  1. I'm always surprised by longtime villains who don't know that, in the LRSF, Statesman's battlecry "This is for Liberty!" is essentially translated as "you have failed to pull any of us properly, our aggro is now effectively fused and unless you are very lucky you will now either need to rush us or reset the mission because pulling is now no longer on the menu".

  2. "WTF!! THis is impossible, how the hell is it hitting me from this far away!" - (first time fighting the Jade Spider)

"Hey, remember meeeee?!" - (any time when I have been defeated by a final boss/EB/AV, then come charging back with a full tray of inspirs running in my buff bar)

"DIEEEEEEDAMNYOUUUUU!!!" - (during the final moment of a Master Kahn TF run where Reichsman's final 100 HP seemed to last longer than all his other HP)

"I DISAGREE!" - (said very often, any time where I am held by something but have Domination ready to activate)

"Impossibleeee!" - (any time I get killed with 4 Lucks running)
  3. The serious NDA could be due to:

    1) a certain competing game about to arrive, necessitating a need for tighter control on new ideas

    2) the contingency plan if CoH slumps due to (1), where I20 or an issue close to it will be the end of the game, where the Coming Storm arrives in the form of the Preatorian invasion army, switching off all med teleporters, causing a last stand throughout the game where the Devs get to dress up as Preatorians, kill us all off and leave a few celebrated survivors of the game (giving them free lifetime subscriptions to CoH 2! ).

The only other thing that is so awesome as to require a special NDA would be if they released the Nemesis pony as a pet or special NPC.

I like the idea of new player models. Maybe I'll finally get to be a Tarantula Mistress.

Schoolboy error I'm afraid. When you free Faathim in the final mission, the TF "ends" and everyone is awarded its badge.

But that is NOT the real end.

You need to exit the mission, then re-enter the "death star" from the opposite door. Someone on the team talks to Faathim, he offers you the final version of his poem and THEN the TF is truly over. THEN the reward window pops up, people get merits, and the clock stops.

I've been in a Justine TF where a couple of people almost quit the team before I had a chance to make the final trip to Faathim. The TF has always worked like this. People just need to look at the mission window above their map, it says "Speak With Faathim the Kind" after the "last" mission.

Weird that you didn't get the badge. Did you not enter the mission, or enter it far later than other players?
  5. Mobs often run around wildly if you are on a different height level to them. In this case, could it be that Nos was trying to reach his buddy The Centre, but due to the unique composition of the map locking The Centre out of harm's way Nos went crazy as commands to find how to get into the enclosed space drove him haywire?

Mobs often run to higher ground, a corner or some vaguely useful piece of terrain from which they can counter-attack. Maybe Nos really badly wanted to find a way to his boss.

Alternatively, maybe some fleeing waypoint exists on the map that no longer connects with the actual map geometry, causing him to dart about trying to find a way physically out of the map.

I thought Elf remained Mayor by default when he declared himself Emperor.

I wonder if there are Preatorian versions of us who will invade our level 1-20 zones when Issue 19 arrives. An evil Cobalt with a goatee beard and a heroic Twixt who helps everyone relentlessly...
  7. I forgot about Aeon, yeah he is the first point in the STF that people die on. Sometimes even wipe on.
  8. Team Dolly completed the MoLGTF tonight, using the same brute force approach as the MoKTF

I feel really bad that Demo didn't join for the final attempt since he was playing great and helping so much. Hope you will be around for the MoCuda sometime soon!
  9. I'm *still* annoyed about the change to the bobcut ("wedge") hairstyle and *still* want the old version added back in so I can use it on my alts (who all had the old one on at least one costume and now have had to switch to something completely different).

As for this, simply add a "legacy" choice to the *top* menu to each part of the tailor interface. Choosing that option leads to an alphabetical list of all the parts (of the given type) that you have relegated to legacy since they are now replaced. Players can then choose whether they want to use these or not.

As more new and replacement pieces arrive, more old versions are added into "Legacy".

For example, under Tops you get to choose Tights, Tights Sleek, Tops With Skin, etc and then "Legacy". Legacy items are not sorted into types themselves, you just have to sort through the alphabetical list to find things you want.

On a related note, I am kinda amused at Noble's obvious bias. His question is kinda like "hey guys, would you like the shiny super and wise option 1 or the diabolical, senseless and downright insane option 2? Anyone for waaaaacky option 2? No? Good...phew."
  10. I've not failed an STF at the Patrons. I think if a team has any real trouble with them, they may as well drop and try again with different alts/friends since Lord Recluse is an order of magnitude harder.

Unless of course the trouble you had was due to having 8 tanks on the team who could hold off any enemy, but needed to melee GW and so allowed her to heal a lot. In that case, LR might go fine lol.

