i made one recently and after getting addicted to it have it at 35 allready i just picked up shield charge, but omg it can only get better.


without a doubt if you make anything other than elec/shields you need to take your show off and then kick the wall infront of you as hard as you can.

i know what ya mean, there's literally no sg on the entire server that is quite right for me, so i've been solo/pugging since i came back in janurary.

its always the same, everyone in the sg is lower then me, or realize how many 50s i have and i get ppl asking for handouts which i depise; or there are a bunch of vets that have several 50s or so, but no one is at all interested in pvp or even willing to partake in it. so solo i am prolly until i end up quitting for reals.

first off welcome to the boards.

secondly, if ur planning on mire/eclipse nova forming, then u'll want hasten up as much as possible, this means u'll have eclipse on as much as possible as well, which means you'll be a beast, and in doing that you don't need to overslot the dam resistance in dwarf if the only time u plan on using it is for key times when someone is needed to take an alpha or the tank dies as u could just pop eclipse then dwarf and jump in, as you'll be at resistance caps to everything with i believe 3 targets in range of eclipse..

if your planning on putting luck of the gamblers in then you'll want to aim for a perma hasten/eclipse build and just become a walking death machine, but thats just an idea.

as far as powers u just take because, pick ones that have a purpose behind them ie IO slotting. realistically u have mids so u should make an IO "dream" build to see where you want to possible take this to, that way you know your destination and can work towards getting there.

what they seriously need to post is a job for a PVP Designer, because clearly who they have dabbling on it doesnt know what there doing so they should make a specific job of it for someone who is qualified, ie. is a pvper.

if you want i can get ya $200 bucks off a mac, and then u can join the revolution!

give it a try, if u dont like u can pick a different one.

don't ever do alienware as well they are owned by dell.

seriously the best thing you can really aim for is an imac. they come with boot camp so u can install windows on a partition so he can still run windows based games on the mac natively.

but even if u don't come to your senses and go mac, just for the love of all things alcohol, sweet, spicy, sour and musical do not buy dell. i'd seriously have second thoughts about even receiving a dell as a gift, thinking is there a bomb inside or rat poison boiled into my beer? dell=devil

yea i vote for a 25% damage buff to every single archery power to compensate for it being "lol" lethal damage, and incidentally buff psi-shockwave by 25% damage bonus as well. i'm just saying.

forts are still decent, but corruptors, omg, corruptors.

primaries: ice, fire, sonic, rad (bu-bye softcap)
secondaries: dark (tar-patch -jump, and kills their tohit), rad, kin (double stacked siphon speed!)

corruptors can be pretty powerful, if you can squeeze into your build you'll want phase at lvl 30, so you can finish of your target if they get that silver of hp and pop phase, alternately you can use a hyper phase. the powersets i listed work well solo. but if you have buddies rad and kin work well too, but omg pain is baddass then or stacked cold domination corruptors, sick.

however, 42 beers and 4 college girls. i like those odds.

i have 3 lvl 50 tanks and 3 lvl 5 brutes atm, with more on the way. as from what i've seen/experienced my fav tank sets are:

wp/ss i have a 2.2 billion influence build on this thing, capped hp, and a hella lotta +damage, this thing never dies unless i'm on an itf jump in the middle of 2 groups of traitors and then go make a sandwich.

stone/fire - the thing is also another tank that cannot die, i remember once i got this thing to finally get granite i was tanking +9's just fine, only issue was with lack of xp. takes time to get used to being rooted, so learn a quick tp bind. IO'ing focus on recharge/hp.

ice/dark - omg talk about never, and i mean never getting hit, well a 5% chance to get hit pretty much from lvl 22 on. you'll never run out of endurance, you get 2 heals, chilling embrace is sick. so it will be whiff, brrr, whiff, brrr as u lay into them kick serious [censored].

invuln/axe - this was lvl 50 #2, it was really fun way back i nthe day having capped resistance to everything besides psi/toxic and u'd have pretty close to it on toxic. it used to be fun to herd 400 warwolves andswing an axe in a circle. however all the toggles are fairly end heavy, and axe has mediocre damage later in the game as most mobs have some lethal resistance. mine still has a proc in invincibility that works, if you don't have one in you can't put it in anymore, however i've pretty much retired this guy. on invuln i' suggest slotting for def/rech/end. getting capped defense to melee, having enough recharge for perma dull pain and enough end to run ur toggles would be beast.

realistically and tank can do well if u think of a purpose behind it before rolling it.

pfft i knew that but there's no way i could drink 42 beers in 1 sitting without a trip to the hospital.

im not saying its a bad idea, but u should think of the thematics for it a bit to figure out how to get it to work. i mean hell

a fireball like power volcanic explosion! 80ft range tbaoe, a volcano erupts under the feet of the target causing it and any nearby foes to take moderate fire/smashing damage from the flying lava..

yea im not sure how well it'd work but u just have to figure out how u'd convey blasting ppl with earth, sure the lvl 1 power "throw pebble!"

well the only feasible way earth based attacks would work is if one was on the ground when they were cast, thus eliminating flying blasters for this as a set, and honestly i doubt something like this would go in. when it'd be so much easier to........

but that's just me, i mean they allready have the powersets and it would only require minor tweaking for balance, but those 2 would be nice for proliferation if they decide to do anymore.

as far as earth blast, u'd have to figure out a way to explain blasting chunks of rock and dirt at ppl without alienating ppls ability to use travel powers, because i know quite a few blasters like to hover to avoid melee damage from non flying npcs.

well to be clear u can use any villain you got, i'd just roll up a pirates costume for it to go with the theme of the week.

over 90% of the pvp playerbase has allready quit this game, i don't think if the rest of us stopped pvping for a week the devs would even care, i mean they've basically in an attempt to get non pvper's to try pvp have driven the pvper's from the game thus leaving that 10% of the pvp player base that even knows what the hell their doing in the first place, and i figure the rest are casual gamers maybe going into a zone for say 20 minutes or so getting killed a couple times and then getting turned off by pvp because they don't understand how to do it and not willing to put in the effort to actually enjoy it.

so honestly i don't think holding out on the devs will get their attention, its not like they know what sex is to begin with, they design video games for a living.
