A couple others I saw today while running around on Striga Isle:
1) Some of the Council that were fighting Banished Pantheon are now doing these kinda funky ninja moves (and at least one was doing the 'mez' emote)
2) While flying into the Council base, I saw a squad of Council marching in place, while a leader was going "Hooo! Hooo!" and they'd turn from facing forward to facing left, all the while marching in place.
3) Banished Pantheon, Vahz, and Stricken are all doing the Frankenstein walk.
4) The shakedown victims and the Tsoo in Talos appear to be doing new animations as well, not just the "cower" emote.
5) Last but not least... the War Walls look different when you get up close to them (the big glowie panels, not the base of the walls).

Welcome to the game and the forums! Please check your sanity at the door, you won't be needing it here.
My husband and I have been playing CoH for the last 3 years and enjoying it immensely (both heroside and villainside). And I agree with Westley *gasp choke snerk*... skip AE for at least the first few months. Explore the game, see everything there is to see. Then go enjoy Architect Entertainment arcs.
And depending on the server you choose, if you happen to hear, "Hey everyone, look cool, I'm filming!" come over the broadcast, that would be me.

What I would really love to see is a video from Respite encompassing the game as a whole in it's current state... then who knows.. perhaps see Crytic throw it on a tv commercial.. i bet you would see some new subscriptions then...
And trust me, I've had a video in mind for almost six months now for 'the game as it stands' that is totally meant to "sell" CoH/CoV. I just can't afford to license the music to do it, because this is a video that once made, I would tell EVERYONE I know to use it to spread the word about the coolness that is CoH, and the distribution licensing for that is not cheap (at least not by my standard).
(It'd be too long for a TV commercial, but it'd make one hell of a "coming attractions" preview trailer.)
And again, David and his team are constantly making strides in the videos they produce... enough to keep me on my toes!

They might also be making sure that the massive influx of players onto the servers, now that I-16 is live, won't unduly break anything. It'd kinda suck to hold double XP weekend and no one can get on coz of "technical difficulties."

When you enter the main building in Grandville, the statues of the four patrons now have their symbols on them (the ones that appear when you use their patron powers). Which I thought was a nice touch.
And once again, random dialogue has been improved throughout the game. War Witch must have the coolest job in the world - "Hey, WW, write some snarky comments for those Crey standing around Primeva!" "Hey, WW, we need Arachnos commentary on lookout in Grandville!" "Hey, WW, give us random Hellions sounding INTELLIGENT for a change!"

Lots of good advice on here from lots of folks, and yes, I agree with just about all of it. A local con, you could get away with last-minute attendance decisions, but something like this... better to plan, save up, and really be able to enjoy it.
And trust me, as soon as HC 09 is over, it's a safe bet we'll all be starting the countdown til HC 10.

Having now tracked some of the stats on my I-16 trailer, some folks are posting/embedding my video on their blogs or on forums to tell people what Issue 16 is really like. That is cool. Always nice to know that people have mentally linked my videos with the game that strongly.

Yeah, yeah, I'm double posting, but this couldn't really wait. I waited for a while to see Sam's latest video. It took the better part of an hour to download, so now I'm feeling rather ripped-off. I want to be so overwhelmed by the continual coolness of her vids that I won't say anything dorky for a year. Having to wait for so long for a video to download, especially one of Sam's videos totally ruins my mindset. I go from sheer joy and wonder at the fantasticness of the video to foaming-at-the-mouth irritation that I have to wait forever for another one to download. I currenty have SBC Global as my ISP, so if anyone knows of a way to make it faster (I can't change it due to the whole family being on this plan) please let me know!
I, along with legions of other forum-goers, enthusiastically request more vids from the best CoH/CoV video artist that I've ever come across (FYI, 42 month game vet and counting). Keep up the good work Sam!
(Sorry if that first bit had anyone worried {especially you, Sam
}, but, if you've seen Sam's stuff and heard my other fan-rants about her, then you'd have known that this was kind-of a practical joke. If it was too offensive, I apologize and promise that this was a one-time thing as far as I can tell. I'm a rather whimsical person with a demented sense of humor, so I never know when I'm going to do something like this. After dealing with myself for almost 20 years, you'd think that I'd have better self-control.)

As to the employment thing, I am overqualified for the jobs I'm applying to all over the country and yet, nobody is even showing remote interest. Barring a few "under the hood" upgrades (as BAB's been known to call them), I would absolutely love to see an issue that is just CRAMMED with new content. Moonbase or underwater zone or whatnot would be sweet, but an issue with tons of new contacts and missions and story arcs? I would be on that like white on rice.
There is an absolute wealth of material in the existing story canon that's only been hinted at, through badges and plaques and character backgrounds. Do more with this. PLEASE do more with this.

Maybe they won't hire her because of job security worries for the official video makers? Nothing threatens job security, promotions, salary, bonuses, etc than one worker shining like a diamond while their coworkers are still stones in the rough.
The official videos are okay with the exception of the Captain Amazing videos that made me cringe and want to play another game. They absolutely stunk. They didn't sell the game at all.
And that's my opinion.

And I agree with Razoras - it really shouldn't be a case of "only one video can be good - hers or theirs." David and the Creative team have done some terrific work, and credit really should be given where credit is due. (BTW, Razoras, it's not just here - it's on the main thread discussing the official trailer, in the comments section on the trailer's announcement on Facebook, etc.)
So... yeah. The playerbase got a Samuraiko/Dark_Respite I-16 trailer. And it'll probably get a GOING ROGUE trailer.
After that...

Then I go to the source I know will never disappoint. Samuraiko completely nails the essence of Issue 16, catalogues the changes so elegantly, and blows the Dev Vid so far outta the water that it devolves from its gills into a mouth breather.
