I've wondered if the ambushes are a bit overpowered (and not just coz I was on a stalker at the time - this happened with other ATs)...
I was doing the last mission of Seer 1381's arc (where you fight Seer 001), and an ambush gets triggered...
... of TWENTY-SIX PPD AND SEERS.
On a +0/+0 character.
Kid you not... I was so astounded I was killed before I'd realized what happened, then went back, turned on Hide, and took screenshots.
I knew I was a threat to Cole's regime, but DAMN, guys!

Also, for your 'drug abuse' suggestion, I did an arc once upon a time called "Dyne of the Times" that at first seems like a straight black-and-white take on fighting the drug cartels in PC, only to blindside you with a moral dilemma. (Arc # in my sig.)

PS - If you're into the more "grey area" arcs, Dr. Aeon sponsored an AE contest a while back where the focus of the arc was "heroes doing questionable things in the name of heroism". Your Search Fu should be able to turn it up fairly easily. -
Which track were you on? I still need to film Tyr- er... Emperor Cole and need his demo info.
(And trust me, I have done the whole in-game/out-of-game squeeing thing... my husband just gives me long-suffering looks and ignores them by now.)

To answer seriously, though, I'm not sure which came first. I'm pretty certain that Statesman was Jack Emmert's character, but how much of his backstory he was responsible for writing, I don't know. Sean Michael Fish (the original Lore master of COH) might know, or maybe Matt Miller - they've both been around long enough that they might be able to say.
I do know that a couple of folks have made the CoH/B5 jokes before - especially about wondering if we could stick Statesman into stasis for a couple hundred years or so.

Alternately, you could demorecord the area, then go back and just edit out all the civilians (and even change the timecode if you want it at night vs daytime or whatever), then play it back and get your screencap.

My personal favorite was that for YEARS, I was under the impression that Sting and the Police had recorded a song called "Spare Ribs in the Maternity Ward."
If you think about it long enough, it makes sense in a weird sort of way... sort of.

I am anxiously waiting for ParagonWiki to get all the mission text up for the Praetorian arcs, so I have more info when writing TCoSR II and III (both of which involve the Praetorians). Specifically, I need more info on what happened to Anti-Matter (and his apparent fall from grace)!
Re: my own characters, of my mains:
As the Rikti never invaded, Vanguard was never formed, but after using all of her technological and inventing skills to help Moscow's citizens flee from the Devouring Earth, Sorina 'Tava' Tavarisch is listed as "missing, presumed dead";
and Andrea Blake's true backstory finally develops (including discovering her real name), as she fights for the Resistance, specifically helping the Seers escape the yoke of Mother Mayhem. Where on Primal Earth, her powers manifested as dark/psi (born psychic, she gained control of Netherworld energy after a near-death experience)... on Praetorian Earth, she focuses her psychic talents into telekinetic energy harnessed via martial arts, and shrouds herself in darkness to hide from Mother Mayhem.

PS - oh thank you GOD, whoever at Paragon Studios finally clued in to putting info about following COH after their vids (as in Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube). Now once the video plays out, that's the last thing they see, thus spreading the word that we're on the internet for more than just the game. -

Yep, as I posted on my Twitter account (@Samuraiko for those who want to follow me), my GR trailer will not be available until the end of August. My furniture FINALLY got delivered, and now I am frantically trying to organize my apartment so I don't have to constantly go "where is such-and-such?" (a major hassle, let me tell you).
I have it storyboarded, I have the music and titles ready to go... I just need to get in and film. (And I'm hoping that someone *coughcoughBABcough* will give me the MOV command for that Praetorian salute thing.)

And to be honest, with all the hoopla about GR, the ViDocs that the devs are producing, and the discussion (such a polite term) about the changes to the forum, I really didn't think anyone would notice if I didn't do one at all, let alone whether it was late. Guess I was wrong.
But yes... tl;dr version - the Ko will have your vid within 2 weeks (I hope).

I just always make a point of trying to find something new for filming purposes each time. I look for new emotes/MOVs from the NPCs, new scenery I might have missed, interesting looking buildings, etc.

Thanks, Shadowe. As a general rule, I've got the mindsets of the Phalanx pretty well-covered... when they're in situations that they'd be accustomed to finding themselves in. But they're going to find themselves in a situation that is WAAAY beyond their experience (actually, in several, now that I think about it), and so far, I've managed not to scare more than one or two people off with the reaction of, "Oh God, Positron/States/whoever would never do that."
Oh, well - I shall muddle along as best I can and see who sticks around for the rest of the story.
BTW - I heard an interesting rumor that not only has a good chunk of the GM team (the customer service guys) read this story and follow it, but so do the mods! I wonder if I should bring a SuperHeroRomance.com t-shirt to PAX for Ocho?
