I. First, let's talk about obtaining the mission and the specifics of the mission itself...
The mission is listed in the "Wiseguy" (30-34) range in the Flashback system, even though it is from a Level 25-30 contact. It is the very last "Arc" in the list, titled "Eliminate Negotiator and Witnesses". I always ran this with just the default settings. Because this is a single Badge Mission and not a true Arc so the settings will not allow you to get any of the Flashback badges.
Once you accept the mission, head to Sharkhead, the mission is always in Sharkhead.
Sidebar: 96 of the 97 times I ran it (Somewhere along the way I defeated 3 Bosses that counted for this badge) it was in the exact same location - a small tugboat in the North East area of Sharkhead Island. The one odd time the mission was still located on a small tugboat, but it was on the opposite side of the Black market, a few hundred yards away. I'm not sure why it was in a different location that one time.
You will be exemplared to level 30, so you will be in no danger of aggro from any of the surrounding mobs. If you zone to Sharkhead via Ouroboros, you will be 475 yards from the mission entrance. If you zone out of a SG base, you will be 0.73 miles away. The mission door is 786 yards from the Base Portal and 237 yards from the Black Market.
The mission is always the Cargo Ship interior mission. You spawn in the mission on a small tugboat that is next to the cargo ship. Ignore everything on the cargo ship and head directly to the door to the cargo ship interior, which will be at the far end of the cargo ship, to the North. Once inside the cargo ship, you can again ignore everything and just head right to the last room at the far Southern end of the ship. The Mission Objective group, the "Wolf Spider Huntsman" and "Underboss" are always located in the last room at the far end of the ship. I used Fly and no stealth and very rarely aggro'd anything unless I was trying to, even though I stayed close to the floor.
You don't really even need to target through the mobs or inspect them because as soon as you get near the Mission Objective group, they will spout off a dialogue. They are the only mobs in the final room that have a dialog so you can just move through the room until you see the dialog, then you'll have your objective. Many times the objective spawns right near the door coming into the last room, this makes it nice because you will see the dialogue pop up as you are coming down the narrow hallway between the last two compartments of the ship. Other times they can spawn in any of the spawn locations between the large cargo containers along the center of the compartment. You do need to be careful though, as it is easy to aggro nearby groups, especially in the center areas. It's not a big problem, you can either defeat the objective then exit the mission, or clear any of the extra aggro'd groups. -
The Untouchable badge is awarded to both Heroes and Villains for "Defeating 100 Family bosses."
Assault Rifle Blasters/Corruptors and Mercenary Masterminds who obtain this badge will also unlock the ability to choose the Tommy Gun in the costume creator. While running an Assault Rifle corruptor I thought I'd like to unlock this...but I could not find any bosses that counted towards this badge. Everyone I defeated counted toward the Gangbuster badge.
The catch is that the Family bosses (Consigliere or Underboss) can not be of the "Marcone" variety. Hero-side this is no problem, as there are NO Marcone family Hero-side. Family are in abundance in Striga Isle and Independence Port. Villain-side this is a problem, since almost all Family that can be found are Marcone.
According to the Wiki Page, there are Non-Marcone Family in the Dock area of Nerva. I swept the southern area of Nerva for about 2 hours one night, and never found one that counted for this badge.
