Quote:Hey Claws, remember my old tank's build? The S/L/E/N softcapped thing?I'm working on a Dark Armor/Martial Arts build that hits the positional soft cap and has capped Psi resistance. I know the soft cap is possible with Storm Kick as per the build I cobbled together last night, but the build was not at all endurance friendly. If I can fix the build's end problems we'll be in business I think.
Mostly just running into a slot shortage.
I just redid the build in Mids yesterday, but with Martial Arts.
I still hit the softcap for S/L/E/N and got 10% added to everything else. I added over 150 hitpoints and regenerate about 3 more HP/second. I also got an extra 4 seconds of recharge on Dark Regeneration. I used 2 less Kinetic Combat sets, don't have any powers acting as set mules, and threw Darkest Night in for extra cushion. Oh, and I can stack stuns. And KD in a PBAoE. And I managed to fit Build Up.
The best part of it all? It fits his concept better and makes him look ****ing awesome.
/MA was the best thing to happen to my DA tank. -

Hm. Not quite, but you did remind me about FM Theory, which would be the perfect way to describe controlling pets.

Quote:Well, you can still slot Lysos. And they still buff the accuracy of the Protector Bot, but the -defense portion no longer buffs the Shield like it used to.That was my point, nothing in the Lyso directly affects that particular power of the pet, but the Acc would affect other powers and that's why you could slot it in the pet. Now, what may have happened is the Prot Bot shield was incorrectly set to accept Accuracy enhancement, which would make the Lyso work, and a dev spotted this and "fixed" it, making it no longer able to work on that power.

Quote:Good catch. I know my thought process at the time. I filled in the three SBA enhancements, then the Edict unique and the triple (Because triples are awesome). Then I looked at the power and said to myself, "Well, now I just need more damage." Lo and behold, there it was.Assault Bot has 45.8% accuracy and 97.63% damage post-ED. If you change the Edict of the Master Damage to an Acc/Dmg, that becomes 69.93% acc and 95.46% dmg. So for not a lot of sacrifice to damage output, you could up his accuracy which will help especially for exemping.
I might change that, though. Like I said, good catch. I'll trade 2% damage for 20% accuracy.
Quote:I'm quite sure that each of the pet's powers acts individually when it comes to slotting, and therefore the powers in question (Prot Bots' bubbles and Thugs' Maneuvers), which cannot slot any of the aspects of Lysosomes (Acc/-Def/-Tohit), won't be affected by that HO.
The power itself was coded to not accept -def enhancements to avoid this exploit, but that got overlooked when it came to HOs. Any HO could be slotted in any power so long as it could enhance something, and only later did they realize the unintended consequences of enhancing things not meant to be enhanced (Shield Defense:Active Defense) or things being enhanced in ways they weren't supposed to be enhanced (Protector Bot:Shield).
The Lysos used to work. I had them in my build, and the defense bonus from them was certainly better than level 50 IOs, especially considering that I still got my accuracy. A somewhat recent change prevented this, though, and I've since respecced. -
Well, Dark Armor Sucks, but I still recommend it every day.
My Claws/Dark is the only brute I've manage to stick with.
It's my personal opinion that the PBAoE stun is far better than the fear. It costs almost no endurance and is much more accurate. You don't need to add any slots for it to be a good power. -
Yes.
By the way, Sept, awesome work. -
Quote:What you'll be missing most is the burst damage, particularly burst AoE. Generally, a Nova only needs three AoEs to wipe up a spawn, so consistent DPS is never a factor for consideration.Hm, that's one thing I haven't thought about. So Forms have more dos or survival but Human form allow you to dps and survive?
Quote:In that case, is it possible to play multiple roles like a shapeshifting Kheldian just by being in Human form?
If you are exemplaring to levels below Eclipse, then in my mind a tri-former is hands down the better pick. -
No. If they buy the store version of Going Rogue, it's the same as buying that in the Paragon Market. You should keep that forever.
-
Quote:1.) Consistent DPS - Shapeshifting costs time. Time costs DPS.So what is the main advantage of having Human form over other form in soloing this sort of mission?
2.) More slots - You have more ways to get the defense bonuses you'd need to really skyrocket survivability. -
Quote:I'd agree with that.Disagree with the OP, but have a compromise to suggest.
Allow the IOs to still enhance your powers, but disallow set bonuses.
That way you wouldn't have to respec your character or use a second build in order to play it, but if you want the set bonuses to work you still need to buy the license.
Sound like a reasonable compromise? -
Quote:As Deacon said, Lysos don't work anymore. There's another one that does, but rather than wait for it to be removed as well, I went with what I know will work for the next forever.Wouldn't replacing the 2 level 50 Def IOs in the Protector Bots with Lysosomes be better? 2 SOs of Accuracy, more than 3 SOs of defense, and 2 SOs of ToHit Debuff (I presume the Seeker Drones the Bots summon are enhanceable).
Quote:As to the BU Proc, wouldn't the Explosive Strike proc be better for additional dmg?
Aside from which causes more damage, I wanted the giant +HP bonus as well. -
Quote:Because it simply wasn't a part of the expansion. Incarnates were not tied to the side switching, praetoria's level 1-20 content, or any other feature released with Going Rogue. All that stuff came with i19 and later. Why make the distinction that it is not part of that expansion?
Setting Going Rogue as a prerequisite was a selling feature, but that Incarnate system was not a part of Going Rogue. This is especially as evidenced by the fact that subscribers no longer have to purchase Going Rogue to play the Incarnate content. -

Quote:Battery charger for my phone. What else did you have to buy in order to access something that was not a part of that something that you had to buy in order to access it?
As referenced earlier: Screws for my screwdriver.
Needed to buy property to use grass seed and my lawn mower.
Wouldn't have somewhere to use gas if I didn't have a car.
Wouldn't need a dishwasher if I didn't have dishes.
I had to pay for gym access to get a personal trainer.
Bought a TV so I could watch cable.
Have a computer to surf the internet.
I could go on quite a while. -

EK,
You have to buy a screwdriver to use screws. Most places sell screw drivers and screws separately. Because the screwdriver is a prerequisite, are screws still a part of it?
At the end of the day, Going Rogue didn't come with even the smallest piece of the Incarnate system. -
Quote:I ninja edited the post you quoted and I apologized for jumping into the middle of this.(you missed all this and jumped in as though I was arguing something that I wasn't... which is okay, because that was a large part of my point. This is insistence by other people has greatly been about fighting an argument, rather than simple logic/truth)
I still agree with everyone else that the Incarnate System is not a part of Going Rogue. It's a prerequisite, not a piece.
