I just rolled a Fire/Dark the other day and I have to say it's super fun. (I named him Smoke and coloured all his powers grey-ish :3) The combo of smoke + darkest night at lower levels is ammmaazzzinnngg lmao

Little bit about Dekoy is he's that guy that you know is just completely badass-awesome and he knows it. He's a gunslinging immortal who's witty and hates to be a hero but can't help it. Born a villain but really the good guy all at once. Super lazy and tries avoids fighting as much as he can but no one will let him. He uses one gold pistol, and one silver (picture 2). When he fights, it's all about the fun of it, doing crazy fast moves to take out his enemies. -
Who votes Omega slot be the unlocking of a new archetype, huh? Come on. Ranged damage/melee shields, wuddya say? LOL XD
We'll call it the Incarnate Archetype (I know, I'm clever.) IEAT <-- Huh, huh? Like ipod, only 1000x cooler. -
I've rerolled a few times.. And I'll reroll again when/if they bring out the ability to make a Pistols/Regen so I can actually complete my main
I just ask if people can help me level is all if I don't have the heart to do it heh

Since 50 isn't a task to get to anymore, anything after hitting it is just fantastic and this would really give people something do, too and a reason to run missions by themselves other than farming. I know that sometimes, instead of doing the team oriented stuff and when i don't wanna farm I like to just toss on some music and do some storymode, so to speak and get into some content I like. Something to work towards that you don't need to team for like incarnates, you know?
This seems like a solid idea for people who just like to keep to themselves a little, gives them something to work at after the initial levels and if they decide to IO out a toon or something like that. For free players and VIP alike, this is a fantastic thought lol -
After reading a bit in here I have some ideas on this really good thought
1.) It will be increasingly harder, double the time it would take you to level from 1-50 and instead of stopping at a second 50, continues going to a higher numbers depending on what the ideas are for rewards.
2.) Each level rewards you inspirations and all that jazz when you level jut like it does when you are going from 1-50, in addition, each level grants you something different each time, maybe the in between levels grant something small.. But the big numbers like every 10 levels it gives you something big, high level merits, maybe costume pieces would be cool.
3.) Everytime you re-hit level 50 it could grant you a permanent buff, perhaps something like 25% increase to Inf/Prestige gain or a small regen or recovery bonus, nothing huge.
Additionally, if wanted, (I personally like my idea here but some might now, might see it to be overpowered or something lol) each time you gain 50 levels total again, you unlock a slot in your inherent section, each slot will allow you to put any enhancement in it, just sets, unlock your first one when reaching level 50 and one each time you re-reach it.. Maybe instead of just enhancement sets there could be specific ones that give you a small bonus in something, maybe for blasters you have a blasting set that, when fully complete, you gain more damage, maybe the blaster's health raises or they gain 5% def to all, whatever, you know? -
I really like the idea of custom UI's and even some damage counters for personal use, the costume thing I love in theory buut I doubt they would let anyone do it simply because they wont make money
Unless they sell it but then again they might just because they could maybe make people who submit that stuff sign a waver that they are doing it out of their own accord
If that was it that would be sweet as hell, I wants me some damn gun holsters!
A mod I can see already being useful would be an easy to make/use macro maker! Where you have all the macro commands at your fingertips in the mod itself for maybe costume changes, shout outs, target macros.. Stuff like that. -
Thought of an Inherent.. Or some (Just off the top of my head)
1.) Awareness: When taking damage, the Enforcer has a 10% chance to gain a 35% increase to their defenses, resistances and health regeneration for 15 seconds.
2.) Restless: When doing damage with their powers, the Enforcer's abilities have a stacking recharge bonus, different bonus recharge depending on the ability used.
3.) Nimble: The Enforcer has a 10% chance to completely dodge an incoming attack.
4.) Relentless: The Enforcer can focus his sights on an enemy and increase his damage against them by 100% for 15 seconds, recharge time of 300 sec, in addition your attacks have a 10% chance to restore 15 endurance when used.
5.) Battle Ready: When struck in combat, the Enforcer has a 10% chance to regenerate 10% health over 10 seconds

If you need even more tank than that, you can go ranged Brute. I think Mu allows for 3 or 4 ranged attacks in one of its Ancillary Power Pools and many people have made successful ranged Brutes.
We already have a Ranged Buff/Debuff set, actually two (Corrupters & Defenders).
This Archetype is designed to be able to Buff and Debuff in Melee. Melee and Ranged are pretty much the opposite of one another. -