Since my Assault Rifle corruptor was just an alt and not my main badger villain, I passed on this badge. I did however still want to get it on my main badger villain. So, where to find Non-Marcone bosses other than the unfruitful method of repeatedly clean sweeping the Nerva Docks in the hopes that maybe one will spawn? I wanted to be able to progress towards this badge on my own time and not need to round up a full team of 8 to do it, and also see some progress without having to rely completely on random chance for a spawn to maybe occur.
I found an easier way...
The easiest way to get this badge is via the Ourobouros Flashback system. The Agent of Discord badge mission contains a single Non-Marcone Boss to defeat as part of the mission objective. So, all you need to do is complete the Badge mission 100 times! Simple! Well, OK, it could become mind numbingly boring to run the same mission 100 times, and, not really much of a guide if that's all the info I was providing for you, so continue to read and discover some additional hints and suggestions for your journey to becoming an "Untouchable" Villain!
Since my badger villain is an Ice/Thermal corruptor, I would need to be able to do this relying almost exclusivley on my primary set. Why? Because the Thermal set is mainly a team focused buffing set. There are only 3 powers in the set that are not single target, ally-only powers. One is a PBAoE heal, and the other two are the Tier 8 and 9 debuffs. Since I will be malefactored down to level 30 while doing the flashback, the two debuffs would be unavailable to me (They aren't available until 35 and 38). Since I'd be working for this badge using only the heal and my primary attack powers, being a corruptor could mean a challenge against boss level foes. I took advantage of the difficulty settings and put myself on the default setting of Villainous, assuring that as long as I was solo, any bosses in the mission would downgrade to Lt status.
It's a simple mission to complete, all you need to do is defeat the "Negotiators" at the end, which is a group of 2 foes - 1 Arachnos "Wolf Spider Huntsman" and 1 "Underboss" (Our actual target). Defeat them both and the mission completes. So you're probably wondering, why bother defeating them both when all we really want is the Family Boss since we're working for the Untouchable badge, right? Just defeat the Family Boss, exit and reset the mission. Well, yes, technically that would be correct, but, bear with me, you'll see why I defeated both, and why I am ultimately writing this guide. -
I've still not been able to run a Khan TF. I'd like to run it with my badger, an Ice/Ice blaster.
Anyone interested in running this around 5:30PM EST on Tuesday, 8/18?
I'll get my brother to come along too, most likely with his badger, an Empathy Defender. -
Thanks for coming tonight Nivra. And Zamuel. And someone else who's global I can't recall
Also had my bud, my brother and one of his friends along too. It went much smoother than last attempt, once we all got logged in after a couple of crashes.
Once we started, it only took about 25 minutes to complete - inicluding the defeat of all of the Magmite bosses for badge credit. Not only did I get the 7 merits and the influence along the way, but I also got a level 30 Basilisk's Gaze triple recipe for mission complete that I had been planning on searching for for one of my upcoming alts! Extra win for me!
Thanks again, and I hope to run a few more of these in the future for the quick merits. -
Being a total loser, I am replying to myself yet again...
I'm hoping to give this another try on Saturday 7/18 at around 9:00PM-ish EST. Stop by if you are interested.
This time I'll be stocked with a tray full of inspirations for any accidental aggro. -
Failure. Group on the ramp was aggro'd before we all got there = wipe. Regrouped, the tank assembled us right on Koago's head = wipe. Regrouping and "Mission Failed" popped up, guess Wincott got killed. 2 people quit, over.
