The Freedom Phalanx Reserve recently upgraded from a 16x20 plot to a 20x20 plot so I scrapped the old base and did a total rebuild. Im still working on adding details here and there (Like adding something to the endless expanse of hallways) but for the most part its done.
Heres an overview shot of the layout and then a slideshow of the rooms themselves.

I'm going to make a special request of everyone on these forums to only post once in this thread. Ignore all baiting, arguments, opinions....
Could everyone just state once and once only with a 'yes', 'maybe' (maybe means you would play it regularly if it was changed to something like instanced invite-only zone-sized maps), or a 'no' to the simple question:
Do you like PvP?
Ranting diatribes are unnecessary. All I'm trying to see is that if the 'majority' of people that are always claimed to hate PvP really ARE the majority and to what degree they are the majority.
I start the proceedings with:
Maybe

No! I can count the hours I've spent PvP'ing on one hand and still have fingers left. -
First as far as pulling the AV's when I did it today we had one blaster with snip 6 sloted with range HO's so he was able to pull nicely.
But with out that what we did once just to try it was to Tele-snip, that is have a blaster at the very max of his range start to snip and then have someone teleport him away just after he fires off his snip.
We did this while everyone was waiting back at the ship, we were able to pull just one AV at a time and none of the others fallowed after. Also on the plus side if you at the ship the Npc's and the ships guns will help you, and the hospital is just a step or two away so if you die you just hit the hospital before you even hit the ground and run right back into the fight.
As for the Last 4 LT. AV's I think their set way to high, on an 8 man team running at Heroic they con'ed at 54 I think running on Heroic they should con at 52 max, save the level 54's for the groups that want to run at a higher rep. Speaking of rep has anyone ran it on a higher level then heroic and if so do the AV's spawn at 55 or higher?
We failed after fighting Macko for 45 minutes with out ever geting him down past 25% health.
Our team was a:
Stone tank
Fire Tank
Blaster
2 Scrappers
PB
Ill/kin controller
Ill/Rad controller -

No you can only have the one 2x2 entry
The only way to make it look bigger is to just place lots of hallways leading off of it. -
none, as earned prestige was never that heroes. When a hero earns prestige is goes to the SG and stays there, the personal prestige number is there only to help leaders know how active in SG mode a hero is.
-
no, your rent is based on your total prestige, all that is in your base and all that you have saved up.
-
A guide to giving your landlord the shaft, or avoiding the rent trap while still maintaining a usable base.
Rent, we all hate it but non-the less we have to pay it if we want to maintain our bases functionality.
Rent is based on the total earned prestige of your super group, the amount you pay is based on a sliding scale of percentages so the more you have the greater percent of your total prestige you have to pay every two weeks (this may have changed in i8 but I have yet find this out for my self).
Thats right rent is due once every two weeks, or so the developers would like you to believe. However the reality is that you can bypass this two-week travesty and get away with paying much less rent and this is what this guide will show.
First everyone needs to understand that rent dose not accumulate nor do you incur late fees or penalties for not paying rent. Also its important to know that rent periods are based on rigid two-week blocks of time.
If you were to pay rent based on the plan the developers felt you should you would log in one day and see in your SGs message of the day that you owe X amount of prestige due on X day at X time. Seeing this you would rush off to the SG resistor and pay your owed rent. The message would go away and the day and time that your rent would have been due comes and goes, (all is well and your happy) then the next time you log on you see a message that your rent is again due, just two weeks after the date that your last rent was due.
Length of time between rent payments 2 weeks
So you ask what lesson should I be learning here?
1. If you pay your rent early you never reset your rent timer and are never able to take advantage of these rigid two-week blocks of time
2. Never pay your rent before its due.
Now you can continue to pay rent ever two weeks or you can instead choose to shaft the landlord.
Level one: the check is in the mail
This is for the super group that has a fully functional base with med bays and zone teleporters that get lots of use and youre unwilling to go with out these items.
First thing you need to do is reset your rent timer, remember I told you that rent periods are based on two week blocks of time. If you are now getting the message that rent is due on such and such day want until at lest one minute has passed beyond the date and time that rent was due, once you do this you are now in a new two week block.
After paying your rwnt you will have two weeks without seeing the Rent is due message, once it dose show up again it will give you a date and time two weeks in the future. Let this due date come and go, you now have two more weeks before any action is taken; this is the Check is in the mail time. Once those two weeks have passed your bases power will be shut off and you will loss the use of your med bays and teleporters. Once the power is shut off, but not one minute before go and pay your rent, and the six-week cycle will begin again.
Length of time between rent payments 6 weeks
Level two: We dont need no stinking lights!
If your SG is a smaller group with out a med bay or zone teleporters or maybe you dont use these items much and you can live with out them for a time, then you can engage in shafting your landlord level two. Follow the above plan for the first six weeks, when they turn off your power all they are in affect doing is turning off your use of controlled items; your base is still assessable and lit. You can continue to use your base for roll play and as a group meeting place. You will have another two weeks of base use before your cut off from your base all together.
Length of time between rent payments 8 weeks
Level 3: Come and get it if you can!
I also call this the rebuilding period.
If you find your group is truly strapped for Cash you can let your rent go for longer then 8 weeks, but after the 8th week access to your base is cut off. From this day on the rent due timer has stopped, the rent you owe remains forever the same until the time comes that you do pay it. This time could be used to rebuild a dead or dieing super group or just to build up a large amount of prestige for a needed base upgrade with out having to pay rent for the 12 to however many weeks it takes your group to earn that much prestige.
Once your ready to again start paying rent you can pay the owed amount and start the above 6 to 8 weeks cycle over again (Just remember is you earned a lot of prestige in that time your next rent payment will be much higher). Your base will still be there and rent that would have been incurred never dose.
So in summery you do not ever need to pay rent more then once every 6 weeks and you can wait as long as forever to pay rent if you dont mind losing use of your base.
I hope you find this small guide somewhat useful

