Here is my idea and I think it is a good one.
Make the AE a virtual world. While in the virtual world no xp and no tickets, but you get to create your own character (either start at level 1 mandatory or let the level be variable and allow power selection up to level 50, to be limited by the scenario) that lives in the virtual world. Your virtual character can have powers that you cannot have.
The virtual character can also earn xp and tickets but these are only usable in the virtual world. Out in the "real" world your character does not gain xp or any other benefit of being in the virtual world.
However!!! "Real" world rewards do affect virtual world characters, so any vet rewards they can have.
You can also copy your character to the virtual world as she is and play her there for a few fun missions.
This will make the AE alternate story entertainment instead of a powerlevelers paradise. -
I guess there is no reason to play a Defender anymore since a Controller can do everything a Defender can do plus control.
Controllers are awesome I guess.. unless you liked to play Defenders... -
It is already in the Options screen under Video/Audio but ti only works on the chat selected by the small button and displayed in the chat entry box.
Using the /b (for broadcast) still displays the chat bubble at Black text on white background.
I also want to see border brought back. -
Then maybe I should modify my request to just add "Storage Default" to the Base Permission, maybe under Coalition and Base Leader areas.
Any suggestion to make it easier to run a SG and base are good ideas I think. -

To the bozo...
[/ QUOTE ] Wow, that was quick.

The best way would be to set the default level to whatever level the SG Leader sets for Edit Base; this will ensure that the person who can add a Storage to the base can also use it.
It is a very nice QoL improvement for SG's that makes so much sense.
Simple.. If you can place it... you should be able to use it.
[/ QUOTE ] What about the people that like it as is? I don't see why you can't just change the permissions for the base. You know, using the tools you have now.
[/ QUOTE ]
As indicated the tools are lacking, someone who have permission to edit the base and thereby add storage units but at the same time there is no way (other than changing the hierarchy of permissions) to change the default level of the storage units. So if someone who does not have the rank to use the storage but does have the rank to edit the base creates a storage unit, they cannot use the storage unit.
If the people who can change the permissions are gone for awhile it means that nobody can use the storage units.
This is poor design. My suggestion is to set the default to the Edit Base permission level, if you have the permission to edit the base to add storage units then you have the ability to use the storage units you added. -
[ QUOTE ]
I'm not sure I'm clear on what you're asking, so tell me if I've paraphrased correctly. Presently the rank required to edit a base can be modified by the SG leaders. However, storage items now have individual access permissions, and the default access levels for those items cannot be modified. You would like a code change, so that when a SG leader sets base edit permission to rank N, the default access level for storage items automatically resets to that same rank.
[/ QUOTE ]
Either way works, what I am asking for is a way to either change the default value or have it set to the rank that can Edit the Base.
The best way would be to set the default level to whatever level the SG Leader sets for Edit Base; this will ensure that the person who can add a Storage to the base can also use it.

To the bozo...
The tools are lacking, need better tools.
Sometimes improvements are good... -
I think this would be a good idea except for the automatic part.
Maybe a Macro that checks your Insp and makes the type you want.. something like..
"/macro Blue Convert <red><yellow><orange><purple& gt; TO <blue>"
This would allow us to choose what insp we are willing to lose, as in my case I am willing to lose Damage, Accuracy, Defense and Hardness; but I want to keep my Rez's, BreakFree's, Specials and of course Blues.
Anytime you are running low of them, just click the macro, it is instant and it is not automatic. -
This is for Storage permissions, it is ludicrous that base storage can be created by someone but they cannot use it all because the permission default is higher than their permission level.
If a person can add base storage they should be able to use the base storage they added, by setting the default storage permissions to the Base Edit level then it makes sense that only people who can edit the base can use the storage.
Please do not say to change a character permission level or some other work around, a work around is only a indication that a problem exists, since the character who creates a base storage item cannot use it, it is a collosal waste of time. And to wait for someone with higher permissions or to try to call them on the phone so they can log in and update the permissions is a waste of time.
By setting the permissions to Base Edit level it simple, just [If Storage Permission = True or Base Edit == True then Permission == True]
It is not rocket science, a first year C programmer could do it.
But back to the suggestion, it is a rather simple fix and it would be appreciated immensely by many people who have base permissions set lower than the present default level of Storage Permissions. -
I think this is a awesome idea.

