Actually, since one of my characters has the backstory of being an Ouroboros Mender, I ran her through just enough arcs to get her access to Entrusted with the Secret (courtesy of Doc Delilah's arc). The bulk of her lvl 25+ activity will then be via Flashback. (Since I FULLY intend to get all of the Ouro badges on her, in case they ever unlock/fix the Chronomaster Accolade.)

Quote:Well, I know that Mercedes Lackey does/did play CoH (and for some time), and of course The Pantsless One plays. Not sure about Austin Grossman, to be honest.I expect a lot more out of guess authors, but part of the problem might be that they haven't played the game?
Maybe they don't understand that the main character(s) are the players and not the characters in their missions?
It was a waste of my time other than getting xp for running it. Honestly, I would have enjoyed it more if I had NOT read the text. And that is sad.
I'm really sorry to say that that is the case.
And I agree with Irresponsible's comment - the arc author can't really improve if they don't know what's wrong. If you don't feel comfortable posting the criticism on the forums, perhaps you might ask Dr. Aeon if you can send it to HIM and let HIM forward it on to the author for consideration. Just a thought...

For those who want an empty map, you can now MAKE it an empty map. Just set your enemy group to EMPTY, and voila - abandoned map. I used that in mission #3 of "For All the Wrong Reasons...", where *spoilers* you lure Anti-Matter to an abandoned lab, and summon him in by activating a beacon. He (and his minions) spawn onto the map, and now it's just you and him (and his minions).

And the next thing that flashes to mind is Dr. Aeon vamping to the camera, batting his eyes behind those coke-bottle lenses of his...

Quote:Where exactly is this? Can we get screenshots or /locs?There is an overgrown greenhouse up on monkey island in Peregrine. You can drop in through the broken ceiling, and chill out in the gardens. I always enjoyed that.
And the "Moon River" music from the developers dungeon in Grandville still makes me laugh. Brrraaaappppp.

(BTW - thank you whoever positive-repped me for liking my work and to fight d*****baggery) -
I'd suggest searching for keywords that would interest you, factions you enjoy, players you know and like, that sort of thing. It reduces your chances of getting farms.
Also, as someone else mentioned, hit the MA sections on the forums - you'll find there are actually several folks who run together as teams to check out various and sundry arcs in the MA.
And last but not least, you might find some nifty ones that spark your interest in posters' signatures here on the forums. A lot of folks advertise their arcs in their sigs (I do it too), so if you see a title that looks interesting, jot down the number and title and take a gander at it.

Just wanted to add my own thanks to the chorus for hanging with Avatea last night. I came in kinda late so I wasn't able to actually run the arc with her, but we stood around chatting for a while in the RWZ before she had to bail to sleep (must get her rest if we are to have more spiffy GR info).
And now I have her democode so I can sneak her into a vid... mwahaha.

Quote:Based on the article "Looking Glass Monsters" in Issue 16 of the Top Cow comics (written by Arctic Sun and Constellation, with help from Manticore), virtually all of the Praetorians have the same civilian names as their primal earth counterparts. Some just aren't listed (Anti-Matter, Neuron, and Tyrant, for example), but enough of the others are to extrapolate that yes, Anti-Matter is in fact Raymond Keyes. As I said in another thread, I've never seen anything that said Anti-Matter is Raymond Keyes. As far as I know, he's just the Preatorian version of Positron, but it doesn't necessarily mean they are the same person from two different dimensions.
My personal (and completely baseless) theory is that Raymond Keyes will turn out to be the Preatorian Clockwork King, while Anti-Matter is someone else (possibly Ernesto Rodriguez AKA Black Scorpion on Primal Earth).
And after re-reading Anti-Matter's mini-bio in that article, I just had a REALLY disturbing thought...
Like Positron, he lost control of his powers - only being sealed inside his armor is keeping him alive (and keeping him from becoming a nuke). But if Cole has the Clockwork to help clean up the nuclear messes after dealing with the Hamidon (see Tyrant's new bio on the GR site)... meaning that yes, Keyes could have self-destructed without TOO much lasting damage to the surrounding turf...
... did Anti-Matter seal himself into the armor, or did Tyrant do it for him rather than lose a valuable resource?

So far, have run Mercedes' arc and Troy's arc... hers is fun, his is serious. I enjoyed them both (having run both solo, and then Troy's again with a nearly full team).

Don't worry, that still works as far as neat places go. It's the maps like that (and I agree about that sense of vertigo) that make some players go, "Wha-? Where's that? I wanna see!"

a) You can't surround an Ally with non-Enemy people. Either they're alone, or they're with enemies, unfortunately.
b) If they're alone, they start talking the SECOND you enter the mission. Annoying bug, but there it is.
c) To keep them from following you (sort of), just tell them to Do Nothing or else Wander Off. If you outrun them, they get lost anyway.
Does that help?

Quote:Actually... it's more what I'd love to HEAR. I'm curious what the new music and sound effects for the Praetorian content is going to be like.Already on it. On with the Going Rogue banter!
Mr Nakayama's comment has got me all excited and buzzy. Certainly sounds like we're gonna be getting more stuff that makes me giggle to myself. Saying that, they could probably show me a picture of a desk in a Praetorian office and I'd get a bit excited. Ideally, I'd love more teaser screenies like this one. Even better if they're not so obvious and we have to think. A bit like when they released the i11 Ouroboros wallpaper. That drove me mad.
What would you guys love to see?
