For future reference, if all you're doing is standing there, open the demofile using Notepad, and search for lines near the end with SKYFILE. These are timekeeper lines. Start from the bottom and work your way up, deleting them as you go to cut down the length of the demo. Granted, if you have a bunch of NPCs and whatnot moving around, it may make things look weird, but it'll shorter the length.

Task Force Ion - Part 1: 46 minutes.
Task Force White Sands - Part 2: 54 minutes.

Yep, here's what you do:

Open a command prompt, and go to C:\Program Files\NCsoft\City of Heroes (or whatever the right folder is).

Then type:

cityofheroes -demoplay FILENAME -disable2d -demofps 30 -demodump

(executable) (playback demofile) (the name of the file) (turn off the UI) (play back at 30fps) (create a folder that contains a JPG for each frame)

Let the playback run, and voila! You have an entire folder of screenshots.

Folks who follow me on Twitter (@Samuraiko) know I'm prone to posting impromptu riffs a la the old Burma-Shave signs that were once used for advertising on the highways of America:

"Your shaving brush / Has had its day / So why not / Shave the modern way. Burma-Shave"

So on a lark, for #SaveCoH, I posted these:

• AP Three Three / Torches aloft / Save COH / From NCsoft.
• We fight for justice / through and through / coz we're heroes / it's what we do.
• It's not just all / blowing up cars / it's coz we're villains / what's ours is ours.

Then I started on ones for each of the archetypes:

• Pull the aggro / Then retreat / End up dead / At your team's feet. Burma Blaster.
• You're not going / Anywhere / Unless you're wormholed / Over there. Burma Controller.
• Though all you do / Is heal and buff / When saving a**es / That's enough! Burma Defender.
• Too many foes / Is not a prob / Someone go get / Another mob. Burma Scrapper.
• Dispatching mobs / With gleeful ease / I am the meat shield / SB please! Burma Tank.

Until I realized I'd forgotten the villains:

• Keep that Fury / Bar at max / And mobs all look / Like tasty snacks. Burma Brute.
• You HAD defenses / But no more / Scourge has dropped them / Through the floor. Burma Corruptor.
• Controls and blasts / With great aplomb / Especially / With Perma-Dom. Burma Dominator.
• I am a team / Without the wait / Though pet AI / Is less than great. Burma Mastermind.
• I'm by the boss / I'm by the glowie / It's not my prob / That stealth ain't showy. Burma Stalker.

And then I had to do the HEATs/VEATs:

• Lobster and squid / Are not just foods / We're aliens / Inside you dudes. Burma Kheldian.
• Kalinda's list / Is incomplete / YOUR destiny's / Beneath our feet. Burma Arachnos S/W.

And a lot of folks seemed to like them, so I figured I'd share them here.

EDIT: Then the roommates have contributed:

• Holding aggro's / Not my job / I'm off to chase / Another mob. Burma Scrapper.

It means that dorks like me can FINALLY create a quick macro/tray button to demorecord instead of having to type in an identifying name when we want to turn on the demorecord command. (It's kind of like how screenshots are automatically tagged when you hit PrntScreen (or whatever your Capture Screenshot keybind is), but now with demorecord.) Now I can have one for DEMOSTART and one for DEMOSTOP.

I have been begging for this feature for years. No joke. YEARS.