This is a request to allow us to have <color> commands back in our macros.
I understand that they do not want us to be able to use the <> commands in the game but what I am asking for is to allow us to make a macro in the character selection screen and save it to the character then when we enter the game it gets converted and that allowed stuff like "/macro Hi local <color:hotpink> <bgcolor:gold> <border:hotpink> HI!" to work again.
Since you have to exit the game to change your macros it would not be something that could be abused easily and it allows players to make macros that work or modify older macros.
I guess it would work like this:
Log in and select character.
Under the character's picture is a small button called Macros, you select it and it displays all the macros on your character.
You can edit, delete or add new macros just like you can in the game, the only difference is that you can use the <> command to allow independent colors for text and chat boxes.
After you modify your Macros, you enter the game.
Your macros are sitting in your tray in a empty spot.
If you modify the macro in game, you break the macro and it does not support the <> command anymore so you need to exit the game to fix it. -
When we talk using /b (for broadcast) or /local (for local) our chat boxes change to white background and black letters not matter what our options show.
Since we lost the ability to use tags like <white> in our / commands this means that we cannot change these colors unless we select the button for the channel we are speaking in.
This can get tedious if all we want to do is tell a person locally how nice their costume is while still communicating with the team.
What I am asking for is to make all chat (except the unbound F# function keys) automatically display the bubble with the colors selected in the options menu.
This will at least allow /macro commands with local, broadcast or some other channel not set to communicate on display the proper chat bubbles too. -
I don't understand why people don't understand...
Why should there be two powers that do the same thing, but the lower level one is better than the upper level one?
Basically is it a free slot to ignore and get something useful.
But this should not be like this.
I can see what the OP is talking about, the tier 7 is lacking because it is almost the same as the Tier 3.
Then maybe I don't understand... -
Angel Wings
Demon Wings
Sands of Mu/Axe of <something>
Sprint Powers
Trench Coat
Blackwand/Nemisis Staff
Almost everyone of my characters has at least two of these. -
[ QUOTE ]
Why not just craft them and put them in the enhancment storage bin?
[/ QUOTE ]
One of the things my SG/VG does is when a new player or a new character is made if they want wings/boots (Invention costume recipe) we give them the recipe and the salvage to get it.
Since everyone knows everyone personally in my SG/VG we don't worry about theft or such because we see each other every day.
One of our problem is determining who has what recipe. Having a place where we can store recipes would be good for us.
I just figured out what the problem is.. each of our salvage storage has 999 stuff in it. So I guess that is well over 30.
I talked to our SG/VG leader and she is going to set up a "knitting party" where we are going to make Rare Salvage out of most of our old Base Salvage. -
First off I want to apologize.
I just did a Positron and my conceptions were misconceptions.
I thought that the Devs locked the Task Forces to a set value of 8 players, but whet I found out (in a different thread of mine) is that the Devs locked the number of players in the Task Force regardless of if they are in the game or not.
So my request is null and void since that is really all I wanted them to do was to allow the Task Force to scale to the number of players.
I would like to apologize to everyone that I made snide remarks to and to whom I replied in not so nice fashion too.
I would especially like to thank Angel_Red for sharing with me that some of my responses could be considered baiting and maybe even trolling.
On thing I noticed is that most of the channels I tried to join for Task Forces were full, I did not realize a chat channel could get full.
I think Snowlace got what I was really trying to point out about (non-forum) players finding groups but it is true that 98% of the time what is seen in Broadcast is "AE Farm Team LFM; 45+ only" which can cause discouragement to new and even veteran players who want to see other content.
I mentioned that I did a Positron, what I did not mention was that we did it with 5 people. I expected it to be a wipefest; but I went anyways....
Imagine my surprise when 2 Defenders (a Emp and a Kin) and 3 Blasters completed the Positron in about 4.5 hours.
To add to this shock one of the Defenders and 2 of the Blasters were below level 13.
So again I am sorry, I caused some hate and discontent, though some good information was bestowed; it was largely my misconception that caused me to misunderstand how the TF works.
So now I feel there is no reason to lower the requirements for Task Forces unless someone wants to Solo it, which I feel would be their choice so I will support that idea. -

