  1. Hi EasyTiger.

I'm up for a respec at some point as well.
  2. Troubleshooter Torqu R-MDA 1 will be on tonight, ready to unquestioningly follow the computers orders, hunt out communists, mutants and trators, and complain about the limitation on the number of hyphens in a character name.
  3. A quick reminder to those who have not yet got microphones.

    GET A MICROPHONE YOU SLACKERS!!!

You are missing out on such gems as:

Kensa's musings on the phenominon of "LOL"
Ree's unconventional pot noodle cookery tips
The DC "Why don't people take their bloody mez protection?" rant.

Also, listening to Kensa and Ree bickering about who should get the last break free is a very fun way to pass time.
  4. Dead Calm

    Kin/Dark?

Accuracy and damage, normally with end and recharge, but neither of those are particularly neccessary for a Kin.

With Kins damage buffs you should be able to go through groups of minions like a chainsaw.
  5. Well done Sprite! I think I teamed with you ages and ages ago as Gold Standard.
  6. I'm up for both, although as always my crazy rockstaresque lifestyle may drag me to the pub at any moment.
  7. Dead Calm

    HAMIDONE!

    Well done all. Tremendous show.
  8. Dead Calm's somewhat unlikely alternative plan:

    Clear Mitoes.

Everyone uses the temp confuse power from the valentines day event just before spawns mitos.

Mitos, being petish (note, this is a fairly hefty assumption on my part), are confused as well.

    Mitoes shoot hami. Hillarity ensues.

    What? It might work.
  9. And another...

    Underground, Overground, Defendering Free,
The Dark Defenders of Paragon City are we.
Making good use of the powers we find,
Things that the everyday controllers leave behind.

    Darkest Niiiiiiight,
We can remember the days when it wasn't an afterthoug,
    With its massive debuff to.
Round up the mobs and reduce their accuracy!

D3s are organized, work as a team.
D3s are tidy and D3s are clean.
    Underground, Overground, Defendering free,
The Dark Defenders of Paragon City are we!

People don't notice us, they never see,
Under their noses a D3 may be.
We defend by night and we defend by day,
Looking for mobs to scare away.

    We're so incredibly, utterly devious
Making the most of our powersets.
    Even Dark Pit and blackhole.
Lay down the debuffs and blasting the mobs untill we are out of blue,
    Is what we do!

    Underground, Overground, Defendering Free,
The Dark Defenders of Paragon City are we.
Making good use of the powers we find,
Things that the everyday controllers leave behind.
  10. If there's something strange in your XP Bar
    Who you gonna call?
    Debtbusters!
If there's something purple and it don't look good
    Who you gonna call?
    Debtbusters!

    I ain't afraid of no debt (x2)

If you're seeing trolls standing on your head
    Who can you call?
    Debtbusters!
An invisible mob has shot you dead
    Oh, who you gonna call?
    Debtbusters!

    I ain't afraid of no debt (x2)

    Who you gonna call?
    Debtbusters!
If you're by your self, we can protect your health
    Just call
    Debtbusters!

I ain't afraid of no debt
I hear it likes the blasters
I ain't afraid of no debt
    Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah

    Who you gonna call?
    debtbusters!
Debt is growing fatter on a dose of Atta,
    You'd better call
    Debtbusters!

    Let me tell you something
    Bustin' makes me feel good

    I ain't afraid of no debt (x2)

Don't get caught alone, oh no
    Debtbusters!
When you enter that mission door
Unless you just want some more
    I think you better call
    Debtbusters!
    Ow!

    Who you gonna call
    Debtbusters!
    {Repeat to fade}
  11. The changes I'd make:

    Things I wouldn't bother with:
Torrent - Knockback doesn't work hugely well with Dark Miasma. Not a bad power, just not a lot of synergy.
Dark Pit - Horrible accuracy, low magnitude, totally overshadowed in every way by fearsome stare.
Life Drain - The only reason I can think of for someone to take this power is that their secondary doesn't have a self heal. Dark Miasma has Twilight Grasp, which is spiffy, so don't bother with life drain.
Black Hole - 15 unenhanceable seconds of not being able to hit your enemies. Probability suggests that of the 220k players of CoX worldwide one of them likes Black Hole. I have yet to meet this person.

