  1. M-B, is there anything you don't have a bind ready for?

Oh, certainly. I'm not much of a Master guy anyway, and if I choose to be, I'd probably respec first.
  3. I would like it, but it's existence would be determined solely by money issues.

Paragon Studios isn't set up to do such things, so they'd have to find some manufacturer to do it under a licensing agreement. Said manufacturer would have to decide whether on not to do it based on how much the agreement costs and how well they think it would sell. It might be tough. We're a popular game, but would there be enough draw from the general public to make it worth it to them?

I think they might be neat, but I'd probably only want to pay $10-20 at the most. But then, I'm not in the "model" demographic.
  4. Um, aren't those a very specific kind of RPer there? Wouldn't want to frighten the hell out of the OP first time in.
  5. I'm just amused that the Midnighter Arc has become "a nuisance and a hassle". Some people must have a lot lower threshold of boredom than I do. I still find it easy and kind of fun.

    Shadow Ravenwolf has one method:

As SPiNE mentioned, adding the '@' symbol doesn't make it go to their global if it's not their global name.

To make sure you are sending your Global Friend Request to the right name, use the following command for getting their global name.

Pretty simple. Let's say Firecracker Kidd is the character you're teaming with that you'd like to add as a global friend. Well let's say that Firecracker Kidd isn't his global name. @Firecracker Kidd will do nothing to add him to your list.

type in "/getglobalname" and it says:

Firecracker Kidd has the global handle: Captain Kiddie

Now that you know the actual global name, you can add "Captain Kiddie" in as your request and then wait for them to log in and accept.

If they accept/decline your friendship, there is no notice to you if you're not logged on when they accept/decline. However, if you are online together, it will say "@Captain Kiddie is now global friends" or "You are not global friends with that player" or some such message in System Chat.
Alternatively, and often easier...if you have their name in your chat anywhere (like, they said something, not someone used their name) just left click on their name, a menu will pop up and one of the choices will be "get Global name".
  7. Shot in the dark...sometimes toolbars interfere weirdly with performance in this game. Shutting those off might help, or might not, but it's something easy to try.

Call Me Awesome has that right:

Accuracy and endurance reduction in your attacks should take priority.
Just to expand on that a little, you take accuracy because missing does zero damage and still uses endurance, and you take end reduction because you do no damage if you have no endurance to attack. It seems a little counter-intuitive at first but you'll probably actually do more damage overall by putting damage as a third priority.

Silver Gale comes up with some CRAZY ideas!:

I know, right? They should make a box that has the game and expansion in it, making it easy for prospective new players to see the cool new stuff.

Then they could do some sort of promotion together with a major games retailer where people who preorder the game/expansion box through that retailer get something cool, maybe even small ingame bonuses.

They should at least make a video series that talks about all the cool stuff they have coming up, and post it on some highly-frequented social network website.

    **snickers**
    Nicely done.

    EvilRyu will be disappointed:

I agree here, its time for them to finally put some heavy advertisment into this game to make it catch more players. We need a trailer during the movie previews or before the movie previews. Commercials on tv would do wonders for this game.
They might, but it's highly doubtful that it's cost effective. To get any decent coverage you can't have A commercial, you have to have a series of them (or the same one run lots and lots and LOTS of times). They'd never get enough people to join to cover that. Those types of things are way WAY expensive and it wouldn't be worth it. If anything, ads should be on gaming and comic book websites and maybe some comic book ads (way cheaper, and focused more on the proper demographics). TV and movie stuff is way beyond what CoX's budget will allow, even with NCSoft ponying up more cash like they have been.

Remember, WoW has so much money they can afford to piss it away like that.
  15. Those are awesome. I never got to see them, but yes please!

Also, I'm starting to wonder if the old thigh highs weren't intentionally melded to the legs to double as thigh high stockings. Not that that means we shouldn't have both.

Invulnerability is a great aggro tank, but really doesn't come into that until you get Invincible at 18, IMHO. It can be tough for some slogging through those lower levels without getting bored soloing or having the enemies getting away from you on teams.

Skydance gives me a Eureka moment:

I mentioned this in the 'All things art' thread, so apologies in advance for repeating this, but given the topic I think it fits better here.

While it is not the case of a lost costume piece, but an alteration to the upper leg area of females with certain costume pieces that I would prefer to get back to their original state.

Female Bottom with Skin: Upper leg reduction
Many issues ago, I believe when the skirt costume were altered/rearranged, the female > bottom with skin > upper legs area were altered (for most pieces, not all), I assume to avoid some clipping issues with skirts. This is fine if you are actually wearing a skirt, however, this 'feature' appeared in the 'bottom with skin' section since then as well.

To show what I mean here is a picture (the green overlay area I added in to show the reduction with certain pieces), it is very easy to see if you switch back and forth between Bikini1 and 2 looking at the character from the side:

I still hope to this day that this hideous (IMO) upper leg reduction you see with Bikini2 and many other bottom with skin pieces gets fixed.
Thank you! Something's always bothered me about the women's legs in this game, but I could never pinpoint it. Now I can.

Lothic may mean a different one than mine:

Yeah this was basically a glitch that got quickly corrected. It only lasted for a week or so IIRC. The texture accidentally got wrapped 90 degrees off-center so the side seams slipped to front and back. But I still have an outfit on one of my alts that never changed this happy mistake so her skirt still looks just like your pic.
I have an I6/I7 character that I hardly ever play that got hit with that, but it didn't go away. A couple of months ago I tried to fix it and it was still sideways. Should I bug that?
  20. I'm...doubting it. I think it would have been announced by now. Plus one of the big things of those is sucking absent players back into the game, and I think they'd rather try and do that with GR.

The Grim Heaper has them too:

Yeah; like how I always run across steel canyon (mostly out of habit) to change a costume on a new character, when I could just head straight to the Vanguard DPO in Atlas.
One of mine is that I MUST actually do all the costume slot/cape/aura missions, even if I could drop or auto-complete them. It gives me a "milestone" feeling about crossing those levels that end in zero.

I started out with the standard Inv/SS and still consider it kind of the "generic" tank, with the others branching off into more "specialty".

I definitely wouldn't recommend anything with damage aura (or just don't take it at low levels) for a new player, because the end problems early on will just suck the fun right out of it. We're fine with it, because we know better days come, but for a newbie, that'd be pretty "ouchy".

No matter what you choose, I'd go to the Wiki and read through what each and every power does once. I made some bad mistakes early on ("Dull Pain? Waste a power on some extra HP? Meh!") because the in-game descriptions sometimes don't match what the power really does (I had no idea DP was a self-heal and the description doesn't mention it).
  23. Sadly, my brain went right to this Abba abomination.

I never liked them, but if you listened to the radio in the '70s, you couldn't avoid them and knew them whether you wanted to or not!
  24. That's the part I don't like. My powers should have nothing to do with them. It's far too "railed" for my tastes. I like them just being powers, like blueside.
  25. Matter of convenience for me. I was running with a decent pug the other day and hit 27 in the middle of it and ignored it until we were done for the day. But then it was immediately off to WW and then the trainer (I like to see what's available before I decide where to put the slots, often doing the inventions before even leveling). If it had been a power, though, I would have gone to the trainer between missions.
