Quote:YES! The slash command worked!! Thanks!!!I went and checked on the wiki: http://wiki.cohtitan.com/wiki/Titles
I found this sentence buried in there:
Once your character is level 15, the title can be changed at any time with the command, /title_change. Trainers give the character a chance to chose or change their title at levels 15, 25, 35, 45, and 50.
So although the title can be changed anytime, it can't be done through the trainer except at certain levels?
In any event, give the slash command there a try.
@Eric Nelson, Yeah, its the weirdest thing, all my other characters (and I have a LOT of them, lol) can do it at any time, but for these two specific ones, the option is *just not there*.
At any rate, the slash command was the key and Im *so relieved*, thanks a ton!! -
Well I went and got a level, and it didnt help. Being level 30, Im beyond the threshholds to force the issue. Both of the characters its happened to were server transfers, I wonder if that has anything to do with it, because now that I think of it, Ive done changes with other chars and didnt have trouble.
Oh well, sent in the petition and will see what comes of it. Thanks for the replies! -
Yeah that makes sense but what I’m saying is that I’m not able to choose new ones. Do you guys know for sure if you can later?
-
Been doing some faction changing lately (the long way), mostly villain -> hero, and when I get there, I have no titles. Okay, no biggie, dont want the good guys running around with The Sinister above their heads, I get it. But the trainers wont allow a change either? And I just trained up a level and even after training they wont allow it?
Now, I got the level during the final morality mission, so I havent done any full dinging hero-side yet. Will titles be available afterwards, or am I title-less for the remainder of my career? -
Anybody noticed a sudden change in ally AI? My allies are now fleeing at the first hit or two. Its really annoying. Their health is just fine, and they dont have aggro, but in an AoE or something, they go running and I lose em.
Or is it just me? -

Have posted very little about this, but each time I have, I’ve stated that it’s perfectly understandable. Nevertheless, compared to other MMOs I play and have played, it feels like too much. This is not a court, it is not covered in the EULA, I am not demanding anything from anybody. Just saying it feels like too much downtime. Compile the data, and see how much downtime there’s been recently. It’s a lot. That’s all I’m saying.
-
Yeah its all the power graphics and just in Atlas. Even in Atlas 2 things are normal.
-
Of course its subjective. My entire point was aimed at what is reasonable and what is acceptable and expected in the current MMO climate. But even courts make judgements on subjectives like accepted practices all the time.
I AM NOT venturing into legal realms, only pointing out that my subjective this amount of downtime exceeds an acceptable amount opinion is not without merit. Again, even though it is perfectly understandable, given the circumstances, as a player, I FEEL this recent frequent downtime is in excess of what is reasonable. -
In spite of a fair amount of over-reaction and under-reaction, in a modern MMO climate, we have a fair expectation of a certain amount of downtimenot no downtimebut a certain amount.
And while reasonable and rational-thinking people can understand the changes involved with the big release and rollout of Freedom and all the new players, the point of view of a modern MMO player (myself included) has, again, a reasonable expectation of a certain amount of downtime.
The amount of downtime weve experienced recently exceeds this amount. -
-
Well you certainly dont need all caps and ?!?!?!!??!!? thats for sure. And its true, servers down more than up isnt going to help.
Nevertheless, in a reasonable assessment, there has been what I would term an excessive amount of downtime of late. -
Quote:Trying to think of a clever way to echo this without just adding an addition sign and a numeral one. Be that as it may, Aggelakis and I are of a similar mind on this.Even I'm starting to get tired of all the maintenance without any real redname acknowledgment. (Zwill saying, essentially, "Maintenance happens" [highly paraphrased] doesn't count.) I certainly wouldn't be averse to getting a day or two compensation. (Yes, I know, they don't have to. I'm not saying they have to. I'm saying they would be nice to.) Even though I'm from the US, I frequently play at odd times and this interrupts me more often than not. It's unfortunately to be expected occasionally, but half of the last two weeks has seen maintenance during my normal morning play window.

