  1. Hey Folks,
    Out of curiosity, what is the typical way this is slotted and with which IO sets? It indicates that the DOT is minor. Is it worth slotting with a damage type IO set? I was thinking maybe Enfeebled Operation with the slashing / lethal defense and the small recharge bonus for my SS/ELA brute. If I go that route, am I giving up a lot of damage? Any guidance is appreciated. Thanks.

  3. Hi Folks,
    I've run into a really odd bug on one of my toons. When trying to upgrade a specific Single Origin enhancement, it will not let me. It allows me to go into the combination screen and the enhancement that needs the upgrade does 'light up' but I'm not allowed to click on it. I am also able to delete that specific enhancement and replace it but still have the same issue with the replacement. Thus far it is only with one specific toon but now it is two slots. A couple of things (coincidental or not), it is the 6th and final slot in both instances. I did not level up immediately when I chose the slots. Upon leveling up, it allows me access to that slot to upgrade it (I believe this to be the case as it allowed me to click on it but thereafter not again). I am on the new updater also so I can't figure out how to run a 'verify' of the files. Has anyone ever seen or heard this? I did /bug it but well that's not helping me right now - lol. Thanks.

    Thanks for the replies. I guess the context of the build is that it is a respec of an extremely old toon that I have that needs to be updated. Thus I'm locked into Stone/Stone so I can't do Dark Melee. I'll probably do 2 builds more than likely although I'd love to get by with one as I don't have a ton of resources with this toon (though I can probably get some eventually). I guess "what I want" out of the toon is first to be extremely team friendly. I'm looking more as a 'tank troller' type where I can control the mobs so that the rest of the team can be worried about destroying them without needing to run. Stone melee seemed to be a good choice for that. In addition, I want to be able to tank any AV on any TF also with minimal (or no) help if necessary. So maybe 2 builds are essential. I'd love to see your build Sinister also. The more I can see the better decisions I can make. It has been very helpful looking at Syntax's build and I'm most appreciative to all with their comments. Thanks!!

    Thanks for the reply Rhysem. How would you attack this to get to the magic 32.5% melee defense level? I do not want another toggle as this guy has a lot of toggles already going so I'm not interested in Maneuvers. Or is this level more of a pipe dream and will vastly affect my attacks. I need the Darkness pool for Tenebrous Tentacles to keep mobs from fleeing burn. It also serves as a mild accuracy debuff so it isn't totally useless. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

I realize that I could choose the Reactive Armor for some of the resistance sets but I'm a little concerned about endurance so I went with the Impervium. Any comments? Thanks.

  13. Thanks for this Syntax and sorry for the delayed response. Yeah, no Weave but I alluded to that as this is a pre-I19 build where Stamina wasn't for free. Now I have a number of powers freed up and Weave is definitely one that I'm interested. You mention the decrease in firepower. How does this actually play? Is it something noticeable? Thanks again for the input!
  14. Thanks for the input folks. As for how much I have to spend, I currently have about 40 million. However, I have a bunch of other toons with more influence so I can speand a decent amount. Purples are probably out but most of the Orange recipes are potentially doable. I'm assuming that for my single target Stone attacks I should go Crushing Impact. I did take the Earth Epic for Quicksand (coupled with mud pots seems to work pretty well); Salt Crystals (for the debuff mainly) and will probably take Stalagmites. Although now with basically 4 free powers (get the Fitness chain for free and a Vet Reward allows me to take the main travel power without any required powers in that chain) I'm really trying to figure out what to do with this toon. Once again thanks to all that responded!

    I'm an "old timer" who just returned for the Going Rogue Expansion and I want to dust off my Lvl 50 Earth/Storm Controller. Looking at him and his enhancements/slots, he seems to be a bit of a mess so I need help with IO sets (along with suggestions for Alpha Slot). I don't have access to Mids on this computer but the build is pretty much as follows:

    I'm a recent returnee to the game and I'm looking for critique. I'm going to respec my toon to take advantage of the free Fitness pool. I have a Lvl 50 Spines/Fire Armor Scrapper. I currently have the following (I'm trying to get a solid defense with this toon):

    1)Lunge (6 slotted) 4 Kinetic Combat & 2 Pounding Slugfest
    2). Quills and Spine Burst (6) Sciroccos

    4). Build Up (6) Gaussians

    1). Fire Shield (4) Impervium Armor

    3). Plasma Shield (4) 3 Steadfast Protection and 1 Resistance IO

  20. Thanks for the help Auroxis! What is the verdict on Elec/Elec? Also, what's a good pairing with Electric Melee? From the looks of it, SS/Elec or SM/Elec seem to be solid choices due to the mitigation aspect. I appreciate your help on this!

    I've recently come back to CoH after a lengthy layoff to try out Going Rogue. I currently have a lvl 6 Elec/Elec Brute but I am looking for suggestions for builds. I'll pretty much always be teamed with a Demon Summoning (corrupter I believe). Does anyone have a fun, solid build that I could look at? I'm hearing a lot of 'mehh' things about Elec/Elec for a Brute. Thanks in advance!