The other thing Devs might do is increase the range of some of the AoE powers like Consume. Especially those powers that have debuffs attached to them or could have Debuffs added to them. Devs might also pay attention to adding some debuffs to the attacks, much like Defender Debuffs are included in most of the Defender Secondaries.
You also have an opportunity for Ranged attacks in the Ancillary. If you like at Brutes I've seen some funny builds that late become Ranged Attacks because they focus on all the ranged attacks in the ancillaries and get enough Recharge to get those attacks up in a chain.
Having ranged attacks would make the Archetype far too similar to both Corrupters and Defenders that already exist. It needs to be squarely and strongly different. -

How about inherit powers, could do something along the lines of dominator if we go tank where, instead of increasing damage/control power, it pops up and you click it to increase health/defense and/or resistance. What do you think?
EDIT: Also, what if you made the ICON black background with a yellow symbol? Or black with a white symbol, I'm just seeing iti n my head as a black kind of background lol -

I thought that would be cool because I've seen lots of games make ranged-tanks and they were pretty well done and not overpowered at all, very fun infact lol I don't know, just spitballing

Love your ideas, dude, amazingly thought out. Mine isn't as thought out, mind you.. But I still think it would be badass!
I'd love to see a Ranged DMG/Melee DEF archetype, now, I know, people whine and say "Whaaa overpowered" but to be honest.. Nah. not really, if you dumbed it down some and made it Corrupter level damage for the ranged (without scourge and bebuffs this isn't much to ask, really) and the melee would be fine with just below if not the same as a scrapper's defenses. Concept-wise I think it would be sweet, I'd get to roll my Dual Pistols/Regen (Thought of before I even knew about Deadpool) for my main..
I think out of all of your ideas I really like the Crusader as a archetype, very good idea haha.
As for my idea.. I think it would work, people have it in their heads that a ranged DMG/Melee DEF archetype would be bad but given that this is CoX and we have VEATS/HEATS.. Most people want to feel heroic without having to substitute their concepts and ideas with something else but not be too overpowered and this wouldn't be overpowered. I find, personally anyway, that the big thing about being a ranged character and doing damage is the fact that blasters have a bunch of attacks and a stacking DMG buff when they do attack.. Not to mention corrupters with their double damage at 35% I believe it was + they debuff..
Creating a ranged character with melee defensive sets would counter balance by putting out okay damage and being able to take some damage as well, maybe even change some of the sets to create more of a Ranged defense heavy kind of thing.. A Ranged-Tank idea, ranged tanks are all the rage now (Personal experience in DCUO and SWTOR heh) A ranged tank used to scare people but if you balance it out.. It can be a hell of a decently rounded archetype. I'd play a ranged-tank for sure lol (FYI, don't hate on me for all this, I'm just giving an unresearched opinion) -

The Tl;dr version is that the VIP server is locked out to everyone while VIP status is disabled. You have to log into the regular Beta server. You won't have VIP recognition until they flip the switch again, so many things will be locked out to you unless you've payed to unlock them. If anything is locked for you that you think shouldn't be, make sure to mention it in the appropriate forums (/bug is one of the things that is disabled when VIP goes down....go figure)

Hey, I was just wondering if anyone else is getting this when they try to sign into beta, it just keeps telling me that there is no public access to the server. I', still subbed, so I don't get it, heh. Anyway, if there is a way to fix this I would love to know

March 17, 2010 I will be hosting a Drunk TF night for St. Patrick's. My day.
This event will form up around 9PM EST, I will be running a team myself and anyone else is welcome to have a good time themselves, I am merely posting what the rules will be and where to kick it off.
THE RULES

TAKE 1 SHOT IF:
- An NPC says your name, this means civilians, enemies, so on.
- You kill an Elite Boss
- You get a kill shot on an object (cysts, so on.)
-You run out of end, this does indeed include nukes and "oh ****" buttons that drain you when they drop.
- You die. At all.
TAKE 2 SHOTS IF:
- You kill an AV/Hero
- You're the first to die on any mission (This does not mean you have to take 3 shots with the last rule for 1 shots, just take 2. Unless you're an alcoholic like me, then take 4.
Also, if you're drinking beer, 3 swigs to 1 shot, 6 to 2.
TF RULES:
Set your TF to BUFFED ENEMIES, that way, everyone will be screwed.

Now, you can obviously drink to your own leisure, but, come on, it's more fun with the drinking game.
The start of this event will begin at Cim for an ITF, I've got a few on my team already, but still have a couple spots open I believe, all are welcome to do this, it's a free-for-all, really, so all I ask is to have a good time and come join the land of stupid fun, because it will most likely kick ***.