-
NiVra, we waited for ya, but I guess you got stuck at work, starting now. If it goes well, I'll try to do it again.
-
I recently created a "second build" on my blaster that includes Recall, and Superspeed with a Stealth IO in it by level 14. I did this with the thought of stealthing the Cavern Trial. I'd like to try it and see how well it works. I also have "Assemble the Team" Vet power to collect everyone in the Troll Caves at the cavern door.
If all goes well at work today, I'd like to give this a run at 7:30PM tonight. I'll be near Karsis at this time with "Snuph" forming the team. If I'm not at Karsis by 7:35PM, I won't be making it. I may be able to get my brother to come along, so that leaves 6 maybe 7 spots that need to be filled since it's a full 8 person team to complete.
If it works as I hope, it should take about 20 minutes to complete, with a reward of 7 merits, unless it's been nerfed recently. Also awards the "Transcendant" badge.
The plan is:
I'll stealth through the troll tunnels to the cavern entrance and Assemble the Team. Once inside, I'll stealth and recall everyone to an obelisk. Click together, up the ramp and stomp Koago and friends, claim 7 merits and be on our separate ways.
Anyone interested? -
Thanks for all the input! I'm going to stay away from Radiation Emission this time. I already have a 50 Rad/Dark Defender, a 50 Mind/Rad Controller and a 43 Ice/Rad controller. Not that I don't like Rad, I just want to do something else this time.
I only have 1 TA character, an Ice/TA at level 10 on an alt server that I only play to shuttle around for the Day Job badges so I'd like to try a TA, but I know that the Dark/Dark is very much wanting a Kinetics for the SB, Transference and Fulcrum Shift fun. I was kind of hoping that one of the other guys would go Kin, but I don't mind playing Kin, just what to pair it with, so that's where my possibilities above came from.
[ QUOTE ]
I advise the second scrapper also take Dark Armor, a pair of Oppressive Glooms both running at once will stun bosses.
[/ QUOTE ]
I actually mentioned this to the second scrapper, my brother.
[ QUOTE ]
A kin will help a LOT with their endurance issue in the low levels.
[/ QUOTE ]
Yes, lots of toggles in /Dark
Luckily I still have about 9 levels of Corruptor to get through while I contemplate.
Thanks all! -
Looking for some thoughts. My small regular group is soon going to be starting a new "super team". There are four of us that run our characters only when we can all get online together. We used the level pact for our current set, 3 Corruptors and a Brute. We've just hit 40 and are starting to think about our next group. We decided to go Hero next. So far the other three guys are thinking of creating:
Dark/Dark Scrapper
Dual Blade/?? Scrapper - looking at either Dark, Fiery or Super Reflexes
Plant/Storm Controller
I was thinking of doing a Plant/Kinetic Controller until the third guy said last night that he was going Plant/Storm. I'd like to not do the same Plant primary. No partiular reason, just because. We routinely up our difficulty to Invincible around level 20, and will be IO-ing these characters, though won't be using Purples. We try to do any TFs that we can (Not many Blueside with only 4 of us) and will probably try a Respec trial along the way too, just for the fun of it. I am considering the following, but am open to other suggestions as well, but keep in mind that I plan to play either a Defender to Controller:
Kinetics/Ice Blast Defender
Kinetics/Archery Defender
Kinetics/Sonic Defender
Earth/Kinetics Controller
Gravity/Kinetics Controller
Ice/Kinetics Controller
Trick Arrow/Archery Defender
So, my questions are:
1. If you were going to create the fourth member of the above team, what would you choose?
2. If you were one of the scrappers above, which would you prefer?
3. If you were playing the Plant/Storm controller above, which would you prefer?
4. Why? -

