should do it right and ask for a leveling build. Also, how early can I start hitting AE missions, or is there a faster leveling method?
  16. If you don't mind losing the savings from the long-term subscription rates, just buy a pile of game time cards and activate them. They should tack the extra time onto your existing time.
  17. I need to respec and IO out my old, old bots/ff MM. I never really followed a build, just kind of did everything on the fly. I think I have a different pet set in each tier, for example. I have Flight, Teleport, and Medicine as my power pools. If anyone could give me some help on a build I'd greatly appreciate it. He hit 50 before the Soldiers of Arachnos were introduced, and I haven't touched him since.

    I was trying to make a uniform using the Baron hat and coat, but it really got a bit gaudy (the coat, not the hat- that hat's great!) and not having much luck. I guess I'll have to make a "detached" Jager, or perhaps a "feral" Jager from the Old Times when the Heterodyne rulers were more... "fun." I haven't given up on the uniform quite yet though.

  23. being a huge fan of "Girl Genius", I was looking to make a character with the "gaslamp fantasy" feel, but there seems to be no real options aside from spiky epaulets and the "occult" Baron top hat. I was hoping we'd have some options similar to Nemesis uniforms, since we're allowed to choose Nemesis rifles in weapon customization.

    Anyone had any success in making steampunk soldier costume?
