Quote:That's pretty harsh. The guy's just giving us a teaser. I got it immediately as did quite a few other people. And if you didn't get it right away, well, that's kind of the point of a teaser.I still don't get it, but that just makes it par with the usual rundown of Zwill's posts and image macros.
No need to criticize because you don't share his sense of humor. I'm glad that we have a community person who has a personality and has fun on the forums. <shrug> -
Interesting. I didn't know that. What happens when you fill the tip mission bar and cannot do the alignment mission? No more tips drop?
-
I would expect that a character's alignment would be locked and they would no longer be able to get tip missions or use hero/villain merits.

Quote:With the exception of "as-is" items purchased on sale, I've found that I can return most anything if I do it soon after the purchase, even with reasons of "I don't like it' or "it's not what I wanted/expected".See, this I agree with. I hold the vendor responsible for keeping promises made in advertising and during the purchasing process. If you bought something and it's not what you were promised, then you were swindled out of your money because the vendor either lied or screwed up. This is when a customer rightly deserves a refund because what he got isn't what he ordered.
I draw the line, however, on refunds for perfectly functional, advertisement-accurate items delivered undamaged. If the customer got what he ordered, then the vendor has lived up to his responsibility. If the person changes his mind, then that's no longer the vendor's fault and, as such, no longer the vendor's direct responsibility to deal with.
I don't see a problem with getting points refunded for in-game purchases, within a reasonable time frame. Three days seems fair to me. Keep in mind, this is a points refund, not a cash refund. NCSoft will still have the buyer's money. -
Love it! Thanks for putting in the work to make it a great program.

I wanted to see the chaos, but haven't seen anything out of the ordinary in AP on Exalted.

This is fixed as of the 9/27/2011 patch.

Quote:I've always viewed it as an excuse not to enforce the rules. Why not make forums for other catagories that are against the forum rules; Other Video Game Discussion Forum, Trolling Forum, /jranger Forum, etc?It keeps them out of the rest of the forum, much like the old pwnz section. It's going to happen whether Paragon Studios wants it to or not, keeping the post padding in one location makes everything easier.
Removing it would likely make the forums more cluttered, not less.
I don't view Forum Games, but if I were trying to consolidate the boards, that would be one of the first things I'd get rid of. -
Eliminate these from News, Events & Announcements:
- Supergroup & Villaingroup Recruitment
- Player Events
Eliminate these from Player Help:- Badges and Gladiators
- Base Construction
- Mac Users
Leave Archetypes & Powers forums as-is. Their current structure is very straightforward and easy to grok.
Merge these forums into one PVP forum:- PvP Questions, Guides & Builds
- PvP Zones/PvP Arena
Eliminate these from For Fun!:- The European Lounge
- Oceanic Lounge
Merge these from For Fun!:- Screenshots & Fan creations
- Multi-Media City of Heroes and Villains
Eliminate this from For Fun!:- Forum Games

Quote:Heya Curveball.Ok, dumb question time...
I have an account from the original beta (3rd wave) sitting in my master account that is inactive. At the time I was rather confused and thought I wouldn't be able to activate it for the main game, so I went and created a new one. It's been setting there inactive ever since.
Is that going to be activated? Because it doesn't need to be. It's pretty much useless. All my stuff is in this one.
Would it be deleted? That might be problematic for other reasons.
I don't think you were confused, sometime before launch us beta folks were advised to make new accounts for a reason that I don't recall. I did it too, leaving my old beta account inactive but under the same master account. Eventually, I activated it for a couple of years. Friday, it became a premium account and it works just fine. -

With only the karma enhancement purchased from the Paragon Market:
- Knockback Protection 0
With the IO recipe drop that I crafted:
- Knockback Protection 4
I removed the crafted IO again Wednesday and checked combat attributes. Still zero points of knockback protection from the Paragon Market enhancement. -
Quote:Same here. I just tried my original CoH account from beta. It was active for about two years after launch. Account page says "free" and "playable" as well, but cannot log in. It's nice to see I'm not the only one.I have a really really really old unplayed (since launch) game account on my Master account page along with my normal game account I've played since launch. It shows as being a Free account. It shows as being Playable. However, when trying to log in with the account it will only allow me to go to the account page to upgrade to VIP. It won't let me in.
Once that account becomes Premium, it will be my wife's account. Maybe this time she'll play for more than a week. -
Still not getting knockback protection from this enhancement. I don't see it on the known issues list.

Skippy is tearing it up with Matthew Stafford at QB.
Go Lions! -
The devs have said all along that these will be three-mission arcs with different content for heroes and villains. I've been away from home and haven't had a chance to play them, but they are supposed to have pretty nice rewards. Also, we will get new arcs each month instead of having to wait three to four months for a new issue.
I don't see anything to complain about. -

Quote:Here's how I see it...Men of the CoH community, if you and your lady vested years of play time into the game and you break up leaving the characters they both make, do you delete all or does one just claim their characters and rename them?
Ruling?
Keep characters that were mostly identified as "yours"; your concepts, primarily played by you, people assumed you were at the controls when they saw that character in the game, etc.
Delete characters that don't fit into that category.
I think it should be considered fair to remove any valuable enhancements from those characters before deleting them. -
I was in a league and did not get the badge the first time we defeated the seed. Members of the other team In the league did get it. Later, I was on a team, not in a league, that defeated the seed. We all got the badge.

I was wondering why I couldn't access /ah in a mission the other day. This explains it.

Been here since day one of the website and forums. Still loving it.
And I do remember Canadian Shield.
One person I remember from the old days, but don't recall ever seeing post-launch is Yankee Daring. Anyone know what happened to him? -
Quote:For a very long time CoH's endgame was to create a new character. Basically, there was no endgame content. Over the past few years, crafting and the incarnate trials were added.Alrighty, I'm new and I'm hanging around CoH a heck of a lot lately.
One thing I've noticed is that there's only 50 character levels, for an MMO that's 7 years old that's.... not very much
So, considering the max level is so low, what's the end game content like and how long will it keep you busy for? As it's one area almost every past MMORPG I have played has let me down in.
Crafting is not as extensive as what you'll find in other games, but there are some crafting rewards that take a bit of effort to achieve. Playing the market and even creating enhancements for your other characters can be entertaining, if you like that kind of thing.
Incarnate trials were added within the past year and are similar to raids that other games have. They offer a form of alternate advancement. Your character can get new powers and become much more powerful by gathering items that only drop during these trials.
PvP is not very popular at this time. It used to have a very vocal group of players, but PvP nerfs a few years ago caused enthusiasm to wane.
Personally, I do crafting, incarnate trials, collect badges and take part in supergroup events. The sg I belong to holds a lot of costume contests. I also occasionally crank up mission difficulty and "farm" for rare recipe drops. I can turn these recipes into enhancements, give them away or sell them for hundreds of millions of influence. I also usually have one or two project alts that I'm working on. These tend to be power sets or ATs that I have not played much in the past.
I've been playing this game since the start of beta testing back in 2003 and find that there's plenty to do. I hope you find enough to keep your interest!
