    Defense question

    With defense checking against the highest like the example fire sword doing fire, smashing, and melee, does the same go for resistant? Would it check against which ever is the highest or since it's actually multiple types of damage does it check against each damage type to determine the amount of damage the attack will deal?
  2. Been trying to get help on my final build for my SD/SS tank, my previous post I had forgot to mention that I had the cardiac radial boost for the extra resistant and endurance discount. Going to post the build that someone else suggested I might go with. With me forgetting to mention about my alpha I've went with just wondering if I should change a few slots around from my resist powers according to the build or should I consider going for a different alpha? Also wondering if there's a different epic I might should consider going with then energy. I've got it on my current build, but with the recovery I'll have and the endurance reductions is there something that would help me more? (been looking into fire and stone) Just not sure what would work the best. Thanks again for any help and suggestons.

  3. I looked over the suggested build, everything looked good. With that build I have another question, something I forgot to mention in my post that might change things a bit. Atm I'm running the cardiac radial boost with the added resistant and endurance discount. With that would I still need to slot Deflection, True Grit, and Tough for that much resistant, or should I slot it as was suggested in the build and go for a different alpha? Sorry for not posting that in my original post, the build and post was done with little time just to get something out there to help me go by. Thanks again for any and all help!
  4. Ok so I've redone my build I had, gotten rid of the wasted defense I had and tried to get more defense debuff resistance. Did this kinda quick so I'm sure I've forgotten or overlooked something, so any help and/or suggestions one might have will be appreciated, Thanks!

  5. I posted asking "How much Def. is to much?" It's gotten some nice response and helped me understand some things that wasn't aware of. Thanks for all the feedback, got a new build in the works. But now I'm wondering about Resistance Tanks. Does it follow close to the same guide lines as a Defens Tank? Is there going to be such a thing as overkill resistance %, or is it completly different and needs to be build for the most possible? I've got several different tanks, never got into the numbers on them much but now I'm wanting to up my game and see what I've been missing. Thanks again in advnace for any and all info. and suggestions!
  6. I've got a SD/SS tank that I've built for defense. I see alot of people say just go for 45% for soft cap and leave it at that. Here is what I've got, Melee 62%, Ranged 66%, AoE 64% and all other defense is low to mid 30's. My S/L resistance is at 42%. So what I'm wondering did I overkill on my defense? Should I try to work towards something else at the expense of losing some of my defense to get? Also after certain point on defense is anything over that just a waste? Thanks in advance for any thoughts and suggestions you might have!

    SS/Fire Brute?

    I use to see several Fire/SS tanks in PvP, and they seemed to do quiet well. So I was wondering about a SS/Fire Brute, are they good for PvP? Probably what SS/Fire/Stone? what about for incarnate choice? Maybe added dmg, acc. or more resis? Also would there be much difference in a build with these powers for zone and/or arena?
  9. Ok so I use to really enjoy playing my fire/fire tank years ago, been thinking of bringing him out of retirement. Only problem is I haven't kept up with any changes made to those sets since I've stopped playing him. Is there certain bonuses I should strive for? Certain changes that have been made that I'm needing to know about? What epic to go with thinking either fire or energy? I've got builds for both on mid's but for some reason it tells me I'm not allowed to post attachments. If anyone is able and willing, maybe post a build or give me some key points and what to strive for since the release of i19. THANKS!!!
  10. Just wanting to see what is the best toe-to-toe in your face builds for 1 on 1 in arena. Tell me your opinion and why you think so. I've got a buddy that has a SS/Invul. brute that I have yet to see his HP drop below 90%. Other then what you think is the best Fight Clubber, what do you think could defeat my buddies brute with fight club rules?

    Hadn't had a chance to read local man guide yet,Im unable to get on for long periods of time atm. I had a build that I made with fire instead of ice that was done before I started playing my Ill/rad. Was going to post it just to see what others think, but for some reason it won't let me add attachments. Not sure what it isn't letting me, I've added them before, but it saids I can't now.

    I've been working on a build for my ill/rad in hopes of being able to solo AV's with him. I've got several different builds done that gives me perma PA and some nice bonuses. But I was wondering about a few power choices. With me wanting to try and solo AV's do I need spectral terror? Also what about the heal power, should I slot it up just incase if I get some aggro or just carry some respites for emergency? Last thing I was wondering is about the epic power pool. I kinda like the ice set. But I've got several diff. builds where I've choosen diff. powers from that set. First of all is ice even a good choice for fighting AV's? If so what powers from that set should I take? Just was curious if the -spd and -recharge from the set along with the dmg. it does would make the power choice worth it. Thanks for any and all help and info. I know it would be best for me to post a build but I just have to many builds I'm trying to decide between atm, so If I could get some opinions on what you all think then I can choose one or narrow it down to a couple atleast so I can post it/them for critique.   13. Isn't the Sting of Manticore lvl 35+ though? So then I wouldn't have those sets for when I'm in SC. I was working on another build where I focused more on def. and resis. and was getting some good #'s, but in that build I went with leaping, speed, fighting, and leadership so not sure how that would do without the fitness set. That build is still in the works though, but I am able to get alot of +recovery. Just trying different build set up's and suggestions atm to see what looks good (again I don't know much if anything about PvP, so trying different builds might be a waste of time, other then I just have fun seeing what I can come up with)

  15. On certain enhan. does it matter what lvl the enhan is as long as you still have that power it's slotted in when exemped (such as LotG, the +regen, +recovery, etc.)? Also as far as the -KB enhan do they still work if for example, if I'm in SC and and the power they are slotted in I don't have but the enhan itself is 33 or lower?

    I've got on mid's and been working on a psy/dev build. Was told to work for max HP and -KB so that's where I started. Seems that I've got those sets where they need to be and room left to work, what other bonuses should I try for? Is the stun power worth taking for PvP? Also any advice on power pool sets, so far I'm working on fitness, speed, leaping, and leadership. With targeting drone and tactics both figured I shouldn't miss very often, should I consider something else instead maybe medicine or concealment?

Is the stun power that's available later on worth getting for PvP? Also was wondering what else should I try to incorporate into the build as far as set bonuses? Is this a build that I'm going to need to take fitness pool, or should I consider something else. ATM my build has speed/jumping/fitness/ and leadership. Is mid's #'s very accurate when it comes to PvP? Thanks for the help and info. . .
  18. Wanting to try to get into PvP, but I have no idea what's a good build to start off with. I'm wanting a PvP toon on both sides but hero side to start. I don't mind making a new toon if one I have wouldn't work, but here's what I've got to work with in lvl 50's (hero side) atm

    Also, what's the most focused points when building a PvP toon (+dmg, +acc., +regen, +HP, +recovery, Def., Resis)? Can one build be good in SC and RV both? I would prefer one that can withstand punishment, but if there's one that's better to start off with that can't I'm all up for trying it. Been reading some about taunt in PvP, having taunt a + even if you do solo PvP? And what epic sets are good for PvP for different AT's? What's some must have powers aswell hold, stuns, immo.?