One good idea would be to change the (now useless) Base Salvage storage into Recipe storage.
Thank you.
[/ QUOTE ]
Salvage racks have already been changed to hold Invention Salvage rather than base salvage, albeit with a lower maximum capacity of only 30 instead of the previous 100.
I'd be all for a recipe bin of some sort for bases as well though.
[/ QUOTE ]
Are you sure this is correct? I tried to put Invention Salvage into one of our Base Salvage storage and it declined me and said that I could not store it there.
Of course it still has some Base Salvage in it, this might be the problem. -
I like to "help" people when I see them fighting mobs, but don't help unless it looks like they need it.
I know it is useless to type "Do you need any help?" in Local since if they are fighting for their lives they don't have the time or ability to reply.
Usually my "help" consists of buffing or heals if I can.
I run into many people who fight Tsoo without any BF's or powers to protect against status effects; here Clear Mind or Enhance Morale does wonders.
I would say that almost 90% of the time people thank me; one thing I never do is attack their mobs directly as I want them to defeat their own mobs.
If I am on a Tanker, Brute or Scrapper I would use taunt if they are trying to run away and while the mobs are beating on me, I send a tell to them to finish them off. I do not try to damage them.
Oh and I can honestly say I have never been berated for putting a buff like Fortitude on anyone. -
Oh duh... ok.
I was totally off... -

I seem to remember that somewhere back when the Devs changed TF's so they were always set at 8 people.
[/ QUOTE ]Nope, they never did that, ever.
[/ QUOTE ]
Are you sure?I thought they did it because people were joining with 8 people then logging all but 1 off, they would join the mission run all the way through it to lock in all floors then everyone else would join and the mission was setup for only one person. So the Devs set the mission to always be 8 to prevent this. Maybe I am confused...
-
Apparently it has been a long time since I have done any TF's....
I got into a Positron TF today and we only had 5 people. Now I seem to remember that somewhere back when the Devs changed TF's so they were always set at 8 people.
We completed the Positron with only one wipe and a total of no more than 5 deaths per person (a couple only had one, the wipe); but the strange thing was we completed it with 2 Defenders (Emp/Kin) and 3 Blasters.
I would like to say that no longer feel the same.
I would also like to apologize because I made some comments that were not accurate nor nice. -
I looked and I could not find a post on this so I am asking that much like Enhancements, make SG/VG Recipe storage.
I am in a small SG/VG and even though we play some we find that we never know who has what as far as recipes are concerned.
So I would like to ask that Recipe storage in bases be implemented so it is easier to keep track of recipes in a SG/VG.
One good idea would be to change the (now useless) Base Salvage storage into Recipe storage.
Thank you. -
Most other IO sets are purchasable directly without rolling, I feel that all IO sets should be available since it appears this is the new venue of getting recipes since the majority of people are not doing Task Forces anymore.

I put together a PUG Posi TF on Pinnacle at 10am on tuesday last week...
Your argument is invalid.

Congrats!
Now if only more than just you did so your second statement would be valid itself.
I will quit arguing with you. I made this post to make a suggestion, you disagree.
Your statement about validity oversteps your boundry of disagreement. Instead you make yourself out to have authority which you do not have. This in effect makes your response worthless.
Please keep within your authority and state you disagree, but do not try to invalidate my argument with your worthless trite.
Thank you.
I guess we will just agree to disagree... -
How many new players or even old player know about these channels you refer to?
Are they publicized somewhere in the game?
Most good players never access the Forums so information here is not found by them.
They only find a Task Force when they or someone else advertises for it. It seems that usually these efforts end in frustration and no Task Force because everyone wants to farm the AE.
This request is for the honest, good players who want to experience content and the Task Force story but cannot get a group together or never finds a group forming.
Your distention and comments are welcome though the actual decisions need to be made by the developers who I ask to examine the situtaion on all servers and see if many low level Task Forces are being successfully completed. But also look at who is doing them, if it is the same group of people, they should only count as once, since they are farming the TF and not really doing the TF for content.