And you made me look up yinz

Lived here all my life, and never said "yinz" until I moved away to college...all my roomies made fun of the way I talked so I started calling them "yinz" just for spite. -

Boy, the 2nd raid in RWZ 2 was something else. I led and the pylons went down just fine once people started paying attention to the Request channel (I think zero people moved when I called out the first pylon... I had to yell in Broadcast a bit to get people moving). But after that, we had a lot of Magi spawning in, and people just wouldn't rez to the hospital as I kept telling them to. We managed to get a bomb for all the teams, beat Ukron or whatever his name is, and get everyone to the middle, just in time.
Still, it felt rough to me maybe because I wasn't on my Tank this time around (I was on a blaster, which is always squishy, especially when SK'd), nor did my team have its own tank. Not sure how many SKs the other teams had, either, but we had a few. I am a tad disgusted with how long people were taking to get to the hospital... and 2 teammates. I had one hanging out at the costume changer DURING the raid, and one teammate, who was also a mentor, quit with five minutes to go.
Oh well. Wish Dirtball had been on to help organize things... it felt more smooth last time.

Sorry to side-jack here...
I hoped to make it, but didn't. I've been gigging a ton lately - had 4 this week alone - and also had a cousin's graduation party yesterday afternoon too. I just couldn't swing it.
I've always run raids on my blaster (Snuph) as well so I know what you're talking about. Here's a couple things that I've found help:
I make sure to mention a couple times in Broadcast while forming up the teams for everyone to make sure they can see the Request channel, it helps. Also, even though I am on my blaster, I always try to make sure I am one of the first to head to each pylon, just to sort of set the lead and get others started following. Even though once I get to the pylon I saty back a bit and wait for someone else to step in and get the aggro, I at least try to head there so people can follow along.
And, mainly I try to find a tank, scrapper, or Brute who is willing to be on my team and take "point man" for me. It makes it easier if I can have a point man on my team. It's easy to keep track of him/her and I try to call out and get everyone else to focus on that location.
I don't worry much about team make up or number of SK's as long as there are at least 16 people around when I start, it almost alwasy goes fine as more and more people arrive by the time the last pylon falls. The only thing that I find is consistently lacking is status protection from FF/Sonic "big bubbles" once we get up on the ship. If we could get 2 of the big bubbles I think it would help immensely, keeping the squishy buffer/debuffer types active.
I still need 3 more bombs on Snuph and then I think I still need 24 more bombs on my villain badger, an Ice/Thermal Corruptor. If, after that I still have a taste for raids, I plan on trying out my namesake, Dirtball, and Earth/FF controller, to lead raids with and see how that goes with the status porotection and large visual clue for people to follow.
Would anyone be interested in trying a raid this coming, holiday weekend? Not sure if I will be around or not, but it's a possibility. -

Just found a mission which has 1 "the don" family boss, which I am now farming through ouboros.
Take out negotiator and witness 30-34 ouboros, or operative kirkland, first mission.

Thanks for the tip. I've been looking for these guys in Nerva for about a week (Probably 7 hours worth of searching and haven't found a single one, they are all Marcone flavored)

Thanks for the invite Grey, it was a great run. I went from 41.9 all the way to 42.7 in just about an hour. I was a bit leery when I noticed I was the only controller (Ice/Rad) on a team with 4 srappers, a PB and Tank, but it went fine.
It was great to get on a full team, it's been a long time since I was able to do that outside of a TF. AE seems to be where all the big teams are -
If I can stay awake that late I will try to come along...what would you prefer:
<ul type="square">[*]Ice/Ice Blaster[*]Dark/Elec Defender[*]Kin/Rad Defender[*]Rad/Dark Defender[*]Earth/FF Controller[*]Mind/Rad Controller
-

