Okay, downloading my patch now, then I get to see if I can find teams that want to run the TF and SF with me.

Something tells me that my retirement is going to be shortlived when I see the actual TF/SF based on a few screenshots I've seen already...

Also, the CCG, which was published, but as far as I know, I think it's dead, too. Every once in a while, you might even hear about a City of Heroes movie/television show, because the rights were acquired a while back by the Transformers movie guy. As far as anyone can tell, though, it's pretty much dead, too.

It's a shame. I think City of Heroes might really be a good property to merchandise more.

Thank you for the vote of confidence, Melancton. The Powers That Be know where to find me, though I doubt it'll ever happen.

As far as the "I'm a Hero/I'm a Villain," I thought those were a bit more CoH than the Captain Dynamic ones, primarily because they were so tongue-in-cheek.

And I agree with you on Troy's writing for the comics - "Smoke and Mirrors" had to be my favorite of the bunch. Now that Paragon Studios has David Nakayama on the payroll, they should have him team up with Troy and start putting out comics again!

Those have been out for a couple of months now... also, if you swing by the Rooster Teeth website, they have an outtakes video there as well.

Ever since they showed these, I've been curious how effective it was as a marketing strategy - got us great exposure because the Red vs Blue contingent is huge, but not sure how many of them decided to give CoH a go as a result.

This is not a thread to encourage you to go or to stay - that decision is yours and yours alone. This is not a thread asking for your stuff - it's your account and you are free to dispose of it as you want. And this is not a thread meant as a venue for others to argue - this is simply a wishing-you-well goodbye post to those who are leaving.

While I'm sorry that you feel compelled to leave, I can respect your conviction in doing so. I've seen several of your posts and/or threads across the forums about everything that has happened lately. If you feel strongly enough about the recent issues as to either let your account(s) lapse or cancel it/them, that is certainly your right.

I may not always have seen eye-to-eye with many of you who are leaving, but some of you I considered friends, while others at least civilly agreed to disagree with me. Even to those with whom I did not get along, I still wish all of you well, and hope that maybe someday, if things here resolve themselves more to your liking, you might come back.

Either way, clear skies and safe landings wherever you go.

1) You are correct - trial accounts cannot send /tells. The reason being that the gold farmers used to spam tells like nobody's business. Blame them.

2) Certain wings are veteran rewards for being in the game for X amount of time; other wings are costume pieces that you buy the recipes for at Wentworth's or the Black Market, then craft, then go to the Tailor's. They do not automatically give you Flight - that's a power you can take at lvl 14 (or Hover at lvl 6 for slower flight).

3) I don't remember offhand if trial accounts can join SuperGroups/VillainGroups, but I don't think so. As for joining teams, you can announce in Local that you're looking for a team and have someone invite you.

The odd thing is, Space, I can't even GET to the Known Issues page on the main COH site. Depending on which page you're on, clicking on NEWS doesn't even have the link, and if I go to a page that DOES, when I click on it, all it gives me is the page background. No list. :S

EDIT: Oh, that's amusing. Most of the pages on the main COH site have no link at all to the KNOWN ISSUES page... a few have a link but it goes to the wrong page, and a couple have a link that goes to the RIGHT page.

As for patron heroes, I don't know... I could get behind the idea of taking one of the Surviving Eight as a patron - especially if you get to do the whole 'stomping on your patron as a test of your readiness' gig.