Yeah I’m someone known in my circle for extraordinary patience and longsuffering. Been through stuff like this in MMOs more times than I can count, but patience has limits. And although under most circumstances would take all this with a grain of salt, after this 2nd day in a row following the multiple downtimes recently, even I am finding myself getting frustrated.

You could also set for a massive battle to spawn after your glowie, which could potentially fill the map with lots of baddies fighting you and each other.
-
I believe you can have a clue after the objective (e.g., kill all), as well as a separate one after the mission as a whole.
-
Quote:It does not. However, make sure you populate the group with bosses and minions as well as LT, or take a SERIOUS hit to exp.Do you know if using a custom group like that would create the same large memory cost?
One alternative to having a Headman as a boss is to have a (very) short “kill all Lost” mission, and add a Clue at the end saying “one of the Headmen you defeated told you this…”
I seriously don’t know how you get around not having aberrants in a mission that has all categories (minion/LT/boss) filled, though. Maybe stick in a boss from some other group in the level range you’re going for. Maybe they’re collaborating with the Lost, or overseeing a specific operation or something? You could also create a “boss” type mob to appear in the groups, and call them whatever you wanted. -
Noticed this as well (Cap on Pinnacle). It sucks.

Check your objectives. Not all the maps support all the objectives—or in the numbers you may have them. I just dealt with this recently that some of the outdoor maps didn’t support all the things I had in the mission, so that narrowed the choices down quite a bit.
If the Publish button is grey, then something is generating an error, even if there are no errors called out. Try making a mission with one simple objective clearly listed in the map’s allowed objectives. If that mission doesn’t allow publishing, then try with different enemies. Sounds like there is some kind of conflict somewhere.
Sorry can’t be more specific without analyzing the whole of your mission settings. -
Almost like someone giving you pie then yelling at them cause it hasnt got the favorite crust that you like. Theyre working on the crust but hey free pie!
-
You could always give success the illusion of defeat.
Write the text so that it looks like you want one thing to happen, and no matter what, the text says they failed.
For instance, have it so they MUST secure something in a safe (simple clicky). Set the safe in the back, set a boss up front, the whole time the boss is getting beat down he talks about how it’s awesome that the player is wasting all their time on him/her while their operative is at the safe now. The player gets to the safe, clicks on it…and the text says it’s “empty.”
Also, you can have the mission “fail” even if it succeeds. The player does all they are supposed to do, but the contact told them it was all for naught, because X got away, or the files they downloaded had been corrupted, etc. Heck, he could yell at them for getting the wrong files. You could even suggest it while they’re downloading the files, by having the click message be that the files are a mess and that you hope you’re getting the files X needs, and couple that with a fairly long download time (10-20 secs maybe?). Then you get back and he’s like, “What is this garbage? FAIL”
If you have a mission that actually can be failed easily (timer on defeat all mobs, etc.) then you have your mission fail text say what you want, but you can have the mission success make it sound like they failed in some way also.
Hope that helps or at least gives you some ideas. -
Quote:These would all be very welcome, especially the random one. I wish there was a way to click a random arc button and have one pop up for you. This might help people discover some hidden gems.* bookmarks, so I can easily find favorite missions
* Ability to share my list of favorites, possibly along with my comments on those favorites.
* "people who liked this also liked..." feature
* the initial list of missions should always be random
* it should be easier to find missions which are truly level appropriate
And by people, I mean me and people like me. And by hidden gems, I mean my arcs and arcs like my arcs. -
While not a perfect solution, you can set it so your allies are in the Front portion of the map (assuming its not an outdoor map, which has no Front per se), and you can rig it so that no one is guarding them. Take care though how you set their AI, as in my experiments with this, by the time I got to them, they were already fighting, and sometimes already dead
-
Ah okay. I was hoping to make a Random boss from my mix-n-match custom group, but it doesnt look like thats possible. Thanks!