Thanks for picking up the slack Dirtball ^.^ Always a pleasure!
[/ QUOTE ]
Glad to do it, just wish I had more time to run more raids...I only have 1 Hero and 1 Villain that are badge hounds, and I still don't have the 25 bomb badge on either of them -
As odd as it may seem, I'd toss Earth/FF in the mix...all of Earth's goodness, combined with the great +Def of FFs REALLY shine on large teams, which more often than not is what you'll be part of if you're running lots of TFs. Force Bolt for positioning at low levels. My namesake, Dirtball, is Earth/FF and people loved him in my old coalition when we would run 8 man teams on invincible...it was routinely 3 tanks, 2 scrappers, an Emp/Rad defender, a blaster and me. I had enough control by myself to handle just about everything, even when one of the tanks would get bored and pull additional spawns to us.
-
I'm running an Ice/Rad, but thought I would chip in my AA slotting...
At 41 I have:
<ul type="square">[*]Malaise Illusions End/Conf and the Proc (Set bonus of 2.5% Recovery)[*]Cacophony End/Conf and the Proc (Set bonus of 1% Recovery)[*]Impeded Swiftness Proc[*]Generic IO Endurance Reduction
I also run Choking Cloud, Assault, Maneuvers and Tactics and am IO'd heavily for +Recovery and +Recharge so the 2 piece bonuses fit right in with my plan. -
[ QUOTE ]
2nd raid in RWZ 2 with Dirtball went pretty well. I got about 400 merits, but the shields went up before I placed our second bomb. I kind of lost track of the clock, so I'm not sure if that was anything weird. It was mostly due to all the other grates being taken.
[/ QUOTE ]
I'm out of shape, haven't been to a raid in like 6 monthsI apologize for having trouble keeping up last night, but my brother who is usually my right hand man wasn't online so I was trying to coordinate 4+ teams myself. Oh well, we still got the shields down, all teams got one bomb planted, and we took down U'Kon so I guess it was a success. I may try to run one after Night Shift's next one in two weeks, not sure at this point. Thanks all for coming along.
-
Try something unusual...if you are running hero-side, try three defenders! It will surprise you. I'd suggest:
Rad/Dark
Kin/Electric
Cold/Ice
This will give great debuffs with the Rad and Cold, as well as great buffs with Speed Boost, Increase Density Cold Shields, and AM, as well as a minor heal from Rad. The /Ice will also add the option of some control with Freeze Ray and Bitter Freez Ray.
I started an 8 person all defender team with my SG mates, but 6 dropped out and left my Rad/Dark and my Brother's Kin/Elec. We proceeded to duo, on invincible, from the late 20s all the way to 50. INCLUDING all of the praetorian AVs. (We did need to use some shivans on a couple of them)
It's amazing what you can do with buffs/debuffs. -
Three things...
1. Yes, it hurts when something like you mention happens, but that is why there are 5 levels of hierarchy in the SG rankings, and the ability to assign permissions accordingly. Be more cautious when promoting people.
2. Please don't use Blue as your font color - it's impossible for people using the Hero "skin" to read.
3. This is the guides section, please post in an appropriate area, like Suggestions/Ideas. -
You can try this:
/bind numpad1 "+ teamselect 1$$powexec_name Aid Other"
And it "should" select the first team mate in your team list when you press 1, then activate Aid Other when you release 1. I have found binds like this to be hit and miss, often requiring multiple presses, and even then still not always working.
Here's a copy of the binds I use on my Kin/Rad Defender:
numpad1 "+ unselect$$teamselect 1"
numpad2 "+ unselect$$teamselect 2"
numpad3 "+ unselect$$teamselect 3"
numpad4 "+ unselect$$teamselect 4"
numpad5 "+ unselect$$teamselect 5"
numpad6 "+ unselect$$teamselect 6"
numpad7 "+ unselect$$teamselect 7"
numpad8 "+ unselect$$teamselect 8"
numpad9 "+ powexec_name Speed Boost$$ bind_load_file c:\KB\IncDens.txt"
Two text files that are loaded are:
IncDens.txt
<font class="small">Code:<hr /><pre>
numpad9 "+ powexec_name Increase Density$$bind_load_file c:\KB\SpBoo.txt"
</pre><hr />
SpBoo.txt
<font class="small">Code:<hr /><pre>
numpad9 "+ powexec_name Speed Boost$$ bind_load_file c:\KB\IncDens.txt"
</pre><hr />
This way I hit the number of the team mate to select them, then hit 9 to apply Speed Boost and Increase Density. I have found this to work extremely well. I now use the same setup with all of my Buffers...Ice/Therm Corruptor, with Fire Shield and Plasma Shield setup on 9, Cauterize on ADD, Forge on MULTIPLY, Thaw on NUMPADENTER, and Warmth on NUMPAD0. Works great, all keys in close proximity.
A FF controller with the "bubbles", and an Empath with the heals, Fortitude and Clear Mind. -
I had a few minutes to mess around with this last night on my Corruptor, so here are the ones I can add or confirm so far:

6 - Air Pirate
7 - Leviathan
11 - Stone Cold
12 - Bone Collector
17 - Agent of Discord
18 - Soul Taker

If you'd like to determine exactly how much Influence it will cost you to outfit your hero, I created an Excel Spreadsheet that lets you enter the Level of enhancement, TO/DO/SO, and then how many of each type of enhancement (Acc, Dam, Etc.) and it will tell you how many total Enhancements and the total cost of Influence.
Download a Zip'd copy of it HERE or click the "Hero Helper" link in my Sig for this as well as some additional files to help your journey through Paragon City.
