thanks for the official word - it's nice to know we're not being totally left in the dark after all

I swear the badge has always said you need to defeat Wolf Spiders to achieve it.
[/ QUOTE ]
that made me go back & re-check, but no, it doesn't -
in what, i suspect, was one of the final notes from EU support, i've been told that the badge is for Wolf Spiders. tested that and it's right, so thanks!
-
best wishes and much luck for whatever you do next
-
next up, Sakuri Winter.
great idea to post the bios here!
Sakuri Winter, Happy Christmas!
(am pleased with how this one turned out, although the temptation to give her a 60's Green Arrow boxing glove arrow was considerable) -
you're both barred, but i'm fine, since i'm in there now

When they closed the Korean servers, they just gave them all US accounts; no character transfers at all.
[/ QUOTE ]
S*d that, I would expect everything related to my Character suite Red-side/Blue-side and SG ported over or replicated.
Major pouting and reconsiderations if not.
[/ QUOTE ]
Which is why I think something like my prediction is more likely.
It'll cost them a bit of money to do such a marger BUT, they'll lose less people that if they just cut us all off and made us start fresh. I know that I for one probably would accept a transfer (depending on names), but if I LOST my chars and vet rewards etc, I'd just go.
[/ QUOTE ]
Yep that would be me finally bowing out too if i had to start from scratch.
[/ QUOTE ]
me too i'm afraid - i suspect a lot of folks would do the same -
the lack of empathy on these boards is sometimes shocking. please spare a thought for the people involved in what are very trying times
-
many sympathies from me too - horrible news

the bar on my tank, who's now level 41, has been static at 75/200 on the Spider Smasher badge progress bar for around twenty levels now. is this a new thing or has anyone else seen the same thing?
-
thanks everyone, back on the drawing board, and off the wagon now...
next up is Gunnodoyak (a kind of Canadian old-school Wonder Man clone)
Gunnodoyak, Happy Christmas! -
my gun's not big enough to make that much noise...

I just made a post about this. It got deleted real quick. Pitty COX are not so efficient when it comes to fixing game-brakeing bugs, as they are at censorship. (Running around looking like a child with a pretend gun is a game-breaker for me.)
I started playing in December and I've never seen chat working properly. I don't think it's worth sticking around to see how long it takes for my toon to not look completely stupid.
[/ QUOTE ]
i have the same problem on my VEAT. i've found that making a bind which makes my character shout 'pew pew pew' when shooting helps tremendously -
i've been unable to work on these for a week or so, for personal reasons, but will be back on them soon. my apologies if i haven't done your character yet.

i totally agree, but now, the only extras being produced are the paid for bonus packs. this was inevitable, and an obvious policy shift from NCSoft. i fully expect that issues will go the same way.
[/ QUOTE ]
I sincerely hope not, I am trying to give NCsoft the benefit of the doubt when it comes to the events, but those of us who have subscribed for over one year will no doubt start to recognise re-hashed content, and there is the argument that It does more harm than good in the eyes of subscribers.
My fear is that Architect (albeit a player-requested feature) will have a negative effect on the amount of NorCal created new Taskforces and missions both Red-side and Blue-side, because there could be this underlying ethos felt or quoted of "You make the content™ with The Mission Architect" (said in the same way as Robocop's "You pick the heart!") .
I pray with every fibre of my being this doesn't make NorCal lazier.
[/ QUOTE ]
well, when they stepped onto the micro-transaction slope, the goal posts changed for them. before, the little extras they included - special events costumes, badges, temp powers and such were just that - extras. a little bonus to the playing community. now? now they know that a significant chunk of that community will pay extra, there is no incentive for them to work on and publish extra bonus content. i'm well into my third year here, still new by may posters standards, but i'm afraid that my perception of NCSoft's corporate policy as regards it's players has suffered considerably recently. -

If they had done new stuff for Valanties, it would have had to be tested.
the test server has been frantically busy trying to clear the decks so issue 14 can be tested.
Having a valantine event would have pushed back the resolution of issue 13 issues (i.e. chat bug) and hence pushed back issue 14, and issue 15, which is tightly shedualed to co-inside with the 5th aniversary.
[/ QUOTE ]
I understand what you're saying Praf68, but as you know these things aren't dreamt up, built and tested in the fortnight before the event goes live. If you are going to run annual events and market them to your subscribers, Time should of been put aside a year ahead to concept, build and test said new feature alongside ongoing Issue updates.
There really is no excuse for it, and as a subscriber I hold them to a monthly fee of £8.99 for good events alongside Issue updates.

It seems to have fixed itself during weekend. I had computer turned off while family visited. Then when i booted up on sunday i got a popup in msn if i wanted to update my profile, and now i can see peoples profiles, i could also follow download links and finally got the f'in games for windows client so i could buy fallout 3 expansion.
Not sure what the error was, heh. Seems to have fixed itself tho.
[/ QUOTE ]
that's good to hear.
so, actually turning it off and on again fixed the problem? do the IT Crowd actually know what they're talking about then? -
thanks very much! many congratulations to all the other winners too!

I think the solution to that is to know what you are aiming for. I had already planned out my build for level 24, so as soon as I hit that level I could become the character I had always ben aiming for.
Alterantively, you could always just reselect the powers you had previously.
[/ QUOTE ]
i'm sure you're right, and i expect i'll re-visit the AT, but i just felt dissapointed by it. i'm fully aware that it's probably my failing, but i never plan my builds -
[ QUOTE ]
I got my widow up to 24 when they were first released by teaming with loads of other VEATS (and man they are awesome wen teaming with each other). However, I somehow lost interest when it came time to respec! Because I could choose all these new powers that I had no idea about it somehow felt like I didn't know the character any more and so lost the connection I like to have when playing.
[/ QUOTE ]
i felt exactly the same. all that effort going into playing what was essentially a sub-par scrapper whom i'd begun to like, then suddenly all your past choices are meaningless, and you have a choice of two new characters to play. didn't like it myself -
