Has bots/ff changed in two years?
Well, here's my current live build. It's got a few expensive(ish) enhancements, but nothing horrendous in terms of cost.
Some might want to swap in some +Def IO's into the Protector Bots, and maybe shift a few slots into other powers to get a few more +Def Set Bonuses.
But for me, once the Nerve Alpha Incarnate power is active (+20% Def) and I have Force Shield from my Protector Bots I am soft-capped and able to plough through most things without blinking.
With Musculature Alpha slotted, I take some damage, but things die a chunk faster (and I have PFF and Aid Self if things get too hairy).
Keeping active is done with my Vet Nem Staff, Pulse Rifle Burst, Web Envelope and Web Cocoon. I have enough to do so I don't have to sit back and enjoy the firefight (though i certainly can if I choose to!)

I don't remember how long ago the changed occurred, but you can't slot a Force Feedback chance for recharge proc in the Assault Bot and get any benefit. In fact, with the change, there is NOTHING you can do to affect the recharge rate of pet powers.
Triumphant Defenders Forever

HelinCarnate:OMG it is so terrible. I have the option to take 3 more powers but no additional slots. Boo F'ing hoo.
I think Zaprobo build is pretty much the going Robot FF build. There just is not much to do with them. You can change powers here and there but for the most part that is the routed I have seen many Robot FF players go.
Pretty much many pick up aid other and aid self. Some might pick up Repair some might not. Just about every master mind picks up maneuvers and tactics regardless of AT.
Epics are a bit of a debate but its either mace for the S/L defense bonus and AOE holds or something in that vane. EG I haven't seen many go Leviathan or Charge mastery persay.
So with that your talking about maybe 2 to 4 power difference between you and another Force Field mastermind.
I know my build is like Zap and I just cannot get a feel for it atm. Personally I think I'm jaded by Traps and the ease it offers.

Being a newbie and not having a clue as to what I was doing, I went with the Leviathian mastery and have regretted ever since really understanding the game.

But even respecing sometimes I feel like I have to build up to do it. It is so annoying and long to do I practically have to set up a day in the future and say on this day I will do that respec I have been dragging out.

Recently redesigned mine thanks to inherent fitness and alignment changes, nicely capped defense plus tough and temp invulnerability for 70% S/L. Goes from being a Supertankermind to a Supertankermind three.
I need to respec and IO out my old, old bots/ff MM. I never really followed a build, just kind of did everything on the fly. I think I have a different pet set in each tier, for example. I have Flight, Teleport, and Medicine as my power pools. If anyone could give me some help on a build I'd greatly appreciate it. He hit 50 before the Soldiers of Arachnos were introduced, and I haven't touched him since.
Thanks!
