Hey all
Seeing as i have a love for Controllers and have an overall of 6 50 trollers i decided to give a guide and a build at the end to one of my favourite, fun and rare/unique combo's.
Just before you look down and see such a long offputing thread and about to click the back button, DONT stay and readwhat else have you got to do there at work all alone at your desk
i've also put quite abit of effort into this so plain meanie comments are just well.. well MEAN!:P
The Ice/Kinetics Controller
Throughout this guide i will give you a step by step explanation of each power on the Ice and Kinentics set and then MY person rating on each power, and also in what different situation it is usefull for.
So where do we start?
Primary set: ICE
lvl 1 Chilblain: An immobilization power that puts your target in an icy trap deals moderate DoT damage (cold) and has a fast recharge. Pretty usless compared to block of ice in my opinion

lvl 1 Block Of Ice: You can freeze a single target in a block of ice. The target is frozen solid, helpless, and cannot be attacked. all affected targets will be slowed and take moderate cold damage
Recharge: Moderate
Damage: Moderate
This is better then chilblain, but will be hardly used in big teams.
Rating:
lvl 2 Frostbite:Immobilizes a group in icey traps, dealing minor cold DoT damage. This is where your first AoE Immob comes in, How ever this power will be no use if u plan on taking ice slick at later level as they wont be falling down while held.. but i always tend to chose this over ice slick.
Damage: Minor DoT
Recharge: Moderate
Rating:(Would have 4, but this power is not always chosen.)
lvl 6 Arctic Air: Looks pretty, and you're surrounded in a fog, you can slot this power with confuse, fear or movement, i like to go for confuse for the easy cheap purple set, that gives a nice +4% recovery and +10 rech. this however deals no damage

lvl 8 Shiver: A nice move that slows movement and recharge of foes, this is a cone power so hits the lets say 3 enemies infront of you, but not to the verry side. a verry good power if you plan on doing PvP, or going up again AV's etc, a nice power over all

lvl12 Ice Slick: A location Knockdown AoE power, causes most foes to well fall obviously :P their movement is also slowed, this power is next to pointless if you have frostbite, but can be essential if you dont!

lvl 18 Flash Freeze: Most people judge this power WAY too quickly, to actually see its full potential, i always pick this power for 2 main reasons:
1) if you're in a fairly large team, and you attack one mob consisting of lets say 12 villains, while another mob is close by and will probably be aggro'd on, then you can use this power so that mob sleeps and takes no notice of you killing th main mob untill attacked
2) Like arctic air easy and cheap purple set that gives a nice +4 recovery and +10% recharge
However if you pick up this power think its the equivilant of flashfire or stalgmites, you're in for a surprise, as the foes put to sleep will wake if attacked.

lvl 26 Glacier:
One of my favourite its like block of ice, only an AoE hold, equivilant to cinders and volcanic gasess in the fire and stone controller sets, if it wasn't for the recharge could be on of the best powers in the seti always have this, even if it is a conflict with ice slick, the slow recharge makes up for it, as you dont have it for every mob
Recharge: Very Long

lvl 32 Jack Frost: Like every controller set, except mind, this is what you've all been waiting for, lets face it teh L33T PETS :P I love jack frost as its powers also have -speed and -recharge on attacked enemies, if slotted correctly then it will produce some pweeety sweet damage, and can make solo'ng no longer painful!
Recharge: Very Long

Thats it for the ice primarys, and theres just a few simply things you should keep in mind:
Try every power out, and every combo out, NO ONE tells you what you will enjoy, and no one can tell you whats better ice slick or the AoE immobs, so try both out untill you find the one that suits you!
Now for the secondary:
Kinetics!
Not only is kinetics a verry team friendly secondary, but its also one of the most popular along with storm summoningyou're almost gauranteed to enjoy dashing around with this set, so let me try and explain to you the basic concept of this set:
Lvl 1 Transfusion: You have to get this power, but i would chose this anyway, its a verry nice, self heal power that can reach +460 well slotted at 50, not only is it team friendly and good for soloing, you'll also quickly find out how usefull it is for its -regen with AV's and PvP! you do however have to be quite close in melee range to get the heal.

