Quote:Kind of like when the arbiter drones(or police drones) zap enemies?A thing I would like to see with Disintegrate, in the Beam Rifle power, is when we successfully kill an enemy with Disintegrate is that they simply fade away. I see where that can be an issue for self rezzing nitwits like Freakshow - but it would be nice to see
/end suggestion fantasy
That would be quite awesome.
Edit: Also for the rezzer thing, maybe after they are disintegrated it stops them from rezzing? probably impossible to do, but was just a thought. -

I'm looking forward to your feedback. I think a good part of the "villain experience" that could be added to this game would be the ability to define an ultimate goal for your villain that would essentially fall into the category of "Conquer the World" "Destroy the World" and possible "Fix the world at too great a price". You would be able to work toward this goal throughout levelling, and ultimately be rewarded with the ability to create a alternate world reachable through Portal Co that was to some extent personalized (via AE tech).
Of course having 'won' to some extent doesn't mean your villain would not continue to wreak havoc in Paragon, Praetoria and the Isles...
...what do you think?
Sounds pretty cool! I only play redside (I couldn't be paid any amount of money to even TOUCH blueside *gag*) having more things like the villainous tip/morality missions, not as tips per say. But as arcs, Like that make overdrive your lackey mission that *possibly* could have been turned into a neat story arc IMO.
Really though all i want... Is more heroes to beat up, nothing makes me feel more of a Bad*** Villain than laughing at the hero while i beat him and cast him aside like a dirty used napkin. I must have more of that! It seems the only place to get my hero beating fix is in mayhem and the defeat sea witch mission in sharkhead. How about a system where the more bad you are you get random heroes trying to stop you in your missions? I play villain side i just don't feel very villainous half the time. Unless I'm beating up the good guys :P -
I enjoyed KM/Regen on my scrapper enough to get it to 50, Aside from stalkers i don't like melee AT's but that was a fun build honestly.

Would be cool to get illusion, how cool would it be to have a "Time Control" set? or a "Dark Control" one. No idea how they would work i just think it sounds cool.

Quote:I totally agree with you. Yea, if they did something cool on them.I don't expect compensation.
That said... I sorta think it reflects well on an MMO when they give some compensation, even if it's just a bonus day here and there. Or maybe Paragon Points.
But realistically, and this is not so fantastic example and not personal to anyone here at all but it will get the point across, would you rather reward the nice child? rather than the one that's throwing a fit and a tantrum with candy?
It only takes a few to ruin it for the majority (And i have been in that situation many a time :/ ), not saying that is the case here but who knows? I don't. -
More downtime tomorrow.. I'm not sure why but that news made me laugh pretty hard. Guess I'll have to play something else :P
Edit: Also to all of you who expect compensation, get a grip. who's to say that they may or may not have planned on something or nothing at all. But keep the tears comming im enjoying this thread way too much -
Quote:somebody say doom? :PI want that badge!
....and with Mereman and me posting on the same thread this is now the thread of DOOOOOM!!
<looks mysterious....but still bald emote>
Also with the servers being moved and all, I'm definitely under the assumption it will take a bit longer.
I played a third person shooter (which was shut down my MGM earlier this year) where they had to physically move the servers even the ones the forums were on. And was down for at least a whole day if I'm remembering correctly. But man.. I'd be lying if i said i wasn't i panicking after about 16 hours lol. At least we have the forums right? :P
But the devs have to do what they have to do, I'm one of those people that play for hours when i have the time to anyways. So this does affect me as well, however it would have been mighty cool of them to let us know about this downtime further in advance. -
I solo a good majority of my playtime, so for a team of 1 the spread hardly happens for me. To compensate for this though i stuck the -res proc in cutting beam and acid mortar, so if one target is melting, i use the cone if I'm lucky it procs on the non disintegrating enemies still a win for me since i will still kill them fairly fast. Also does anyone know how close the mobs have to be? or what the radius for spread is? not listed anywhere that i have looked.

Quote:This, My Beam/Traps is almost lvl 29 now and i love itI've been running a Beam/Traps (21 so far), and I'm loving it. The front loaded nature of Traps gives me plenty of time to pew pew, and it's a strong set overall. .
TBH i totally and completely forgot any other secondary existed and could pair it with anything else, but not like I'd want to though. The mez protection from FFG is invaluable
considering there is a lot of mez in the game (I'm looking at you longbow nullifiers) and i only play redside. Nothing more fun than disintegrating a hero at the end of a mayhem mission -
If PvP got changed back to how it used to be, I would totally start doing more of it it again, i really miss grinding mobs in PvP zones but with travel suppression i can't anymore i just.. can't
killing a hero once in a while was always a blast, HOWEVER. with the new changes i cannot compete i just can't stick to any one character long enough to put good sets on them to even BEGIN to compete so i see no point in letting myself be farmed anymore. -
Quote:^This!!! Quite possibly because that is the ONLY color i personally wearThe color black.
Almost every character I have ever made has black on their costume somewhere...
Ive been abusing the retro goggles and gas mask pieces on almost all my new guys i just REALLY like gas masks. Something about it just cries out evil to me..
black/grey black/red black/dark purple black/green i just cant stop using those 4 color schemes even if i wanted to lol -
Quote:Bots were decent, i don't like thugs i don't know why but they just don't do it for me no matter what the combo. Mercs on the other hand... probably one of my favorite things about them is all the bullet casing that literally cover the whole floor after clearing out a room just puts a big ol grin on my face like this --->So, yeah, providing you're ready to put down the inf it's a great set. IMHO and contrary to what the haters say!

Out of all the MM primaries mercs is probably my favorite, although i never got one all the way to 50 (many in the upper 40's tho) i have bad alting problems lol... but i have done every primary for MM. don't let the lethal fool you it's really not that bad especially with the achilles proc in soldiers, assault and tactics and a good secondary.
Mercs IMO are the most fun especially after the 2nd upgrade, all the cones and AoE. don't get me wrong it DOES seem like they don't do too much damage do to the DoT nature of their attacks but it is a near endless stream of DoT, you just watch the hp literally melt away rather than drop off in huge chunks. They are a sustained DPS pet
As far as secondaries go though IMHO Merc/Pain was without a doubt my favorite pairing. The buffs/debuffs/heals coupled with the Achilles proc it was just very enjoyable got him all the way to 45, and i really regret deleting him, it was as survivable if not more so than my Necro/Dark
But Mercs/time should be some awesome sauce i plan on rolling one myself soon as it goes live
Edit: I never did get into sets until recently but i'm positive with those and the damage alpha it will not disappoint. -
I'm not against the maintenance and all, but between this mornings downtime and now. I've gotten maybe an hours playtime in total today lol...