    Things I would bother with:
Darkest Night - Currently it is a fantastic debuff. Even after the upcoming tohit debuff nerf, it will still be a good power. Take it, slot it, love it.
Petrifying Gaze - A useful power. Not as great as it was in I4 by a long shot, but still useful.
Recall Friend - Useful for both stacking up bodies for mass rezzes and also fluffy wrangling. By no means essential though.

Stuff that I would move as early as possible:
Fearsome Stare - Because it rocks.

    Elec/Elec

    [ QUOTE ]
I'll be waiting to beat up on elec / whatever / elec brutes, anytime.

    Elec/elec blasters. PWN j00.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Even though this will be taking place in I7, about which _Castle_ has said:

    [ QUOTE ]
Detoggling isn't going away. But, it is being reigned in by a large margin.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Oh yes. There will be SMASH!
  13. Dead Calm

    Why a Defender?

    [ QUOTE ]
Any thoughts on that? I'm really thinking of powers to 22 at the moment. I'm not planning on taking stamina, as that seems rather selfish, and on a good team I should be able to pop blues constantly if I run low, plus I should only need endurance every 3.5 minutes or so.

    [/ QUOTE ]

From what I've heard about FF, end gets very tight in later levels with mutliple toggles running, especially with leadership as well - note, this is not from personal experience (I've only played a /FF 'troller up to 14 before deciding that it was not at all suited to my play style).
  14. Dead Calm

    Why a Defender?

You have a FF/en and don't like knockback? You have two basic options:

    1) Delete him.

    2) Learn to like knockback.

Given the rest of your post, I'd recomend one of the more active, less buffbotish defenders. Dark, Rad, Kin, Storm (well prehaps not Storm given the KB) TA and possibly even Emp may be more what you are looking for, as they all require more constant use of their primary, rather than a bit of buffing every four minutes, and the effect they have is somewhat more obvious.

Respecing out your blasts will only make it worse. A FFer with no blasts and no KB powers from FF may as well only show up for 20 seconds every four minutes and then stick themselves on follow.

As for defender only powersets, if we are including CoV, then it is only Psi Blast. If we are talking CoH only, add Dark Miasma, Dark Blast and Rad Blast to that list.
  15. Indeed. Kensa was very precient when he said we always end up waiting for latecomers. Whoever they may be.

I'll be at the Hami Raid early Sunday night and watching Jack Bauer shoot people in the leg and saying "DAMNIT!" later on, so won't be able to make it I'm afraid. Could do during the day though.
  16. I'd say that went pretty well.

Well if you ignore the first bit of the longbow mission.

Oh, and the "watch your pull on this one DC, there's four subs" followed by the worst pull in the entire trial on my part.

But aside from those hiccups, swimmingly. Good job all.
  17. I rather like the real time aspect. It means that while one person makes the changes the rest can make helpful suggestions/mock/bicker.
  18. I designed a disorient focused D3 build a while back while faffing about with heroplanner, which iirc was fairly similar to yours, but I've never got around to testing it out so I'd be interested to find out how it goes.

I agree with Psygon on the slotting of your ancillery powers (though I'd go with 1xAcc, 3xrecharge in Soul Drain). Also, I don't think oppressive gloom needs end reduction, as it's end cost is tiny. The health cost shouldn't be a problem either, health should cancel it out. Having said that, I've only ever used OG on test, so could be wrong.

    DDD combos

I witter on at frankly excessive length about various opening techniques I use here.
  20. I've been fine as a rad/kin non-stamina (less toggles though) build in Sirens. If anything the hit+run style of PvP is more suited to staminaless builds than PvE.

    Quantum flight

I find Quantum Fly very useful for taking down voids.

Spot void, QF next to him, hit build up, wait for him to attack, de-QF, whack him upside the head with IS, finish him off.