Master runs should require all team members to pay a deposit to the NCsoft store of $25. Whoever dies loses their deposit and can't make another attempt for one month. Either that, or the badge should be based on whether *you* personally die or not, during the run.

Yeah, I'm fed up with people dying in Master runs for no reason
  11. "You could walk away with the soon-to-be-released Party Pack and one of each of the in-game costume codes"

Oh, so I do win the pack too?

Also it sounds like each winner gets the full set of NPC costume codes form this summary. But pretty sure it's just 1 per winner, and they choose which one they want.

Fortunately my character was a tanker. It's not often that one of my tankers has an opportunity to, you know, do tanker stuff.
In my defence I was in my random and unslotted second build because it has Whirlwind, for lulz. I had nothing to fight back with. Also, I was PMing Avatea at the time asking for which NPC costume I wanted

Now I have to buy the party pack, heh. Or do I get one for free as a prize? Guess I will find out

  14. Issue 19 is the Alpha slot plus a prelude to Incarnate content in Issue 20. It will get the Incarnate story rolling.

Issue 20 is a very serious affair. With two other gargantuan MMOs landing soon, the Devs are probably building a tonne of contingency plans into I20 so that it can either continue as normal from I19, or branch into different directions to counter whatever becomes popular/successful in the upcoming games, or (as a worst case scneario) be the tying up of loose ends so that end-game becomes end-of-game and CoX goes out with a huge bang.

That's how I would plan things, anyway. Bars will be raised, new rivalries will develop, deals may be done. I think the Devs will be watching the skies during I20 development and trying to hold on to the initiative against new competition.
  15. Just in case peeps on Champ missed this quiet announcement from Avatea:

"...we're throwing an in-game costume/dance party on the live servers in Pocket D and we hope you’ll join in on the fun!

A costume party implies that you “dress-up” for the occasion, so show up in your best PARTY costume and be ready to strut your stuff! ...the 3 individuals on each server who most delight us with their exquisite fashionista skills and prove to us what a party animal they are, will be justly rewarded!Okay peeps, now at least 1 person must come with a blank generic costume and state that they are wearing the new costume pieces from the Party Pack. Also, someone should come as an emote.

Would a risque costume be alright? I have something fun planned that I've always wanted to try out... (if not, I'll just start collecting all the different ways I can be disqualified from costume contests, tee hee).
  17. Dude, give it up already. We're not buying this lame-o party pack!

Now, if someone had actually added party COSTUME PIECES to the pack with the emotes, THEN the contest would make more sense. At the moment it's going to be hilarious. I plan to wear a blank generic costume and say I'm using all the party-themed costume pieces that are in the Partly Pack*

    (* spelling deliberate!)
  18. No no no.

What the game needs is clearly a Pirate Run, which emits a damage aura only on those people running Ninja Run. Pirate Run has a drunken stagger animation, leaving a glowing aura trail of rum behind and garbles everything the player says into Pirate Speak.

It should not be possible for players to buy both Ninja Run and Pirate Run.

For balance, Ninja run shuld emit an -Endurance aura on those running Pirate Run within 15 feet, so that on a full team of 4 Ninjas and 4 Pirates the team dies upon entering a mission just from the damage and end drain they exert on eachother.
  19. Use the bug as an exploit to farm PVP IOs faster and it will get fixed in the next 6 hours
  20. The roboteching missles fired by the Malta robots are also creating a huge critical lag-inducing cloud around targets. I know they've always created a dark cloud but now it seems bigger and has a habit of totally blocking everything to the point that you have to zoom out.
  21. My main's theme switches between "The Howling" by Witihn Temptation, "Fly me to the Moon" from Bayonetta and a long 10 minute song by Nightwish that's awesome but I can't remember the name of.

  23. I'd like to help.

Just out of curiosity, why didn't you switch tactics and just pull Ghost Widow herself first, or Black Scorpion?
  24. Haikus are fun:

    U'Kon Grai,
    Target: players all around,
    Shame: bombs already sploded

    Lord Recluse Strike Force,
    Not easy. Statesman mad,
    We pwned Miss Liberty

    Dimensional barrier,
    Sigh
    I want Preatorian badges.

    Dr. Quaterfield Task Force,
    Far too long,
Wake me up when it's over

I missed a critical mission accomplishment badge,
    Ouroboros

    Five random rolls,
    Five Sniper recipes,
    All Sting of the Manticore

    Cimerora walls,
    Great farming,
Until a plus three boss sneaks up behind
  25. Did they have the AT symbol badges, projector pens and glasses this year? If so, I will put a bounty on those items! PM Meh! Want!