I like the way you did Head in our huge room. What I thought of when I fisrt saw it was a hall way from your entrance, Just use a 1x2 teleport room right off your entrance so everyone to comes in passes though the head.

Only one interested response, there must be more of you out there that can help me out?
-
Anyone interested should PM me and post some links to any videos you have floating around out there on the web so I can get an idea of your skill level
-
I'm on the infinity server, but thats not really that important, if you don't have a hero on that sever I would PL you to 14 so you could at lest have a travel power.

Ive seen some very well done videos coming from fans of CoHs and know that there are some truly skilled videographers out there so anyone out there able to help me?
Im looking for someone that has experience with democord, video editing and production that would be willing to produce a video for our SG.
If this is something youve done before and would like to learn more about what Im looking for please contact me by PM and we can chat.
Now I understand that your time and even more so your skill and expertise are valuable and in that regards I do not expect anyone to do this for free, Im more then willing to discuses payment or trade for your work again this can be discussed via PM.
Thanks -

Silly question: What generator is that?
Its the turbine generator, thats the 2ed level power unit. It costs 1.5 million prestige but I cant recall right off the top of my head how much power it generates. But it will generate more the enough power for a little bit longer (that is 2 or 4 more guns).
Where did the desktop & CRT monitor on that desk come from? Are these items available in COV bases?
All base items are available in both CoHs and CoVs and yes it is a desk that comes with the computer on it all ready. Its one of the first items in the Desks tab. -

I bet there's some UBER SECRET spot the devs use just to be cool... like you talk to a fire hidrent or type in a certian command or something... like go into a telephone booth and type /superman or something... and it gives you XP for lvl 50 I swear game developers do this all the time, I know I would if i was a game developer...
[/ QUOTE ]
When we play on the development servers or Training Room, sure... but when we play on Live servers even we dont get any special commands or cheats. We level up just like the rest of you... I know I will be on with my Dominator a bunch this weekend.
[/ QUOTE ]
I dont believe this is 100% true, I was on once not to long ago when CuppaJo made an appearance for a super group costume contest that one of the SGs arraigned.
She logged on as a level 1 Fire/Fire blaster and then suddenly she was an untrained level 50.
So there is a /code to level.
As to what it isgood luck ever finding out.

Ok finally got some photos uploaded to the gallery.
Here are some shots of our newest i7 base
The FPR
The nicest thing about the new coloring options is that the Tech rooms are no longer so cold and sterile. Also in the arcane rooms Ive found that a color combo of black and white make things look crisper and stand out more, since you cant change the underlying color (arcane still has a brown tent to it). -

Thats really nice, our SG is still working with all the I7 items.
how did you change the logo on the banner without changing all of them? i tried to change the SGs logo then place the banner but it stays the same as before changed it.
[/ QUOTE ]
Only one type of banner can have one type of logo. What I mean by this is say you change you SG logo and colors to that of a coalition SG (Thats what I did) then place Large tech banner 1 with that logo, then you drop out of base edit mode and change your logo and colors back to your true SG ones.
When you return to edit mode you can never again move or use that banner again, if you do it will change to what ever your logo is now.
If you look you can see that none of the baners are the same other then the ones with my real logo. -

Can Permission be set for each Storage Container?
For example your group could have one container set to the lowest SG level, so everyone can place items in and take stuff out to help craft stuff, and another container set to a higher level where the special or rare salvage that members place in the first box could be moved to and saved for that big new thingy that your planning on.
