Vista Total Crash
if you want i can get ya $200 bucks off a mac, and then u can join the revolution!
I have no response to that...
Its not going to work well for one reason. Intel(R) G45/G43 Express Chipset is your problem. You dont have a real video card you have video solution. You will need to upgrade the card and ram if you want to get acceptable performance in this game.
Bump and Grind Bane/SoA
Kenja No Ishi Earth/Empathy Controller
Legendary Sannin Ninja/Pain Mastermind
Entoxicated Ninja/PSN Mastermind
Ninja Ryukenden Kat/WP Scrapper
Hellish Thoughts Fire/PSI Dominator
Thank You Devs for Merits!!!!
Oh, I think he has enough memory, but that Intel thing hasn't got a chance.
I wouldn't just go out and buy a video card. Some cards require a lot of power and it's likely this PC doesn't have all that much to spare. It might be better to call Dell up and ask them what can be added to the machine.
(Or just mark it all up to 'easy come easy go' and toss out the game.)
Thanks guys for the useful info. I kind of figured it was my graphics card. It doesn't crash EVERY time I play, so I can see what Dell says and make additions or maybe just live with it. I even played my weather control/electric defender last pm without a crash.
If anyone has other suggestions, please post them!
Got this exact same issue. Here is my thread, though no one responded to it: https://boards.cityofheroes.com/showflat...=5#Post13564902
I'm thinking this is a CoH issue with Vista 64. Fallout 3 and Sims 3 are on this computer and both run beautifully for some epic playsessions (ie... 6 hours plus ). CoH runs awesome on this computer too, which makes the black screen/sound loop crash so frustrating. One time I was able to get a blue screen to show up and it gave nvlddmkm.sys as the culprit.
CoX is a very hard game on the graphics cards for all computers. This is almost certainly due to the onboard video solution. Im willing to be if you scalled back the graphics to totaly ugly levels you would be able to run no problem in most instances.
The issue of course is when you do anything intensive such as multi man/woman/animal teams, wentworths/blackmarket or the AE buildings you may get a crash or major slowdown. If playing games is something you wish to do then upgrading both the powersupply and graphics card is very advisable.
I have a new Vista computer. It was not bought with games in mind, but CoH was a present.
I get irregular total computer crashes. The screen freezes, sound goes into a loop and then black screen. Not even an error message. Seems graphics related, but last time, wasn't really doing much. Any ideas?