Lvl 2 Siphon Power:
I never actually used this power after picking it up, but if you want to avoid getting both chilblain and block of ice you pretty much have to get it, Its a nice +20% Dmg buff to you and teammates with in range, but once you get FS at lvl 38, you'll barly use it.

Repel:
Lolz0rs Ruins the Kinetic set in my honest opinion, its such a lovely set, this power just you know hardley ANYONE i know has EVER had a keen view of this power, and i absolutly hate it :P cas not only does it repel all the foes away from you, while all the team members will get peed off at you, each foe it hits, more of your end is taken off, the only way i can positivly look at this is if you're about to die and must get the mobs of you, you hit this power on, wich in that case is OK!
Recharge: Slow

lvl 10 Siphon Speed:
You'll love this one, with 2 rech IO's and you'll have it stacked at capvery nice + 20% rech to self, and + speed, you'll consitantly use this in PvP to slow the person you're fighting's rech and movement down, its also nice to get quickly around missions without having your end eaten away by Travel Powers also doesn't come off if stunned, so nice all around!

lvl 16 Increased Density:
A nice team friendly power, and most people will love you for this. frees an ally from sleep hold or stun affects and leaves him resistant to these for a while
Recharge: Fast

lvl 20 Speed Boost:
Lurverly Team friendly, helps with their end and speed problems, it's also very team friendly, but is no use for 1 on 1 pvp (i'm saying 1 on 1 because somepeople do team pvp)
However most people get this power at lvl 22 so they don't miss stamina at lvl 20, some people will complain about getting Speed Boost'd but thats a small minority, mostly in cave or small mobility maps.

lvl 28 Inertial Reduction:
The kinetic version of SJ, nice, again i keep using this word, team friendly, most people respec into this at lvl 28,so they dont burn 2 powers to get a travel poweryou pretty much do have it perma non slotted

lvl 35 Transference:
SEXY power :P again TEAM FRIENDLY and you never need to worry about carry'ng an end inspiration with you again, with 3 rech IO's you can get its rech down to 8/9 seconds.
One of my favourite powers in the kin set.

lvl 32 Fulcrum Shift:
Final, and favourited move of the set Have to be in melee range for this power to work, wich is abit meh but anyway a cap at 15 foes, or 12 or 13 foes, i honestly can't remember, but who cares its a +20% for every foe hit DMG buff to you and allys around you for 45 seconds, and a -20% dmg buff to you're foes, this power is a must have in my eyes.

So there you have it, my opinion and experience i've had with the ice and kinetics set, i had on an old accoutn a lvl 50 ice/kin and now on main account a lvl 44 ice/kin, i've got 2 lvl 50 fire/kins so in total i think that add up to 194 lvls of kinetics experience, and 94 lvls of expierence with ice, anyway it took me a while to come up with this guide but i'm just giving all of you my knowledge on this set.
Now i want to post up my Ice/Kins build that i am gonna use, yes its quite similair to one of my fire/kins or to a farmers build, but this isn't necessarily a farming build! its just a build i think i'll enjoy the MOST.

Before anyone says anything about price of build i have already got every single one of the Recipes and turned into enhancments ready to be slotted into Arctic Liq in 6 lvl's time, they're stored across some of my 50's.
I've spent about 1 and a half hours Re-Writing all of this thread, as it has dissapeared from my word document file.
I will now shut up and let you have a turn to say your opinion on this..

I don't think you understood, people asked me ingame and PM on forums for a build I STARTED with liqour, not something i would recomend everyone as a startoff point. -
Lol liqours overall build, before i respeced it to suit his new farm mission(s) was about 650 mill too, but a few purps have been taken out, as my ice/kin is gonna be a new main and needs them

With this build you'll have perma hasten practiced brawler and every power up between 5 secondss,and aid self every 4 seconds
also 23 secs off perma elude

Just to warn you this build will cost kind of alot :P, i'm GUESSING around 650 mill to 700 mill i was purley going for +rech, and with all the force feedback and LoTG in there you're set, but if u do end up doing it, u will have LOADS of fun in Pve and i guess PVP, not that Katana is much good at it, but have a look and tell me what you think
